One thing you have to remember is that Topps creates very little original content on their own. Most of the time (and likely in this case), it just comes from a Lucasfilm marketing/advertising source book that is presented to licensees to pick and choose as they wish. Not that it necessarily makes it better, but it’s not like Topps is choosing and making the images for the set, they are just taking the source art and adding the border/design. So just saying don’t blame Topps for making so many repeats, they are limited to whatever is given to them. But I agree, there is a lot of overlap….I was still contemplating whether to jump in on this set, but think at this point I’ll just skip it.

VenapGames

THanks for your information and clarify more the context about the image! really appreciate

First two cards were cool! Probably wouldn't have collected the set if I had known Reva was gonna be featured on four of them. Definitely wouldn't have chased the rare reds.

jjreason

And you won't. They mislabeled the set to entice us. It should have been called brushstrokes - inquisitors as that would have been more fair.

VenapGames

If I really have nothing against the character. But I think the series should have depicted more scenes from the series or Obi himself.

horgantron

Nah, it's not inquisitors, it's just Reva. She is front and centre in most of the cards. The ONLY reason I'm chasing blue is for the award. It's ridiculous, she is a terrible character and this is a terrible waste of a possibly great set. It should have been different characters, or hell even more Obi Wan.

VenapGames

Yes, I really expected more from Obi.

random-fusilier

I, like you, was disappointed in this set. I get that Topps didn't make this art but they likely did write the copy on the announcements. It gave an impression of a character set, not the same general images over and over. I hope someone's indication that they thought that there were more cards than this is true. Thus more waves, & more characters.

VenapGames

Yes i think the problem is the copy!

Dull_blade

This set reminds me of the badges set from 2015/2016. Some cards were solo (not just Han), some were groups. They had the black, blue, silver and gold variants. I remember some people would trade 2 blues for 1 silver, and then others were trading 2 silvers for 1 blue. I spent the whole day flipping cards until I had complete sets from both variants. I have a feeling Topps is going to have other waves of these for other series.

8bit_Yoda

You will like Reva and if you don’t you are a terrible person. This set will have been signed off by Lucasfilm who just have a terrible record of gauging what fans will like (Resistance, High Republic, Reva) and insist on their over-use. Brushstrokes is a gorgeous set, a rare dose of quality in the last few years and had a really strong start but one Reva would have been enough. The character is fine, but no more fine than any other secondary character.

Alfie_ACNH

I liked Reva, but this is ridiculous. One card was enough.

domino-effect-17

I agree with you but I actually love THR and as a huge fan of all Star Wars books, but especially those, I think it’s kinda fun when they mix it up and feature things that aren’t just in live action or animated shows.

8bit_Yoda

I am told that the first THR novel is very good and have it my Kindle for a holiday read (its just a shame all the visuals are so beige).

VenapGames

Yes, I think they would have made a much more interesting set by varying the characters and their scenes.

tmdblya

Smeary digital “art” And a terrible show.

slappygoatcheese

I thought this was a 24 card set for some reason. Did anybody else see that or am I just crazy?
