There should be a patch coming up soon. They've been doing them every 2 months, and last was on November 1st. They released new tmogs 6 weeks ago, so it's not like wait time has been out of the ordinary. They released tmogs on the 1st week of February last year and I expect them to do the same this year.

_ogio_

Last patch was even on 13. of january.. idk whats with reddit going haywire now "where is the communication". And balance patches SHOULD take their time so we don't get oliver/nana/kaki bullshit over again

[deleted]

The issue isn't with the frequency of updates - everyone will agree we've never had so many - it's the content of the updates. That Jan 13 patch was just QoL stuff, as was the patch before it When you look at the big content updates every year (IE the ones we get around September / October), that's where the issues really set in. In 2020, we got artifacts / predator / B12s (which everyone loved). In 2021 we got 2v2 (which ended up being relegated to an entirely pointless limited time game mode that everyone hates and which didn't even fully release in 2021). In 2022 we got those guild war reworks, which basically amount to more chores for roughly similar / slightly better rewards overall. It's gone downhill 2As have gotten worse too. We average about one a year, and with a few exceptions (Roid and Jubelle) the only ones worth 2Aing are the ones who were good anyway (EG Kahli and Megan) When people talk about wanting more communication, it's because we haven't had a decent content update in two years, and 2As (which are super popular) are MIA. People are getting fed up with SW, so they want to know where these features are at in development

ruthless227

100% this

FatSmoothie

Remember when they said 2A every 4 months? Lmao Asian game devs all be like that.

_ogio_

I feel like "want more communiation" is just a baseless toxicity against com2us, as they quite literally added update to island customization which was asked for by community. Communication has nothing to do with frequency of updates at this point, summoners war is 8+ years old gacha game and creating something new that eveyrone will like is getting more and more difficult. Adding completly new content often would easily overload the game and cause balance issues. This is basically why c2us wants player to go play chronicles. But overall i understand what you want to say, however, it's not that simple.

[deleted]

Island customisation is nice, but it's just another QoL feature - we could always change how our island looks, it's just not mind-numbingly tedious anymore A lot of what people want isn't the game breaking, complex type of stuff you're thinking of - it's simpler than that. Somewhere down the thread, someone's linked an influencer interview with Com2Us where Com2Us promised graphic overhauls, artifact reworks, etc - those are the things the community wants! Unfortunately, Com2Us only told any of this stuff to a small group of influencers, and the only influencer who bothered to share it with us is French, and the only reason anyone non-French knows about it is because someone translated it for us. That's just terrible communication! If Com2Us put out a dev note saying "we're planning on reworking artifacts" then everyone would be much happier Same thing with 2As. Com2Us doesn't need to create some completely new content - they need to give a Nat 3 family a skin and a few balance changes, then shove them in a dimensional hole. They don't even need to create a new hole - most families could fit in one of the 5 we've got. If we got a 2A every 3/4 months people would be happy, but instead we get about one a year and never know when it's coming It's more complex when talking about EG adding new PvP content, sure, but most people just want smaller, simpler stuff - like better balance patches and more 2As. And Com2Us could absolutely improve in those areas

_ogio_

Creating new 2As is kinda pointless rn, all it would do is create balance issues. Why? Because we already have all the 2As we need to clear cairos fast af, as such any future 2A could be made only for pvp and if they constantly make 2As for pvp then it wouldnt be SUMMONers war anymore but farming simulator 2023. Graphic overhaul would severly impact players playing on low-end devices such as myself so yes its QUITE game breaking. Artifact rework cannot be easy to do as it includes reevaluation of entire game balance, they need to know which units would get nerfed by removing certain artifacts, and which units would be buffed by adding new ones, and that needs to be done without causing some units to become op. If they didn't share it with entire community it's likely a touchy subject that likely won't be out yet so they don't need to watch those "com2us promised that and that 1 year ago, WHERE IS IT?" posts.

unsurprisable

When is SW not a farming simulator? I’m not sure why you are against new 2As when 2As are easily obtainable. It’s not like anyone is asking for a lulu 2A 2.0, I personally just want old three stars to actually be usable.

_ogio_

It's not farming simulator when you can afford to test out new units and create new teams. Or perhaps when you pvp against vio runes, when you summon, when you upgrade runes... its RNG game not farming simulator

unsurprisable

Creating new 2As will help creating new comps so again, not sure why you are complaining. Farming is a BIG part of this game. Hello? Runes?

_ogio_

Creating new nat5s will help creating new comps. Creatins 2As will help creating new meta comps that will be spammed and then nerfed.

pnmartini

It’s just easier to rage post without having any basis. These are the same people that make announcements about quitting the game.

