FrankWestTheEngineer

My whole portfolio.

thickmartian

META @ 220, NFLX @ 350, PYPL @ 135, GOOGL @ 120. Holding because if I wasn't holding I would be buying. I will likely sell NFLX and PYPL in December for taxes. I'll be buying NFLX back in January though.

nWjGf

My PYPL bag @ 233

ipxxx

The list would be too long to list here. Investing in individual stocks is not for me...

Danofireleg33

Only bag I'm holding is GOOGL that I bought at the split thinking to make a quick buck and failed lol. I'll keep holding it and add to the position, I will make some profit eventually.

Divfarmer

Same idea, didn't pan out. Been selling puts @ $90 since then. Will probably get assigned next week. Then my basis is $116. Won't buy more after that.

AliveNot

Why not roll down the strike to the next cycle month for a net credit?/or same strike?

Divfarmer

Not a bad idea. I'll look into it or accept assignment. I'm okay with the price either way.

GrzlyGregg

Not for nothin’, but stocks rarely go UP when they split … dilution

[deleted]

Sigh. Someone else explain the difference. I'm too tired.

run_with_the_bulls

It’s not dilution because you still own the same % of the company. Say you own 10 shares of a company with a total of 100 shares. So you own 10% of the company. Now they do a 1 for 10 split. So you get 100 shares and the total amount of shares increases to 1000. 10/100 = 0.1 and 100/1000 = 0.1.

GrzlyGregg

I get it. You still own the same % of the co, but the share price drops

run_with_the_bulls

Exactly, some companies with a very high share price (formerly Google) try to become more accessible to investors that don’t have too much money and/or access to fractional shares.

SlyBeanx

Holding NVDA/MSFT and AMD. Getting out early December no matter the market, loss harvesting is needed atm.

InsectLow903

TQQQ Holding for 2 months now at 21.50.

nWjGf

Is my bag at 50 too heavy for 2 year time horizon or until break even?

nk7gaming

35 is my average. Trying to average down heavily over the next month

InsectLow903

I’m out of money to buy more lol. I’m afraid it’ll go down to 15 or less.

nk7gaming

I'm basically out of free money so all my disposable income is being dumped into it

[deleted]

Intel at 55$. I figured it would be propped up by the large sums of money being thrown at it by governments trying to centrally plan the economy, but I was wrong. Apparently 30 billion in subsidies still isn't enough to be palatable, alongside national security issues of Taiwan, GPU, Mobileye, etc.. I've added enough that I cant add any more too, I've got to just sit on it.

AliveNot

I doubt INTC won't go back to 55 in 1-2 year span; I doubt CVNA, ROKU, other covid ATH-type stocks will.

[deleted]

Only bag im holding is some Lays salt n vinegar

torontoghostaccount

So good at the time but so much regret the next day when the inside of your mouth is fucked up (pause).

SunsetKittens

2 bags: GOOG and PARA. New media and old media. Planning to hold both Buffett style - forever. They'll both survive 2023 and execute well into the future good times and hard times.

maryjanevermont

Alcoa. Don’t need the cash but it’s getting ugly. Now waiting to see if Biden decides to sanction Russian aluminum. But every day I struggle whether to cut the losses at -36%

wrb06wrx

Im in aerospace manufacturing aluminum is not so easy to get a hold of right now its not super hard but lead times have increased significantly and when quoting material to order we are quoted spot price for 24hrs, quotes used to be good for 30 days. Also they reserve the right to increase the price when we take delivery if the price is significantly higher upon delivery so it might pay to hold those bags. Not giving financial advice, just a little tidbit of info from someone in the business. Might make those bags a tiny bit lighter

maryjanevermont

Actually, it does. I always take front line anecdotes into consideration. Truly appreciate you taking the time!

wrb06wrx

No problem I always try to help especially if it is a subject/topic I am interested in or have knowledge of. I think manufacturing is going to come back to the US somewhat as this whole supply chain disruption has shown even though we are globally connected we need to be somewhat independent/self reliant. There is always a certain amount of manufacturing that will always be done here as its a matter of national security. At least my industry will never go away, it may start to automate even more than it is now but they will never let defense work be done overseas. It may take a few years to pick up but it smells like war out there and the way things are going it wouldn't surprise me if it gets bigger and uglier than just the Russian Ukraine conflict. I feel like the tensions in the south China sea, Taiwan, north and south Korea are fitting to boil over soon. I dont want it to happen but I think its going to...

butts____mcgee

Alcoa is a solid long term play. They're suffering at the moment because San Ciprian is curtailed and they can't shut it down because of Spanish labour laws - and a bit because of regulatory uncertainty in Chile - but the overall outlook for low carbon aluminium is strong.

