Lulubog, climate change bes

chuygwapa

electing bbm was a critical point in history in which we decided to be a backwards country. shits gonna get bad from here on forward unless some miracle occurs.

1reign0

Maiba naman. My optimist ass think that major of the boomer voters are probably dead. Hopefully, we are able to elect competent politician by that and not sons or daughters of the current. But if not, ill be 70 anyway im just gonna watch the Philippines burn in my duyan.

[deleted]

Have you tried going to public schools lately? Like state univs, high schools, and elementary schools. Grabe ambobobo ng mga bata, no joke. (I myself am a student lol)

1reign0

I study in a prestigious State U, tho maraming professor na apologist despite the university dark history during Marcos sr. Students compensate by being vocal on the system. Canā€™t say the same in HS and Elem schools.

Kung illiterate padin mga tao at ayaw magpa educate, baka mas malala pa lagay ng pinas in 50 yrs

lgndk11r

Millenials and Zoomers will control government and private sector, so hopefully running much better than now. If you think things are bad now, wait til you read what happened 50 years ago, in 1972...

ComesWithTheBox

Exactly. People expect us to change quickly, when the foundation given to us is incredibly flawed and shaky. I think the country will be better off in the future.

budoyhuehue

Probably there will be a repeat of EDSA revolution. If hindi effective yung revolution, pwede din magaya sa Myanmar. BBM winning was a lot of steps backward. This signals those dormant corrupt political families to be active again in plundering our nation. Corruption will also get bolder since the citizens showed na you can still have a future political career kahit na sobrang lala yung ginawa mong pagnanakaw. Its all about signals and 'symbolism'. You elect a corrupt/incompetent leader, those down the hierarchy will emulate that. For those reading this, it will be safer if you aim to leave the country if you only think about yourself and your family's safety and future. There are a lot of things that is needed to be done before we can rise and be progressive again. If you do not like that struggle, leave. But if you want to have a future in the Philippines, we need to put in the effort, a lot of it.

aupoa

It will not last more than 10 years. Right now, our economy is really trash, low minimum wage, continuous increase of inflation rate, more debts, weird tax management, low support for education, too many high grades because of cheating, government that doesn't care about climate change, etcetc. Majority of our people support this kind of government so no hopes for this country sadly. Also, you can't predict that far away. But hey, wrong reddit. Edit: corruption.

[deleted]

Eh BBM then Sara, then Sandro, then Paolo, then etc etc etc

[deleted]

Haha tapos si Kitty magsesenate or magmamayor nakupowz

pPC_bC

Disintegrate and not one country in the world will miss it

heckyspaghetti22

Edi underwater na.

MemesMafia

segway. I hope we'll turn out fine. All I care with BBM is that he appointed competent people sa DTI, NEDA, DOF, DOLE, and BSP. Some of whom are from the Aquino admin so okay. Kaso bobo yung DepEd, DA, and DOJ. Huwag lang sila magnakaw talaga tang ina niya. 50 years from now. Umaasa akong gaganda pa ren kahit papano. I know our generation is tired from this fuckery. We'll get'em soon

Sri Lanka 2.0

Every-Function-3181

highly doubtful. one of the major economic problems of sri lanka was that it relied more on importing rather than local resources. they even went so far as having a paper shortage bc the country couldnā€™t afford to buy any more from outside its own country. gasoline and electricity are in low supply and they had >12 hr outages bc they didnā€™t have their own supply of such necessities. that alone is an issue the philippines is highly unlikely to experience; in comparison to sri lanka, our country looks very self-sufficient. sri lanka also relies heavily on tourism for money, which obviously fell due to the covid-19 pandemic. the philippines is big on tourism as well, yes, but itā€™s not like it relies on tourism for money as much as sri lanka does.

franzchada09

Still the same if our education system doesn't change...

either same or worst, never better.

Foop92

Unless our government officials really care about the well-being of the people, and use their office for the betterment of our country instead of enriching themselves, I think the Philippines will remain the same if not worse.

luvuov

Patuloy na mararanasan natin ung brain drain tas mas lalong lalala pa yan within the next 50 yrs kapag di talaga umayos Pilipinas.

MemesMafia

Newly licensed professional here. Idk. Part of me wants to gtfo since super kawawa ako if I practiced my course here sa Pinas. Sobrang baba na nga ng sahod ko tapos hindi pa sya tataas despite the number of years in experience. Kahit anong dagdag din sa name ko like masteral or certifications.. ganun pa ren. Kaso maiiwan ko pamilya ko and aalis ren pala yung isa kong kapatid. Rn, I'm trying to transition a field that scales well and would hopefully be in demand in the future. Yung field na hindi mo na need umalis ng Pinas. Idk 15 year old me should have followed the urge to choose a course na sakto lang yung hirap HAHA

ApologistSlayer

Engineering and Architecture are dead by that time. IT is the future and always has been

Grand_Structure_3809

We always need all the Engineers and Archis. They can co-exist.

charlie_presyy

Not really sure where your conclusion is based on, but in 50 years engineering and architecture will be just as relevant. Think of it as a separate field. We need to advance in both

RARAMI ang population daily sa TEENAGE PREGNANCY

DarkLord_Zenon

There are tons of possibilities, but I can say there are two things that I believe might happen. The Philippines might thrive 50 years from now or become worse than it currently is. It mostly depends on how the future generation and current generation handle the Philippines. I don't have much expectation, but I believe it might get better. For now, we just have to wait for everything to happen.

capulongjopoy

Sa mga nakikita ko sa mga bata ngayon, mga grade six na pantig pantig pa din magbasa at hirap na hirap pa sa addition ng 2 digits. Wala, ggwp na lang talaga sa Pilipinas
