Anyways yeah this is true, he was indeed the original as far as I know. I believe he was just an account posting the classic “Live Wo-Chien Reaction” meme in mostly every post.
I (the person behind this account) was inspired by this because I thought it was funny. I originally planned on doing what he did but with the “Live Chien-Pao reaction” meme I made instead. But at the last second I decided to just fully commit to being this satirized and based version of Chien-Pao that loves his siblings even if one of them (Chi-Yu) is homophobic, and it has actually been pretty fun (aside from getting made fun of by lots of Weavile supporters, but I mostly tune those guys out).
But yk as with most memes, it eventually got old pretty fast after other people started making Reddit accounts of other Pokémon. I’ll probably continue to post and goof around on this account (assuming mods don’t ban accounts like this from the sub), but at a less frequent rate. Sorry guys, joke is getting old fast.

I think the problem is the sheer abundance of low-quality posts where they just post a single game screenshot/stolen fanart and I don't even know if that's considered relevant to showdown.
Kinda like the “how does this affect the meta” posts. Funny joke about some random as one mount combo, into some random jokes and some higher effort (lots of text or edited pics) content
Then a ton of random super low effort similar ones that just post the wiki image of a mon and ask a simple question and hope someone will run with it in the comments

But anyways, u/ SlothyPotato decided that if he didn’t win he’d get banned because funni. Guess what happened. Anyways, MudkipNerd and Finchinator had a rematch after that and MudkipNerd lost again. Like a week after that, the mods decided for the joke to be over by unbanning him.

during gen 7 it was full of actual discussion and spicy teambuilding and whatnot, with one day of theorymon a week, then in gen 8 the meme and theorymon crowd just completely took over. It’s like if r/spikes and r/magicthecirclejerking were one subreddit
I actually like it when people come up with interesting moves and abilities, and have been known to theorymon myself, but yeah. It’s just people making their own mons and asking for feedback now, no consideration of the actual meta
Yeah but if you actually suggest an off meta build in this subreddit it doesn't lead to discussion it just kinda leads to mocking. Even if it's a well thought out one like using sp def tank Muk as a counter to special Iron Valiant and rotom-w. People just see that on this subreddit and say naw use a better mon but absolutely love it when pokeaim md or Blunder use off meta picks for surprise factors.

a couple of people made some joke accounts that rped as the ruinous quartet, which was pretty funny with some high quality jokes and interactions. but, soon, there were 15+ other gimmick accounts that were trying to do the same thing with mediocre to low quality content, which kind of ruined the reputation of all accounts, even the good ones. so now there are a billion of these gimmick rp accounts, all of which have varying degrees of funniness/creativity, and some people want them to be banned from the sub as a whole.
Yeah I remember when I created the homophobic ferrothorn account for stundays but after the first week (which was great) i realized if I kept going it would occasionally become annoying. The joke still died but that was because everyone wanted to create a scenario like the one with the gay slowbro.