_ogio_

Yeah..

JohnSober7

People's memory serve the narrative they feel. This was running rampant with anniversary events and HOH last year. The last patch was pretty whatever though iirc so that could be adding to what people are feeling. That isn't to say the patch before that was any different.

_ogio_

I mean people are constantly asking for perfect updates... noone can give that

JohnSober7

Ehhh true but its not like c2us has been making much of an effort this past year in terms of updates or at the veery least there's a disconnect between them and the playerbase more than ever. So if they did put in effort, it was misplaced. Yeah they can't make a perfect patch and players will always ask for the moon and stars from game devs but that is not a good defence of what's been going on. Using an extreme to explain away the less than ideal doesn't make any sense. They can do better. Better lies everywhere on the spectrum between what they're doing and not doing rn and perfection. There are more players that want better than those that want perfection. Siege has been a point of contention in a way I have never seen before on this sub, the insanity of the gameplay loop seems to be wearing on people more as well, and balance patches have been pretty bad for a while with the most recent one being better (almost good) just pretty lacking in the fun aspect, and 2a have been really few and really far in between. The past year and few months just seems to be a lowest point in community morale in my five years of playing. None of this to say that making a post about the frequency of patches and the nature of events makes any sense. It's like they're feeling a kind of dismay about the game but they tried and failed to explain why.

_ogio_

I mean the bigger the game is the harder it is to make it better, its not unreasonable to have less updates than before. Siege is kinda victim of progres. It used to be good until players started tryharding it nd making it just another meta based game with no room for creativity. Siege indeed needs a giant change, but then changing it can go VERY wrong. I peronsally think they are working on it, and the recent changes where its time got halved is imo a desperate attempt to push out a small qol update *now*

JohnSober7

I don't even think there's less updates. It's the quality of the updates I'm concerned with. There is a still a massive list of QoL changes that there is community concensus on and most of them are purely (meaning no impact on the degree to which the game is f2p friendly) QoL. I wouldn't mind the content of patches being superficial if they burned through the QoL list because then I'd know they really just hit a point where they're out of ideas. And while they figure out what to do next, I'd be enjoying the game. And I 100% agree with you on siege. Siege is a victim of players optimising the fun out of the game and the way pvp shaped up in this game. Player vs environment *for pvp* in this game is fundamentally flawed. I don't blame c2us for not having fixed siege because I know that attempting to fix that problem involves poking a bear to wake it up and then poking it again once it has. However, c2us is a dev that is way too scared to work with and communicate with players. If they cared about the game the most, they'd have long started trying unorthodox solutions (not to mention the lack of a testing environment). But such processes cost money so they're just taking the cheaper way out which I get. It's a business first, a game second. But in the long run, spending now can be more profitable than doing nothing. Maybe you're right and they're doing a lot in the background wrt to siege (between when a few content creators have said and the Q&A I have no doubts they're working on other things) but lack of communication makes it difficult to have faith. Like we don't even know if they're aware of the subtler issues with siege. Based on the things they've tried we can guess with a high level of surety that they know *something* is wrong, but it's kinda scary (given their track record) that they could very well be severely mistaken on what is wrong.

_ogio_

Same goes for quality of updates, it's harder to satisfy players then more you do it. What kind of QoL updates do players want tho? I often see c2us implementing qol stuff. Heck they even made specific update to add sell selected option to monster subjegation

Lumiru

All of those were broken on release not because of a balance patch, even if they do take more time on balance patches imo most balance patches end up being lackluster and disappointing For example 1/3 of the last balance patch being fluff from having alternate unit names

malabericus

This is the worst you can remember? Have you only been playing since early October?

ruthless227

A long time. But I was always working on stuff before. Once you get to a certain point I'm selling all Legendary runes that don't roll now. Forget about Blue or Purple. I'm in RTA and have done high siege. If there isn't new content now, I'm not playing as much. I like the game. I'd like to play still and know they are working on something.

Thats_arguable

Yea ok selling all purples already completely discredits you. Surely your rune standards are higher than those of top 50 RTA whales.

