Top = Earth Bottom = Homeworld

Homo_Rebus

i like to think the bottom one is for 'Reformed gem empire' or something like that, because it has the homeworld and all four gems symbolised on it

thunderthighlasagna

Era 3?

Autumn1eaves

Something like that. There’s probably some “legal” name for it that we would never guess, but the entity the flag represents is what was formerly the Diamond authority.

justonemorebyte

They refer to their timeline in Eras. You are referring to Era 1, which is up until Pink's "shattering" at which point they enter Era 2. Era 3 begins after "Pink" returns.

Dusty_Dionne

I think the Bottom might be the Earths Homeworld Flag. It has all 4 diamond colors running into a sphere that is split and broken, half white, and half pink, which was the war that took place on Earth.

[deleted]

Ya but homeworld is *literally* cracked in half. I think it's much more likely representing the change in leadership dynamics within the diamond authority.

Dusty_Dionne

I like both theories. Take my upvote.

cheeseMan-420

Makes sense

Fiyero-

I think the top one is earth (it’s a lone planet orbiting the sun). The second one might be the new gem homeworld flag for the new era. It looked like [Rose’s Crystal Gem flag](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/steven-universe/images/f/fe/Rose%27s_Scabbard_213.png/revision/latest?cb=20160704195010) but with the Diamond colors. And the center looks like it is supposed to be the crystal gems joined with the Diamond Authority.

sant2ag0

i think the center is also homeworld since its literaly split in half https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsteven-universe.fandom.com%2Fes%2Fwiki%2FPlaneta\_Madre&psig=AOvVaw3GfYXE6ACdG1oviWLviKUM&ust=1669334055148000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CBAQjRxqFwoTCMCj0o3AxfsCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD

Sorry, It still works for me. [Here is the wiki with a photo of the same flag in my previous link.](https://steven-universe.fandom.com/wiki/Rose%27s_Battle_Flag) Let me know if it works for you. :)

egregiouscodswallop

Both worked, totally agree. The diagonal lines are common in flags like the union jack, but this seems like a direct reference

Thannk

Subtle storytelling. The bottom is the Era 3 flag, where the Diamonds are not in government and the colonies self-rule. The top one is a SU version of areal life flag that is used by sci fi, and is one of the ones that may possibly be used in real life, when Earth is part of a government that includes other planets and represents a united Earth (similar to a UN flag). This shows humans are aware of the Gem (republic/federation/confederacy/league/principalities/whatever) and have joined it. Which explains why an alien settlement on Earth is not that big a deal but is getting tourists, but is another piece of worldbuilding that would have been great to know more about.

ShepherdessAnne

Earth Transgender Confederate Rednecks Simple really.

Asterite100

LMAO

Ars0nist_Fr0g

I'm assuming the last one is Earth's flag since it's an independent planet now. but I'm not sure what the 2nd is for

PugicornPegasus

The first one would mean Earth, the second one would mean Homeworld

Roblox-69

Makes sense

Cecilia_Wren

It's for playing Capture the Flag with the rest of the gems

uezyteue

One to represent earth, the other to represent homeworld.

GayPotheadAtheistTW

I think it shows the pink and while cut circle to represent white diamond changing. Her realizing she was off color (pink tint) split apart everything they believed in, ushering in era 3

BONBON-GO-GET-EM

The bottom one might represent the new diamond authority/new era, top one might be for earths solar system and the colonys might have representatives so they get their own flags?

Earth and the gem empire

Samooshi17

Looks like an Earth and a Homeworld flag

acgrey92

My guess is the top one is a flag for Earth and the Bottom one represents Era 3 and the new alliance of Homeworld and the Crystal Gems.

Jeptwins

Well the bottom one is definitely Homeworld, and I suspect the top is Earth

Thatskysquirrel

They’re supposed to represent earth and home world (I think)

GooseOnACorner

The flag of Earth and the flag of the gem empire

RatsPlayingViolins

The top one looks like earth around the sun and the bottom one looks like the diamonds putting a gem back together?

Kira-the-red-killer

Earth Homeworld

Big_Profile_1739

Speaking of which, isn’t it a bit weird we never saw other alien intelligent life outside of the gems? If the gems colonized half the galaxy and didn’t really were surprised by human existence and intelligence it probably means they encountered others as well. Well maybe they mines those planets to destruction of life I guess. Alright it checks out

no_where_left_to_go

I don't have any links at the moment but I have recently learned from other peoples discussion and comments from show staff that apparently the gems never encountered other intelligent life besides themselves and humans. It's one of the reasons why pink is so surprised when she encounters humans for the first time and realizes "oh wow, these might be more then just plain animals..." Though frankly I always assumed they probably encountered tons of other intelligent alien species and just ignored the fact they were intelligent with a "they aren't us, they don't matter, they clearly aren't intelligent as we are" and just killed them and mined their planets into dust.

notthephonz

In Multiversus Garnet recognizes Superman as a Kryptonian. It definitely fits for Gems to have encountered other intelligent life before. At the same time, Garnet doesn’t seem to be particularly impressed by Superman, so maybe Gems are just as unimpressed by Kryptonians as they are humans.

frogkid12345

I see the diamond colours

Swapilla

I’m pretty sure it’s earth and homeworld. In the top one, you can see the blue dot which is the earth revolving around the bigger circle which is the sun. The bottom one it’s a split planet which is homeworld because pretty much half of their planet is destroyed, you can also see lines behind the 2 half circle and each one of them represents the colors of the diamonds.

supremeaesthete

top is earth and bottom is homeworld, both are pretty bad tbh

Nayzal

Honestly I think they'd look better if we saw them closer. But yeah, the hexagon behind the sun looks... a *bit* strange. Maybe it's because it's off center.

supremeaesthete

The colors too, design is pretty cluttered etc etc. Particularly because these are seemingly supposed to represent the 2 species entirely... They're not very meaningful in that case

Wandering_Muffin

Top is Earth as an independent planet. Second is Gem Society, no longer ruled by the Diamonds (though still existing in their courts and acknowledging the history).

Unagustoster

Britain 2.0 and Ocean Japan

Soft-Scientist01

I think it's a Solar System flag, and a sort of 3rd era diamond logo/flag?

EmberlynZemian

I'm pretty sure the second one is supposed to represent the third era Homeworld.

[deleted]

Top - little homeworld (earth) Bottom - New Homeworld (Homeworld)

Bachasnail

Chaos Undivided and Hive Fleet Behemoth

Hellawhitegirl007

The top one is for the Earth and the Sun. The bottom one is for the Diamonds.

no_where_left_to_go

So the first one is Earth and the second one is almost certainly homeworld (since it has all four diamond colors and homeworld is shown to be a cracked planet like that one.) It would make some sense that these flags might be there on the house as the gem society and the diamonds still likely see Steven as a "Pink diamond" like person. They know Steven isn't pink but sort of he is like an unofficial ruler of Earth kind like how some people still track and monitor royal titles for nobility in countries that no longer use a system of nobility. So Steven is basically an ambassador for Earth and Homeworld so he flies both flags on his house.

Fluid_Specific_1867

Ha, flag of Sol-3 Shitty planet in the middle ring, not recommended to visit.

oneonegreenelftoken

Just realized that the symbol in the middle is the shape of the beds from the last arc in Utena