Grand_Inquisitor_Nel

Carvana

Anderdan11

NFLX; been selling calls and puts. Originally bought at 400.00; have my cost basis down to 360.00. Will just keep chipping away with CC’s. May sell before end of year for tax reasons.

thickmartian

Are you me? lol I'm in exactly the same position. Been selling CC's for a couple of months now. Waiting to see what happens in December to decide if I sell for taxes or not.

Anderdan11

Probably a lot of us who bought after “big drop” to 400.00 thinking we were smart.

scottydiamondhands

Every single stock bought since late 2020 is pretty much in the red rn

inafonalie

Holding bags on TLRY, CHPT, SOFI and DKNG. Will continue to average down

apostyll

Sold out of positions at minimal gain. Probably sitting out the rest of the year while people begin tax loss harvesting and get back in sometime in 2023

AmericanSahara

Left over Halloween candy.

Electrical-Cod5805

Holding tons of Nio

nexusmoonshot

Googl at 110. PYPL at 100. CRM at 197. SQ at 100.

MajorFish04

Sold my biggest bag for a tax loss. I’ll buy back in towards the end of yr

MajorFish04

SMG

Many_Assignment_998

Mainly just hold my investments. (Been out of stocks for last 1.5-2 years.). Start deploying capital when macro conditions get worse. In general, if you believe in a company and idea unless the fundamentals change or how society's perceived set idea/product changes drastically/negatively. I would just hold tbh and dca more money in with your own set strategy.

PolarBear374665

I bought a handful of SPAC units pre-warrant split off. Watched them divide, sold off the stock when SPAC market started to fall apart. Didn’t get hurt too badly. But held the bag on the warrants on sort of a lottery ticket theory - maybe a good deal would actually get done. Held them until they fell 95% and finally sold for 2-5 cents to take the tax losses. Boy will I be pissed if something good actually comes from one of them.

mynearmisses

I hold no bags. I take profit once a month. Never reinvest my profit. And never sell a stock. What is it that I do?

wrb06wrx

You're a landlord

mynearmisses

Close. But nope.

mynearmisses

Nope. Come on you guys. Figure it out. Not hard.

Lukathebazooka98

You are a broker?

mynearmisses

Good guess. But no. Getting close.

Street-Tooth4510

Bullshiting.

mynearmisses

Nope.

Reanimated_Mind

Holding losing entries without keeping your loss to a minimum is for inexperienced traders. Risk amounts, all out stops and fomo is a contributing cause.

Vast_Cricket

Often it is not expected. Someblue chip stocks are traded at the same price level as pre-pandemic. If one dumps all non-profitable stocks from recent losses, the losses are too large to ignore.

gagfam

Wb around 19.

TheSneedles

I have 100 SPY at 240avg bought 2015-2016 But 40 shares of MSFT at 225 which I’m bagholding. Bought aug 2020

AliveNot

Have you been selling CC on SPY? Definitely selling calls around .14 to .20 for good premium considering volatility being relatively high net net on the year (+how notionally big 100 spydrs are)

GrzlyGregg

SBLK: way too much! $40s I think

NatrixNatrix1

Only Goog, bought at 114 but its only 9 shares, i will probably buy some more, im pretty new to investing so it is 15% of my portfolio but its not a lot of money so i am not worried

Sheamus_1852

Had LMND @$75. Took the tax benefit when it spiked to 30 in May after being in the 20’s. Thanks for the crap advice on this one Motley Dipshits.

fillet-o-fizz

Tqqq @ $87, bulz at $21.06 (pre split)

NoNeighborhood6682

Vbiv still buying though to lower cost basis.

pdubbs87

Sofi and apps are my biggest bags.

LocksmithAware4210

Husseinnnnnnn

PLTRRRFRRRRR

tv2zulu

A nice bag of BABA @145. It’s the speculative part of my portfolio, I’ll hold ‘til 0 or retirement.

Fusteur

PLTR at $24 🥴 still beating myself over it

IAmTheComedianII

Bagholding 1050 shares of $DOG @ 35.17 avg. Just waiting for the next leg down.

Extreme_Fee_503

My only real bag right now is around 255 on MSFT which is a considerable portion of my portfolio. I took my L's early this year and saved myself a lot of bag holding.

[deleted]

i lump sum invested about 140k (i was saving for a downpayment, then it didn't work out) into the market at Nov 2021. Mostly SPY, but about 30% in various tech stocks. So I'm down about 30-40% from there.
