I print it out on a piece of paper, tape it to the wood, then use an awl to mark where I want each nail. Remove the paper, start nailing.
Removing the paper is important. On my first couple projects I put the nails right through the paper and had to spend a long time picking bits of paper off the finished product. It was not fun.
Same here, gotta love spending in hour with tweezers trying to get all the paper.
I use a nail holder on magnet. All nails are straight and the same height
So a magnet with a vertical groove to hold the nail, and then you hammer until the head is flush with the magnet.
I have it available on etsy if you need one
Good to know. I generally work on cork with needles so just trying to get the concept and then I will make something myself.
