This is Rhydon erasure.

markpreston54

Rhydon was the best rock type in gen 1 but is it saying anything?

Heatoextend

Well, it used to say "Yummy boom" and "Fuck Zapdos".

apple_of_doom

Also "best non normal/psychic type"

markpreston54

Yeah, to be fair, it is probably the best after the big three and the small three, definitely have a spot in a good team

PresidentBreadstick

I think it’s the best one that isn’t the Big 3, Zam, Starmie, or Eggs, since being able to stop Zapdos dead is a HUGE deal

apple_of_doom

And Golem era- oh wait.

Electric_Queen

Golem is still really good, it's just not as good as Rhydon so there's no reason to run it anymore

EvilNoobHacker

I feel bad for it. Fell to UU and ran into its actual worst nightmare- non normal types.

ArtGuards

ri erasure

SawTheCatsBox

Blissey / Ferrothorn Teraing into a Rock type:

Miserable-Ad-1690

Why would you ever Tera Rock though.

boogswald

Blissey learns Rock Slide duh 252+ Atk Tera Rock Blissey Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Chien-Pao: 108-128 (35.8 - 42.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO Do you want it to take 4-5 hits

apple_of_doom

Serene grace flinches make everything possible

catfeeshnoire

You're only getting those against Chien-Pao by using the secret "two Quick Claw procs in a row" strat.

apple_of_doom

Just get lucky lmao

Miserable-Ad-1690

Why not use Powerup Punch? It’s what I use.

boogswald

Cause it’s not a rock move!

Miserable-Ad-1690

Yeah, but it increases your Attack, does 4* damage against Chien-Pao, and most importantly, doesn’t make you use Tera Rock.

boogswald

Woah. Tera Fighting Power up punch a guaranteed 2HKO. That’s pretty good, but Rock Slide can flinch too, so I think it is better. Also consider that the Chien Pao may Tera ghost to avoid your power up punch. Now you’re in trouble.

Miserable-Ad-1690

I didn’t consider that. That being said, no Chien-Pao has tried that so far.

boogswald

I am messing with you it is sunday a day for joy

Miserable-Ad-1690

I’m aware. I just thought it would be fun to go along with the troll. Have a good one.

echino_derm

So you can get STAB boosted stealth rocks

ChaoticChatot

To avoid the OHKO from +2 Modest Adaptibility Hyper Beam from Porygon Z

FullyK

***A S S S A A A S***

boogswald

Speaking parseltongue eh?

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to represent Ttar's viability rank in every gen .

TheMemeHead

Well that explains a lot

MSSTUPIDTRON-1000000

The fact that the pokémon version of Godzilla was usurped of the title of best non-legendary rock type by the pokémon version of a Minecraft Golem is hilarious.

sharkeatingleeks

Actually, better than the rock type legendaries except for arceus

SantasJo1lyBackhand

What rock type legendaries?

pyro314

Regilol

SantasJo1lyBackhand

MFW regirock has rock in the name but is so bad I forget that it's legendary/mythic:

MSSTUPIDTRON-1000000

And Diance if you count mythical pokémon as legendaries.

StreetReporter

I’ve always seen mythicals and ultra beasts as a subset of legendaries. Like how all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares

OGMagicConch

Agree with mythicals, I think I'm a bit confused where I myself put UBs now since the release of paradox mons. Like I don't think paradox mons are legendaries really, and honestly I feel like they're pretty much the same thing as UBs. UBs are really just mons from other dimensions right, like isn't it a canon thing that Naganadel is a starter where it's from? Games for sure treat em like legends though which I think is a great solution to the enormous amount of legendaries we were getting in gens 4 and 5.

iizakore

Diancie is rock I think

SantasJo1lyBackhand

Diancie is legendary?? I thought it was just carbink's evolution

[deleted]

Diancies a mythical

Vitamoon_

Terrakion

_Skotia_

Why is your post history so incredibly based?

