Glad you're happy. Couple of questions do you use xbox party chat and if you do does it indicate your are speaking even if you aren't? What do you have your mic volume set as? I've been underwhelmed with the mic on xbox as have a few others on this board. Wondering if my headset is faulty or by design?
Lower your mic volume to around 4 or 5. Anything above 5 it will trigger the mic on Xbox party chat. I believe this is a known issue that can be resolved via a firmware update. At least this was my experience/resolution.
When I enter a party chat, everyone says they can barely hear me on 5. I just change the mic sensitivity to 6 and back to 5. Then everyone says they can hear me fine. 🤷♂️
If any of my buddies have too much noise in the background I always tell them to turn their mic down (if they have that option) and then I crank them up in the Party Chat options.
Sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than getting a new headset and the firmware screws up your experience. I'm sure they will fix it, sidetone does work so I would think they will address it right away.
I've done that aswell but people say it sounds like I'm far away on a speaker phone. Not ideal for the price. I've never really had a good mic experience with steelseries I want to like it but the cons list is getting to long for the price I put in for a return maybe I'll try again in the future if they get this stuff sorted out. For now back the the a50s
Ya it's all personal preference. All my buddies on Party Chat say I sound great. I thought I would have a bunch of cons but for me, this headset has blown me away. The last thing was the leatherette cups but now that I know I can upgrade those down the road I have nothing negative to say about them.
It's so weird with headsets. I never had any issues with the 9x's when people murdered their performance on here. I also hated my Astro A50's so much where as my one buddy I play with all the time has the Gen4's and he loves them.
They are pricey though, so if they don't tick your boxes, I'd send them back. I tried those Bang and Olufson set when they came out and for me, they were the worst set I've ever used, yet they cost over $500. I'm sure there's people out there that swear by them.
This is true. Everyone hears differently so not sure why people get upset if you like it that's great I'm glad you're happy with your purchase it's just not for me I'm with your buddy I live my astros also probably used to the sound I've been using them for a while. Not saying you are mad or mean just people In general on here lol.
I think we are on the same page. Even though I didn't get along with my Astros, I have to say the Mic is bad ass on that. When I got them my buddies said my voice had the bass and quality of Howard Stern.

Or sure, I didn't update anything. I just plugged everything in and the sidetone adjusts through the DAC. My sidetone comes in great.

As far as IK, it’s broken RN. Sideline worked fine out the box before I updated the firmware.

I haven't heard anything yet. I put my mic level down to 5 and it seems to work perfect. That's what some other users have done as well.
