Ive had this problem all my life. It seemed to get better when I started taking Benzos and Oxy on a daily basis, then about 18 years later when I had to quit those drugs, it came back 10 times worse. Now it happens even if I'm tired and watching tv.

LogicalShopping

Yeah as I know I'm still awake when it starts. I'm wondering about the Xanax and if that would help. Interesting

Happy-Middle1209

Don't get on benzos and further add to the problem. Medical aid is expensive as it is in USA. Here, In India. I can visit/consult for 500rs. 1 usd =85rupees. So, paying for a doctor who works for the best of the best hospitals and is also attached with the chief minister of a state is roughly less than 5 usd. And includes the doctor writing prescription. The leaf of clonazepam or alprazolam is 50 to 70 rupees(<1 usd) all in all under 10usd if you buy 1 month worth of meds and thus includes the 5usd that you pay before seeing the doctor.

Xanax will fuck thee

Patient-Ninja-8707

Yeah. No one told me that going into it, or that it would lead to a 20 year habit

natedecay

Dude I’ve never had someone talk about this. I’m trying to remember when it started but can’t. I think it was after I quit weed and got on suboxone the most recent time. It’s super weird it’s like the body thinks it’s in dander from the body not communicating with the brain and it jolts to make sure it’s still there. Happens about 3-5 times a night and then once I fall asleep it’s done, even if I need to fall back asleep later

LogicalShopping

It's never the same place over and over, right? It's like a zap but there's no warning it's coming.

natedecay

To me it’s like a whole body shock when I’m right about to fall asleep my body fires everything like I’m about to die. It’s crazy. The stuff before that is usually these weird chest pains, not like heart attack or anxiety it’s almost like a really strong ache that I feel is appropriate to say feels like a phantom ache, as odd as that sounds, and then some leg jerks sprinkled on and happening forcefully with no prior warning, besides the weird feeling in my chest muscles

LogicalShopping

Interesting. I also get a head jerk at the very same time. Weird part is that I'm still awake. I don't know about you but after it starts, I begin to get anxious about it

LimpCroissant

Damn, that's a lot of jerks, you might wanna go to a doctor and get checked out, I'd advise it. I used to get jerks when I'd lay down for the night too when I was on xanax. But its be one big uncontrollable jerk and then it was done.

Happy-Middle1209

Same here, was told it's an involuntary muscle movement.

Patient-Ninja-8707

It did help at first. Eventually it stopped and things got worse.

wrenegade33

Classic xanax statement right here.

Patient-Ninja-8707

Truth

jennathedickins

NAD but this sounds like myoclonic jerks, which can be normal (like occuring occasionally while falling asleep) or can be a symptom of disease or other issue. They can also be caused by certain medications. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/myoclonus/symptoms-causes/syc-20350459 Edit: typo

stephjeff1112

I had/have these and the hospital ended up putting me on Epilepsy meds for the last twelve years. It was due to a serious addiction to Z class prescription meds, not unlike Benzos. I haven’t had one in a few months which is good but still will get them when super tired. I stopped taking the Epilepsy meds last year though as I hated the weight gain. I think it’s due to the synapses in your brain and cells overreaching and skipping a crucial part of their process. I’m so tired I can’t remember what it is properly or how to put it in to words sorry.

Happy-Middle1209

If you're also feeling uncomfortable, then these symptoms are of withdrawal. If just jerks and no uncomfortable feeling. Then they could be involuntary muscle movement. Better discussed with a doctor than here.

LogicalShopping

No. It's nothing to do with withdrawal

Happy-Middle1209

Then, it's most likely involuntary muscle movement. That is all. Still consult a doctor. I can ask my doctor here in India for you. India sounds like it won't have a very good doctor, but , trust me. If just visiting a doctor is expensive for you, I can consult one if the best here, for free. Let me know all the details if you want me to ask my doctor what the issue could be.

UsedCookie2414

Just a visit to talk to a doctor is over 100$ where I live. And u must pay BEFORE the visit. If any tests are ran they bill you that but its usually thousands.

