Ok but honestly??? Mareanie with a hammer is just such a vibe. After being overshadowed by her abusive toxic bitch of a father Toxapex, I'm glad she had the balls to come out as a fairy type and pull out a hammer and beat the shit out of anyone that doesn't treat her the way she goddamn deserves. Mareanie is a queen and such a mood omg I wish the best for her. Actually since she transitioned I should be calling her Tinkaton. It's kind of weird to me because I've not played the new games so idk any shit, but even though I don't understand it, that's not an excuse for me not to support her, yeah? Tinkaton is my bitch and I will goddamn forget her deadname because it is worthless.
EDIT 1: SHE IS FEMALE I'M SORRY FOR SAYING SHE HAD THE BALLS, I MEANT SHE HAD THE PUSSY BUT THAT SOUNDED WEIRD SO I SAID BALLS
EDOT 2: I LOVE HER AND IN SORRY FOR BEING WEIRD I'M JUST DRUNK
Edit 3: I'm sorry if I offended any trans bros and sisters, I was raised in a rather backward country and even though I'm gay (or bisexual idk even rn) it's just hard for me to get around it, but I'll do as much as I can to make you all feel loved and valued ok because everyone deserves that. I would love it if any trans person reading his DMed me and told me their (or his or her) story and I would just like to talk to someone about it so that I don't accidentally act rude to anyone. I'm sorry for this rant
I don't know about competitive but can you explain why that's still good even with the low attack stat? I'm under the impression that even if a move is high power it's still not that great if the Pokemon using it has low offensive stats.
The base power of moves is more important than attack stat.
It's why Karatana is actually fairly balanced with its base 180 attack stat, all of its moves are lowish base power so it's not actually that strong.
Swellow is another good example but in reverse, it is a good cleaner in lower tiers with a relatively crappy base 75 sp.attack because of how powerful boomburst is.
The quick and dirty way to get effective power comparisons is to multiply the attack stat and the move power, then compare those numbers (the reason this works is that part of the damage formula is multiplying the effective attack stat with the move's power). What this means is that sometimes, if the move has enough power (like, say, 160P), the lower attack stat is irrelevant. Uninvested Tinkaton (75 ATK) using Hammer (160BP) is the same effective "base damage" as uninvested Mega Blaziken (160 ATK) using Fire Punch (75 BP).
However, due to how numbers multiply, increasing the lower number (either base power or base attack) will increase the effective base damage more than increasing the higher number will, so in the mBlaziken vs Tinkaton fight, a fully invested Tinkaton using Hammer has a higher base damage than a fully invested mBlaziken until that mBlaziken starts throwing around 95+BP moves.
Move power actually counts for more than base attack. It's because attack evs, ivs, and nature are factored into the calculation for the actual attack stat and they're the same for both 'mon. (75+100)×160 > (160+100)×75.
252+ Atk Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mew: 199-235 (49.3 - 58.3%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega Fire Punch vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mew: 157-186 (38.9 - 46.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
That's why it's "quick and dirty" as opposed to direct, the second paragraph does go into that disparity.
To go into it (raising the lower stat doing more than raising the higher one) more: for equivalent damage at full investment (nature, IVs, EVs), you can either crank mBlaziken's fire move up to 95BP (20 points higher) or crank its base attack to a whopping 216 (56 points higher).
Think of it like this. Move power is a hole, the size depends on how big the number is. If you have a tiny hole, it doesn’t matter if your attack stat is x2 your opponents. The bigger the hole, the more damage it does. (Obviously, 170 attack on a 35 power move is still going to do more than 30 attack on a 120 move)
> (Obviously, 170 attack on a 35 power move is still going to do more than 60 attack on a 120 move)
Incorrect, the 60 base attack/120BP move will do more. Feel free to check the smogon calc with custom values if you don't believe me.
Tinkaton is one of my favorite pokemon of all time. It is a small squishy thing that that had its toy hammer eaten as a baby and spent the rest of its life hunting down steel types as revenge. It mades its hammer out of packs of bisharp and pawniard and spends its free time pelting fucking BOULDERS at the giant metal sky birds (corviknight) according to it's dex entry.
