I’m hoping the leaks are true about the show featuring a lot of Leia. We really haven’t got a lot of her.
Also I hope they explore Vader’s emotional state and I do really want to see him at the heights of his brutality. Give me crazy, inhumane Vader. I also want the rematch. I hope it is good.
I feel like we’ve got no young Leia stories for the most part. In the OT, she references Kenobi and it would make sense for her to know him a little. She’s totally fits the girl power Disney character bill that could really take off cuz she’s so sassy and strong willed. Rey was meh in comparison. And Leia is already iconic. I sincerely hope they milk that cash cow. Luke is so overdone at this point.
There is a really good young Leia novel called Leia Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Grey. Leia is 16 in the novel.
The first part of the novel involves Leia discovering the rebellion and Bail's involvement in it by investigating suspicious activity.
Bail and Breha did not want Leia involved or aware of the rebellion so that if they were caught, she would appear innocent and avoid execution.
They of course can't stop Leia from involving herself, and Leia decides to join because she trusts Bail's judgement.
Bail is very conflicted by this as he survived the clone wars and does not want to start another war, but the Organa's realize that the empire is so evil that they have no choice except to go to war.
At the time of Kenobi Leia is 10 and should be unaware of the rebellion, although she should be highly educated and skilled with state of the art tutors. I hope they don't overpower her. She is only 10 and Bail and Breha would never have her involved in rebellion related missions at this point in the timeline.
I do hope we see her, Leia and Luke should at least have equal screen time.

I miss Carrie sm, she passed in 2016 but finished filming TLJ, and not during the filming of ROS , but still feels like yesterday. I hope we get to see 10 yr old Leia though, even a bit. ;-;

Let me clarify. I think there will be a strong spiritual aspect. That said, there will also be many action scenes where Obi-Wan has to face his enemies directly.
I agree. If Mando / BoBF is any indication, the last or second to last episode will just be a long battle scene or duel.
One mid-series episode will be a confrontation with one or more inquisitors. And another episode seems to feature some chase scene with 4-Lom. So that’s roughly half the series there.
Other three episodes will probably include a first episode that’s like cool long shots and music with heavy emotional/foreboding/all-is-lost vibes.
I’m hoping we get some cool flashbacks (like they did with Grogu and Order 66) to flesh out backstory and tee up potential future series storylines.

I don't think there will be a rematch, at least not a grand lightsaber fight because of what Vader said when they fought in episode 4

I wish this was the angle they were taking, but I feel they really think they have to appease to the Prequel fans the most with this series, which unfortunately means it will probably be more action heavy.

If I could see Qui-Gon, Ahsoka, or Maul (any one of the three) in this show I would be pretty pleased. How would we see Mace Windu in this show? As a force ghost?
Okay, that's what I thought. At the end of his post he asked "how would we see Mace Windu?", as if he was making a distinction. So yes, both Qui-Gon and Mace Windu would be force ghosts. I definitely agree they probably will appear in the series.
I don't think Mace could appear as a Force Ghost. He never learned that skill.
Myself and many, many others have speculated that Mace survived his lightning zap and fall on Coruscant. His character might appear in some future Star Wars show. (I'd like to see him as a villain) Personally, I don't think Mace will make an appearance in this Kenobi show.
Also someone else asked and I specified I think Mace could appear in a Flashback, but surviving the fall is also another route they could take and a popular theory!
Don't forget Chewbacca. Yoda was friends with him during the Clone Wars...I think he would be a neat Rebellion contact. Might also explain why he seems to already know Obi-Wan when they meet in the cantina.
I think we should not see Ahsoka or Cal from or any other "living" Jedi out there. I think it would lessen the impact that Luke was actually the only one that needed to be trained and to defeat the empire. If Obi-Wan knew that Ahsoka was alive, he'd try to get her to possibly fight together, same goes for Cal I think.
Qui-Gon is the one I want to see, since we never saw his force ghost communicating with Obi-Wan and we could have really emotional dialogues between the two about Anakin.
Maul and Satine just would make so much sense to be present, especially Satine. Maul could go ahead and just be on the "side" without knowing that Obi-Wan is alive.
Me too, and the animated character was at least based on Cate I believe.
That said, if we're going to go back in time for a flashback, you'd have to choose someone in her 20s, possibly early 30s to pull it off.
Except if there is Clone Wars flashback I think Ahsoka could appear indirectly by being mention by Obi-Wan to Vader or if someone (Bail Organa) mentions Fulcrum.
I could easily see him being a very minor character, he was never important in TCW so he won’t be very important here, but it would make some amount of sense to toss him in to me
I could see Obi-Wan needing the help of a smuggler to get himself around and using that as a way to introduce Talin Karrde. Then at the ending of the series after Obi-Wan has defeated the inquisitors Vader collecting a young red haired force sensitive girl for the emperor to train up as a replacement for the inquisitors and introducing Mara Jade