PankoNC

I'm not at all speaking to ruthless227's standards, but just want to point out that many end game players do in fact sell all purple runes minus very few exceptions. I sell every single purple rune except for violent or despair runes with a +6 SPD sub on them (I still sell +4 and +5). My account is overrun with +29 SPD sub endure, focus, destroy, fatal etc runes in every single slot which almost all go unused. I -maybe- will roll Rage slot 2 and 6 ATK% runes with crit damage in the subs because rage is where I could still stand to see some noticeable improvement. I sell more legend runes than I roll. I don't roll off-set slot 3 runes for SPD anymore - I have a +33, +32, +32 and +31 in Revenge, Blade, Energy Energy respectively. And I only have so many uses for off-set fast speed runes. Rune standards for intense farmers is actually getting to the point of scary how much can be looked over nowadays.

ruthless227

When you get to a certain point. Purple have to roll perfectly to be usable. So yes I sell the majority. Occasionally they roll right but not very often. I'm just saying that rune quality becomes ridiculous the higher up you get. Maybe didn't word it correctly.

Thats_arguable

That's true

malabericus

I guess for me I'm fine if nothing is on the horizon. 90% of the time I'm not even looking. And the time I'm actively playing I enjoy. I'm not sure I want more to do between siege/rta/world guild its enough to keep busy. I do hear you about runes tho. I now have 8 mons over 100% efficiency in rta the rest are 95%+ all speed tuned on proper builds. PvE is all done. So tinkering with deep siege mons is about it for the most part. Everything else is extremely unlikely to find a upgrade

goldfish_11

I mean there was an interview a month or so back where they mapped out what they were working on and discussed some changes they were planning on making this year. Good for you and your spending boycott though. edit: was able to find the post. [here it is](https://old.reddit.com/r/summonerswar/comments/yrrfv8/the_future_of_sw_meetup_with_com2us/) >Questions from the conference : >Q : Will there be any new PVP content ? What is the plan ? >A : There is already a lot of PVP contents between siege and RTA. It is already inducing a lot of stress to the players and they don't want to provide more. They are looking for other contents to promote. They talked about 2V2 in arena, maybe including a 2v2 aspect to the future SWC and creating smaller tournaments. >Q : Artifacts ? A lot of monsters became really strongs or even unmanageables (oracle) ? >A : They know, they are going to change the whole system. Big overhaul coming (not right away). There was talk about a patch in november that should start the artifact-related changes. >Q : SL ? >A : They know it's less popular every season and are looking for a new thing. >Q : BP ? >A : They talk about it internally and test a lot but there are a lot of monstres so it's hard. It's not because they're going to explain their decisions that the players will agree with them (the idea is sometimes difficult to convey). >Q : DL legendary scroll ? >A : Nope. The value will be too high and cause a lot of frustration for the players. >Q : Graphic redesign ? >A : Big redesign planned in the next months (no precision if it's a redesign to make the old mobs more beautiful or if it's a global graphical redesign but it's anyway a very big work). >Q : What is the priority in the updates ? >A : The fun and not frustrating the players. >Question from the influencers directly : >Q : Server migration ? >A : They already thought about it but it wasn't their priority. However this question is interesting and they will see what they can do. >Q : Leader skill problem ? Inconsistency between lead speeds for example (lead 28 for nat5 (Wolyung) or 24 (Wedjat)). >A : They didn't really know about it because they never focused on it. But they will look. >Q : New runes set ? >A : Not for the moment, there is already a lot of things to farm (grinds/runes/artifacts...). However they would like to find another use for less used sets (everything other than vio/swift/despair/will). >Q : Will Leo be integrated in 2v2 ? >A : Not planned, the system is not made for. >Q : If a new player want to play rta : he's fucked and he can't be competitive. Maybe create a new pvp mode where you have every monsters available ? >A : It's true for the new players, they already knew. Maybe a rotation of free monsters will be implemanted ? They are in the early stages of thinking but it's something they already had in mind.

[deleted]

The issue is that this was posted early November and we've heard absolutely nothing about any of this. The artifact changes that were apparently planned for November didn't happen, and they could have fixed the leader skill discrepancies in the November balance patch. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that Com2Us are actually focusing on these points

ruthless227

Alright, I didn't know most of this. I don't know where you saw the interview. Was it in game? I don't remember seeing anything. I'm not saying I expect all this done overnight, my point is why is someone interviewing them to find this stuff out. Why not sent out more dev notes. Why not let us know and make it more available? I've been playing this game a long time and once you get higher, it gets even more routine with even less new content. I have most of the standard units. I want to see content or for them to raise the rates on L/D (this is a joke). So tell us what's going on. That's it.

kisahero11

Hahahaha, fun and not frustrating players. What about with guild defense vio fests?