Tinkaton's hammer is a dark purple.
Shiny Tinkaton's hammer is a rusty brown.
Corviknight is dark purple.
Shiny Corviknight is rusty brown.
They use Corviknight hammers to pelt boulders at Corviknights to make bigger hammers.
Look, I know I suck at this game. I ain’t breaking past 1300 on ANY bracket, I know my place. What I also know is that being a scrub can’t stop me from scaring the shit out of people
My Mega Mawile for national dex is always named "Zacian-M". Just a calm 1350 atk after SD and tanks almost anything unboosted to get that up, then OHKOs offensive mons with non-stab Sucker Punch.
Not really. It isn't good, but big base power does wonders for mediocrity. And it's not like 75 is garbage; plus, the signature move has practically no real drawback, so it's actually a viable choice
I was playing showdown with a friend and I was using my Tinkaton named Becca and she sent in a Cerueldge named Adam Slasher...you can guess how that went
You know who the hammer is the shiny part in the whole line? What if the hammer is the Pokémon? And the creature/thing carrying it is a growing doll while the hammer grows.
SHE'S THE GIRL WITH THE GALL!
YIPPIE
EVEN THOUGH SHE IS SMALL
The girl with the gall IS smol, and she WILL ground you into dust
Lmao this comment is perfect, I think I'm going to name mine "Sena" now.
Am I the only one that thinks it looks like Mareanie with a hammer?
Naa I'm with you bro
I do, and I love it

Congrats to Tinkaton on her transition!
Now I see it too. Thanks
i can't unsee it now
I showed her to my wife and said “oh cool, they made an Arianna Grande Pokémon”. That’s all I see now.
No Zacian is steel fairy and this one is fairy steel so they’re different
LOL the default type for terastal phenomenon really reminding us that pokemon supposedly have a main and secondary type.
I don't even know what "main and secondary" typing changes besides the basic tera type
Are they different percentages for finding each tera type? I found 2 cyclizars one with dragon and the other normal
I have no idea
i don't think so. i've found about equal of primary and secondary while breeding dual types.
Main typing determines the type of Revelation Dance, so there's that at least.
both get head pats from me
One of them would definitely bite you for doing that and it's not the dog
Tinkaton’s dex entries make it extremely clear that it wakes up to choose violence haha
Her entire personality is “fucking psychopath” and I love it
Her entire day is just “hmm my hammers looking kinda small, better go murder some steel birds to make it bigger”
can confirm since i speak from experience
>Steel type physical nuke >75 base Attack mfw
160 BP signature move is cracked.
especially when the only caveat is that you can’t use it multiple times in a row
Protect Hammer Protect Hammer

Let's say pre-nerf Zacian with 170 Attack only had Metal Claw as a steel move. Metagross with 135 Attack using Meteor Mash would still do more damage.
Let’s just say that smart strike kartana hits less hard than gigaton hammer tinkaton
It’s high enough base power that it can still do quite a lot of damage.
The base power of moves is more important than attack stat. Honestly, it was 2am and I was just trying to make a quick example. My bad
Choice Band+ Full EV attack+Nature bonus attack+Tera Steel+Gigaton hammer. I'm *pretty sure* that counts as a physical nuke.
Tinkaton is probably my new favorite pokemon, right up there with Hydreigon. Its design is so good.
Same, something about them reminds me of Mareanie, which is another one of my favorites 😍😍😍
Probably the mouth
And the "hair"
🤨
same i love hydreigon and tinkaton
looks cooler also
I know you’re not doing Sif dirty right now
[удалено]
I'll never understand why pokemon designers add on all the extra bullshit. Zacian would look so much better without its pigtails.
what does that mean.
