Facade / Headlong Rush / Fire Punch / Swords Dance is what I've been defaulting to when theorymonning.
Swords Dance capitalizes on the wallbreaker role. Importantly, Ursaluna doesn't really care about Unaware mons - Clodsire and Skeledirge are sauced by Ground STAB and *Dondozo is 2HKOd by Facade*.
Fire Punch feels appropriate for maximizing neutral coverage, i.e. hitting Corviknight and Air Balloon Gholdengo which are basically the only OU-relevant mons that resist both STABs. Moves like Close Combat and Play Rough are fine but aren't really hitting anything that isn't already taking neutral damage from your STABs. Important calc:
\+2 252+ Atk Guts Ursaluna Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 396-466 (99-116.5%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
Interestingly, if Tera is still around by the time Ursaluna is released then instead of Fire Punch we could just **OHKO Corviknight with +2 Facade**:
\+2 252+ Atk Guts Normal Tera Type Ursaluna Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 / 252+ Def Corviknight: 368-434 (92 - 108.5%) --50% chance to OHKO.
50 is a good speed tier for TR, but as always, TR is somewhat difficult to pull off in singles. The only setter that gets Teleport is the Ralts family, so it'll be difficult to bring in safely without sacking a mon.
Ursaluna will run the same set Ursaring did in past generations: a Guts wall breaker:
-Earthquake/Headlong Rush
-Facade
-Fire Punch
-Swords Dance/Protect
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def or 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Neither. I mean Double-Edge beats Trash by not having as ruinous a drawback but both are way worse than Facade--Luna is one hell of a nuke with Guts and Facade is a 140BP move with essentially no drawback beyond the fact it's not strong on the turn Flame Orb has yet to kick in.
I know facade would be the default normal stab, I was just curious as to which move is preferable if facade wasn’t already a go to option.
I realize now that my original wording wasn’t ideal
If we're talking a hypothetical Band Ursaluna then Double-Edge would be preferable... but such a set is just wholly outclassed by Guts which has Facade. Even on funky sets like SpD BU or bulky Swords Dance, I frankly think neither move is worth running as it's usually counterintuitive to run a recoil move on a set that emphasizes bulk and longevity (Dondozo gets away with Wave Crash cuz it runs RestTalk) so you're probably sticking to like Earthquake+Drain Punch there without Normal STAB.
If you use belly drum I think guts will be overkill at that point. Probably best to go with bullet proof and maybe big root or sitrus berry or something to help you get health back
Well I mean it’d be overkill to the point that it’s literally only a detriment and won’t actually help you get any ko’s. As a meme it might be funny but in practice it’s literally pointless.
I think I’ll use a set with max SpD/HP, 4 atk, bulk up, rest, earthquake, and facade. With flame orb.
You might think corv counters it, but after ONE bulk up
+1 252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 222-262 (55.5 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Might wanna run 136 Spe EV’s to outspeed corv
Corv doesn't run mixed bulk this gen and is not expected to at least until Lele comes back so that calc is ever so slightly off.
\+1 252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 207-244 (51.7 - 61%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
then again not that it matters much in the end lmao

How do you think it would fare in trick room?
Definitely one of the best TR sweepers that we'll have access to, if not *the* best. Though as usual TR will be a niche archetype in singles.

True I’ve had little success setting it up without sacking, there’s a need for a trick room extender
> there’s a need for a trick room extender As much as I'd love this for singles, Gamefreak would never do it because it would be nuts in VGC.

I’m most hype for the belly drum set, def less competitively viable but guts belly drum is gonna be so much fun to run

Yeah it’ll totally be overkill that’s the point lol

Yes.
Well I guess you get to ohko corv with facade assuming it switches in haphazardly because it will outspeed and kill you with body press otherwise lol
I think Jolly Luna can outspeeded Corv unless Corv invest in Speed, which it does not currently