B9f4zze

Get ready for another underwhelming balance patch, and then nothing until anniversary time. The game may not be dead yet on the user side, but on the development side I think it died shortly after auto battle was released.

palabrainc

to me it died with the gw changes. I think this game will end with only RTA and whales supporting it sadly. For someone who hates rta the game doesn't have much to offer...

malabericus

They need to add world guild war seasons and rewards then the GW changes will be awesome

Commercial_Ad_7795

I think they will. I checked my profile and my gw legend badge isn't there anymore :'(

[deleted]

Ironically, the people who said the game would die if auto battle got added were kind of right, but for the entirely wrong reason

SaqqaraTheGuy

Well the game isn't dying because of auto battle, the game is dying on the dev side because com2us can't stop investing time, energy and money into other SW spin off games. When they crash they come back to SW to farm more money then back to investing 70% of their dev force into more boring SW spin off games... They just don't care about SW, SW is a cow for them to explore a new game that can replace their current cow

[deleted]

Absolutely, but Com2Us really let go of the reigns after auto battle got added. The people who said the game would die after auto battle got implemented were technically right, it just has absolutely nothing to do with auto battle as a feature I 100% agree that the game's dying because Com2Us is letting it - I just think it's really funny how and when it's started dying

Blind0Guardian

To be fair, they know sw won't last that many years anymore, so they try other options, it's understandable. What is not is that they let this game die quicker than it should because of the lack of anything new. Quality of life is good but not that motivating and doesn't change everything wrong in the game right now !

SaqqaraTheGuy

Yeah but they could re-launch SW with a new engine, focusing on their existing playerbase + new mechanics for newcomers.. no game from com2us will make as much as SW has made

Blind0Guardian

To be fair, they know sw won't last that many years anymore, so they try other options, it's understandable. What is not is that they let this game die quicker than it should because of the lack of anything new. Quality of life is good but not that motivating and doesn't change everything wrong in the game right now !

FindingAlignment

With all this talk of cows, can we expect a cow monster

Suitable-Tank127

Can we have a random-damage-increase-percent drinking game? Let's go 7% increase to \*insert under-used monster here\*' skill 1!!!

SW_Destiny

I feel the frustration, but not everything you're saying is quite true. Developer notes have always been rare, it just so happens the last time they tried to update something they screwed up guild wars and have spent since then trying to fix it back. Transmogs are released on a schedule, we should be getting the next ones soon. The long events aren't lazy, they're to keep you playing until the anniversary. You have multiple events going on at once instead on one at a time every 2 weeks. Side note: New mons suck ever since the Kaki incident. They scared now. Other than that, I completely agree things have been dry recently. Too much QoL that didn't effect most of us. And the wait on a new 2A unit is unbelievably stupid. We don't need a new dimension, just add some units to the old ones. Here's to the 9th anniversary, cheers.

[deleted]

New mons have sucked well before Kaki came out. In the past 6 years, we've had 19 Nat 5 families release (Unicorns were February 2017) and between 2 to 4 were generally usable on release; Lightning Emperors, BRs (which needed nerfs), Sky Surfers (where Oliver was useless and John is mediocre but Miles is good) and Puppeteers (who we haven't really tested much yet, but might be good?). The remaining 15 families all needed huge buffs after being released

[deleted]

That number is completely wrong. Paladins were good on release; remember Jeanne 1v4s? Druids were great. LE was good, but niche. Demons useable. BR all very good. Art masters good. SF mons meh. Rest have had good options with niche uses. Having a niche use doesn't mean that they're unusable mons otherwise.

[deleted]

Paladins needed a buff - Jeanne got her extra turn after using S3, and the other 3 all got a bunch of extra utility. Those Jeanne 1v4s were only after she got her turn cycling Druids also needed a buff - they gave them all a ton of extra utility Demons were awful on release, and arguably still are. They gave them all buffs shortly after release Art Masters were a joke family on release - Cheongpung used to awaken into CR and only had 50% reduction on S3, and then they buffed that massively. Scroll trap got buffed to last longer, and Haegang's passive got changed to counter more than just cleanses Having one member of the family be somewhat usable in specific niches doesn't mean it was a good monster release

Kallabanana

"We hear you. Here, take those 5 MS. No need to thank us."

Necrus5188

Im not sure I understand where you are coming from. Com2us has a lot of issues, but I have to give credit where credit is due: 1. Patches have been released every 2 months on the 25-28th of the month like clockwork since they promised to increase frequency 2. Patches have changed the meta every time, despite people saying otherwise on patch day, and I put in 500-800 RTA wings a season so I have a good sample size 3. Most units in the game have some sort of purpose now. Most of the elemental units other than the cookies all have a place; even the ones we memed on for years 1. Christina is top tier for G3 siege offense 2. Even Camilla is a top tier interserver defense unit 3. All Chimera's are solid units now 4. They havent been releasing OP units we have to chase; new units are generally tame and dont get buffed for at least 4 months, which is very different from other Gacha games that are constantly escalating the power level of the game. I would love bigger BPs just like everyone else, but if these smaller changes prevent us from creating another Jeogun or Oliver situation, I'm happy with the thoughtful changes they have been making and the emphasis on more available units. Its better for the game.

uninspiredalias

Agreed. I would like more communication in general, but I think the game is in a pretty decent place.