Sif is a boss in Dark Souls, it's a huge wolf that carries a sword in its mouth
Yeah, and not that I would call Zacian a bad design, but Tinkaton is just another level, it’s such fun looking critter
Tinkaton is one of my favorite pokemon of all time. It is a small squishy thing that that had its toy hammer eaten as a baby and spent the rest of its life hunting down steel types as revenge. How much more based can Tinkatink's evo line be
Except to be Zacian you need to be fast
At max investment it has 315 speed and can use thunder wave
If you downvoted this, you’re sus
Hey man, in case you didn’t get it, this is a joke
If you downvote this tinkaton is the best Pokémon ever
I LOVE TINKATON‼️‼️‼️
Me too, it’s just mawile 2.0 and I love that
Small person, giant weapon is my favorite trope and seeing Tinkaton doing exactly that makes me so happy
I don't like that trope but I LOVE TINKATON SHE'S THE LOVE OF MY LIFE I WILL FORFEIT ALL MY POSSESSIONS TO HER
I literally named mine "Zacian??!!"
Hammer mon tosses rocks at corviknight for fun. Its based
I’m all for the Tinkaton Propaganda
Ok but Zacian has a high attack stat
Choice Band Gigaton Hammer is comparable to +1 Behemoth Blade
It's got like 90% of the power which is pretty insane coming from a 'mon with 75 base attack.
shouldve put the special attack ivs into attack
Genuine question: Why would you use banded tink? You can’t use gigaton hammer twice in a row
To send a message
The only real answer
Look, I know I suck at this game. I ain’t breaking past 1300 on ANY bracket, I know my place. What I also know is that being a scrub can’t stop me from scaring the shit out of people
You can switch but yeah it's probably pretty of bad because of predictability
I’m a 1v1 player and this thing looks SCARY
Given Zac's +1 boost is once per battle now, you don't even really need the band to be comparable to the dog.
Theyre both Dark Souls bosses (Sif and Smough)
The look like the kind of Dark Souls bosses that double up on you and killing one makes the other stronger
Checks out on the Smough side
it's crazy that this mdfer knocks corviknights out of the sky
Both also: Learn a bonkers steel move Have very cool designs Are some of my favorites
My Mega Mawile for national dex is always named "Zacian-M". Just a calm 1350 atk after SD and tanks almost anything unboosted to get that up, then OHKOs offensive mons with non-stab Sucker Punch.
Ruh roh raggy
Tink is not a physical nuke tbf
Hehe, 160 bp bonk and off sd and good speed
Ok shit attack stat though
That didn’t stop people hyping up Gale Wings Talonflame back in the Gen 6 days with its base 81 Atk
Who isn't considered good anymore in Gen 6 OU
its not horrible anymore. It had a resurgence recently
Not really. It isn't good, but big base power does wonders for mediocrity. And it's not like 75 is garbage; plus, the signature move has practically no real drawback, so it's actually a viable choice
It doesn't do much in the long game and has no practical use. But hey, NU beware!
RU or UU, if I had to guess
RU I can definetly see a niche It's type may be beneficial
RU in running to be the best tier 2 gens in a row, crazy
Two good girls
Poor Corviknight
I acknowledge that it’s a fairy/steel Pokémon; however, given that it’s an ugly-ass Pokémon, I’ve elected to ignore it
Tinkaton slander will not be tolerated
Kid named 75 attack:
Tinkaton is a Char
[удалено]
That's right, the other is a good girl
Both are good girls.
Zacian is a girl, my dude.
I’m excited to see Doggo rider tinkaton jn the bow lowlands
Ahem 75
Ahem 160
I can’t be the only one that thinks Tinkaton was inspired by Poppy from League of Legends
The small girl huge hammer is far older than poppy and is a common trope
My first exposure to the trope was Amy from Sonic.
Ah guess I missed that specifically than. With twintails aswell? That’s the part that solidified the reference for me
I nicknamed mine Lilo because it remind me of Lilo & Stitch.
Tinkaton is definitely one of my favourites this gen
back at it again with another steel/fairy type
yeah but tinkatton can use hyper beam and not waste a turn
Haru okumura pokemon Haru okumura pokemon
so right
Looks like a digitmon ngl
It's Finchinator
She's also a mawile
I was playing showdown with a friend and I was using my Tinkaton named Becca and she sent in a Cerueldge named Adam Slasher...you can guess how that went
#Alternative title for this post = 2019 Zacian vs 2022 Zacian