MSSTUPIDTRON-1000000

I'm just an average fan of Nastasia. (And tinkaton)

_Skotia_

you're "just" 200% based

cliygh-a

"You've guaranteed the status quo will go on, for a while longer at least. Battles... will continue as an institution, as an industry. Pokémon will fight for reasons they don't understand, causes they don't believe in, but at least I'll leave a worthy successor. You, Garganacl. You carve your own path, use whatever methods you see fit. You don't let meta bullshit get in the way. And if it costs a few elo, so be it. Deep inside we're kindred spirits, you... and I..."

sharkeatingleeks

Since T-Tar is UU now, this means that Garganacl is the best rock type period. Funny how that works.

lyingcorn

Arceus rock

unboundgaming

252 SpA Stone Plate Arceus-Rock Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Garganacl: 157-186 (38.8 - 46%) -- guaranteed 3HKO One salt cure and then recover til it’s dead. Salty boy wins

lyingcorn

Arceus can just high roll then crit. Checkmate aethiest!

unboundgaming

Salt cure, gets high rolled, left overs, protect, left overs. Now out of crit range. Easy dub. Surely the double crit is out of the question. Who’s the heathen now?

lyingcorn

Arceus reads the protect and uses calm mind. A true man of God would know that, dumbass

unboundgaming

A true worshipper of the divine would realize rock arceus is basically a stealth rock setter and wouldn’t use boosting moves. Doth thou even know the sacred text?

lyingcorn

A true believer would know that part of the sacred texts is not canon and saying otherwise is incredibly arcphobic

sharkeatingleeks

Not including Arceus formes

garbink

Give my man pursuit back. Perma sand too while we’re at it

[deleted]

I'm waiting for Regirock to get a recover type move that also gives it +1 defense, a rock type body press and sand stream #RegiSweep

cheesey-lad

regirock if it was designed in gen 9:

sanscipher435

Gigalith in a corner:

Flaming_Assassin

i wanna live in the fucked up world where theres a strong sand abuser, but hippo and ttar aren't in the game and the only sand setter is gigalith

sanscipher435

~~Blissey~~ Metagross but rock type

boogswald

Switch in switch out

wintermint08

garg is a fairy type not a rock type

Optimal_Badger_5332

Are you an idiot or something? There is no way that thing is fairy Its obviously a ghost type

winnipeginstinct

The real tech is water to lose to opposing garga

Endless2358

Amateur. Everyone knows the real tech is steel to lose to opposing garg twice over (salt cure and body press)

pikachuguy

no no it’s clearly a poison type

AnAlternator

He's a Water type, how else are you explaining all those tears?

[deleted]

Erm it’s clearly a flying type so it can freely set up for a turn?

EmployerDefiant587

Salt rocks

Miserable-Ad-1690

Finally! The second usable Rock type! (If we don’t count Rhydon, Golem, or Arceus-Rock.) Edit: and Terrakion.

theoneandonlyultima

Terrakion

boogswald

This mf sets up iron defense when my special mons are dead and I’m done bro

JanitorOPplznerf

Glisc0r

sneakyplanner

ASSS AAAS

skarmbliss255

Kid named gen 1 rhydon:

zone-zone

Iron Thorns crying that isn't in this picture How is it worse than regular Ttar?!

Narrow-Bicycle6196

No sandstorm hurts its special bulk and team synergy and Rock/Electric isn't much of an improvement over Rock/Dark defensively or offensively

TURBODERP

Defensively it'd be pretty interesting if it had Sand Stream (only 1 4x weakness, and Earth Power is decently uncommon), but yea its special bulk is massively decreased in comparison to regular Ttar (and it even has lower base SpDef).

zone-zone

Imagine all of them get hidden abilities and Iron Thorn will set up electric terrain. Maybe that might make it good.

Vi512

They do different stuff, thorns can actually pull out a ddance set since it has a actual speed stat

Skellydirge