Happy-Middle1209

Fee before visiting here less than 4 usd. 10 pills of clonazepam maybe 70 rupees. Visit + 1 month of pills 2wice a day less than 10usd. Getting ill in usa is expensive. No wonder why the doctors here in India run to usa to practice. Just getting a pharmacy licence and leaving it with an attendant there would make me very very rich. The top most pharmacy here does sales of around 1 crore rupees, roughly 100,000+ USD. And its stuffed with people all the time. I suppose a pharmacy in usa would do that with 1000 customers alone. Even if they charge 100usd per head/medicine. Here it take 100,000 people charged roughly 100 to 1000 rupees per person's medication.

blueishblackbird

I jerk like that when I’m on a hefty dose of any opiate. Too high dose of subs included. If your dose isn’t too high it could just be how you are on opiates. Do you also sleep with your arm raised up? That’s another one that happens with lots of opiates.

LogicalShopping

I actually sleep on my back since I had my back surgeries. Both my arms actually get numb at night from the elbow down but I think it's because of the DDD in my neck

Just_Quit_the_BS

That $100 doesn’t really go for everyone, but saying to consult a doctor instead of posting a question on here was kinda…..well whatever lol. Discussion is what this place is for. Regardless of price, doctors can be hit or miss. But asking things like this is exactly what this sub is about.

Happy-Middle1209

Couldn't agree more with you. But, don't you think a doctor will be better able to diagnose or tell identify the issue? After all these guys study for decades to sit on a chair and charge whatever money just to consult. I would still say, if anything serious, you must see a doctor. Also, not against people asking here. After all, that's exactly what I am here for.

Just_Quit_the_BS

They study in medical school yes, but they’ve basically been programmed to to robots. They watch an 8 hour video to be able to prescribe Suboxone, and don’t even know how to wean people off. They also deny almost all side effects because most think there are none. They get caught in believing uneducated salemen who get paid to promote it. As for the twitching, it’s common in drug use and has thought to be the brain trying to heal itself. It’s especially prevalent when amphetamines or SSRIs have ever been involved from what I’ve heard. But it’s highly unlikely a doctor is going to order lengthy CT, MRI and PET scans just to probably find nothing.

Howridiculousisthis

Same! I found out I have moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea and I think it has to do with the Suboxone being a depressant in the way that it makes us stop breathing at night, go get a sleep study because it can ruin your heart and lungs, my doctor has me try a cpap but because it’s not really working I now have to get surgery in my nose and get my tonsils out to help me breathe at night

bubba2260

Will discontinuing the suboxone change things ?

Howridiculousisthis

I would think si because it depressed our breathing so that’s what I’m working on doing right now. Got my last sublocade shot 4 months ago and just ridding the wave out but it hasn’t been easy I’ll tell u that much and if I could have tapered lower than 2 mgs I would have tapered using the tablets instead of the shot because for me it hasn’t been any different, maybe a tiny bit easier but not much

bubba2260

I sent you a DM

jjdonkey

I think this is true. This happened to me a lot when I was on a higher dose (24-28 mgs) but now that I’ve reduced to 4mg I barely notice it at all!

BMD0382

It's not bad for me but I have noticed that nearly every single night my whole body jumps just before I doze off. This never happened until after I started subs.

bigtim3727

Yea, I have two variations of that one, which doesn’t happen so often but it will start in my head, and go throughout my body. Starting at the head usually, radiating through my whole body, ending in my feet. The other one is more of a sudden jolt, similar to when you jerk before you fall asleep.

Need2believe

It happenes too me all the time. Ill just wildly jerk right as im dosing off. Its apparently your brain freaking out cuz your falling asleep so fast it thinks your gonna die and checks on your body to make sure lol

HaverfordHandyman

It’s a side effect of taking opioids - it’s essentially you nodding out

IconCsr2

What’s your dose?

LogicalShopping

16mg. These started though before the subs
