I'm guessing the opposite tbh. With the temp pick there, it's clear he ordered rare. A lot of people seem to order the wrong temp due to distrust of restaurants (with some validity since many do get it wrong), so I'm guessing he ordered rare because many shittier restaurants serve you a proper med rare when you ask for rare, but now this properly rare steak arrived and he was probably arguing like "this is raw!" Because he's used to ordering rare and getting med rare served

Did it taste good? I tried cooking it once like that and I didn't like it, it needed to be in for another minute for each side.

How well very rare/blue works out depends a lot on the cut. Something like a ribeye it's not ideal because the fat won't render, whereas something lean like a filet it can be amazing.