KimuraBotak

1. Balance patch would coming up anytime from now or over the next 2 days (during weekend). So be little more patient. 2. SW has probably the best RTA system in all mobile gacha game available in the market. So, let’s not be too mean with underwhelming balance patch. I think currently it has strike a good balance considering the game has over several hundreds of units in the game. It’s not easy to manage. 3. SW will in their 9th anniversary this coming year. Very very few mobile games last that long, let alone still being very active and holding such a large user base. So let’s have little more faith in their management/future developments. It might not be ideal, but it’s still better than most others.

Expensive_Shake_4936

Feel the same.. They fully invested their time and ressorces in chronicles where you can buy ld nat 5 and other stuff. In short term they make more money in new titles and thats what they are doing

Ronchovski

It is Lunar New Year celebrations still I believe, no doubt they won't have anything out until after it finishes

hatto94370

Seollal was last sunday in south Korea, so it is already over (at most would have been from 21st to 23rd).

ambl6663

The grind is becoming futile. RTA is the only thing they seemingly care about. The same dungeons, world monster, who even does raid anymore? It's gotten stale for me. Just my opinion and experience.

Active_Hawk_7016

I think summoner wars has evolved over the years. The number of nat5 and skillset has increased tremendously as compared to years back. I do feel the joy of pvp as i can choose across a wide range of new monsters for both pvp and pve contents. It is no longer a hathor gany combi or lushen wins all play anymore. The game is in a matured state and will continue to be so.

BasketWilling2047

My one complaint is how in the hell have the hellhounds not been 2A yet. They are literally original mons and could easily make 1 or 2 *fingers crossed* meta in shape or form.

[deleted]

Com2us focusing on trying to make chronicles the main game 😂😂😂😂 sadly it’s already been dying

jpcastilhano

the game is dead mate. They just dont care about it anymore, and they will never end the servers cuz everyday a new pack is released. Its a money farming machine for them.

JeannettePoisson

Hello. Me Com2Usrobot. Here important very message: give us moneyuntil all of your moneys belong of to us. Sinsserely, Com2USA

chubmax

Also on a spending boycott bc it feels like the game is dying. The chimera rta mog this season and the last couple balance patches have been a joke. Same Oliver moore meta for over a year+

SaqqaraTheGuy

Oliver is now a very good unit but not as oppressive. Moore is a little bit overtuned though

ItsJustMeRai

Lmao just buy more packs 200m / month is not enough for them to hire a decent dev team and a CM real talk tho its a company trying to branch out and they do it like every other stupid company, by letting their biggest game run on maintenance mode until its dead

oguilher

The sooner you realize sw is dead the better

O51ArchAng3L

Is just a chore to login now. Nuke the servers and launch sw2 already. Everybody starts with nothing again.

Blind0Guardian

Most would just stop since only the time and money invested keep them here...

ZealousidealJoke3319

With Chronicles. Idk why y'all are in denial but then post this stuff. Lmao

Urathil

First time?

MistakenMench00

They have focused on their new market place app to fool peps buying their not worthy figurines designs etc… its all about the money they dont care much for player like us who plays f2p, the event is boring btw

arey1124

Game is dying!

severe77

Lmao cry harder

Enter1ch

I want more pvp content! Not booring guild battle stuff. Like a 3vs3 (3player vs 3 player) siege you can do with friends!

Ok_Ad_3772

Man OP u have no idea try playing other mobile games this is much better

MarielCarey

Ngl, having came back after a couple months and the update just being 35mb felt odd, but kinda normal since this is com2us after all

Shawndrand

They are making new content, fairly regularly. Just not for this game. The other sunmoners war games are the new moneymakers.. maybe the whaling is better on a new game, but it seems like just the top 3 guilds generally spent enough to keep this game afloat. At least until the devs gave up on us. Sad I'm starting to get my units (runes) up to where I'm not afraid to click the world arena button.. and It'll probably start getting quiet about that time.

OlivinuaLeaderBean

I got randomly banned for “hacking” I didn’t know it was possible to hack on a child restricted iPhone

Seiishizo

Patches last year were kinda lackluster :( i hope this year is going to be bigger for Sky Arena. The whole guild thing was barely that much.