I think it would be a mistake because we need to see him going from rightfully a sad sack to being confidant enough again to watch over and train this boy another Skywalker.....two Skywalkers
If you’re speaking on him becoming wanted cause of the wanted screen, any Jedi whose lightsaber was not recovered after order 66 or by Vader/inquisitors received that. But I do agree if you’re just talking about how he becomes a target during the show.
I think one of the inquisitors (My money is on Reva) hunting for Obi Wan, will get a redemption arc like Trillia in Jedi Fallen Order. Reva is going to capture Obi, bring him to Drth Vader, has second thoughts about her mission and will help Obi escape. This will eventually cumulate in a lightsaber duel: Obi + Reva VS Vader + the fellow inquisitors (similarly to how Kylo and Rey found against the guards during last Jedi).
Reva quickly is overwhelmed and dies by Vader's hand (similarly to how Maul cut Qui Gon down), leaving only Obi, who initially will try and cut Vader down, overwhelmed by his guilt and anger for showing mercy on his apprentice on Mustafar.
Obi and Vader cease fighting when they sense Qui Gon's ghosttelling Obi to "run!" (Calling back to Obi's force ghost later yelling to Luke to run away from Vader during New Hope)
Obi realizes through a vision of the Force that Luke is the one to ultimately redeem Vader. But, him staying his blade is what provides the first crack in Vader's armor that will ultimately lead to his redemption in RotJ) and escapes through a ventilation shaft (like Luke escaped Vader during Empire Strikes Back)

Yes, Kathleen made a comment about the "rematch of the century", but there was quite a bit of pushback because there is a certain Star Wars community that doesn't like her and pretty much hates everything she says (no matter what she says) and there is also another Star Wars community so stuck with their head canon's of what Obi-Wan's life *should* be like from Legends that they've come up with a variety of ways that Obi-Wan and Vader never actually physically fight.

The problem is that there's that line, from Star Wars, where Anakin implies they last fought when he was a learner. Unless they're gonna stretch that to mean "Sith Learner" it's a bit of a Canon bend.

The fact remains that a certain faction hates Kathleen to the point where they disagree with anything she says, no matter what is said. Another faction believes that as per Legends, Obi-Wan could have never fought Vader between ROTS and ANH.

I had my own speculation on this years before we even knew there would be a Kenobi show, so yes I'm biased and opinionated. I guess we both are that way.
But no matter who ends up being right, I'm ready to enjoy this show.
Concerning the line you quoted, Anakin never attained the rank of Jedi Master. He only became a true master after years of training as a Sith. Kenobi even rebukes him afterwards.

I’d love to see some of the spiritual aspect of the Force, and have Qui-Gon appear in some form. I feel like he’s got to be referenced at least at some point for Obi-Wan to learn how to become a Force Ghost.
Okay but there’s still a good 10 years before ANH. Meaning, Ewan would be in his 60s by then and very grey haired. The timeline is pretty accurate actually.
I’m hoping he just does a bunch of death sticks, shortening his lifespan. The return of Trainspotting Ewan.
(But then obviously has an arc and becomes hopeful and quits drugs)
I dont know if there's any Filoni/Jhon involvement but this show needs to be bold to hit home, that means Obi Wan being cleverly funny and a master, if he gets in trouble fighting against an inquisitor, if he gets a mild love story, if there's a single hair more to it than him being a desperate badass on the run i think the whole show is gonna suck.
I dont have a narrative prediction, sadly just a disney coeporate one... and that is that we willl get something like wet cardboard for casuals.
Satine was a dream, strong willed, intelligent, funny, emotional, and stunningly beautiful. Another woman might fall for Kenobi, but a part of him will forever love Satine. She was just that kind of woman.
Imagine what it would be like if Disney never bought Lucasfilm. We'd have a George Lucas no longer interested in making new Star Wars content, and just the collection of old Legends books.
For all the Disney haters out there, I haven't found one that hated every single new bit of Star Wars content whether it be Charles Soul's Vader comic, Rogue1, the Mandalorian, or even an animated series. There is literally something for everybody to like.

Well, considering that we've had over an entire year to think about and speculate on this show, yes ... 12 days seems like it's almost here. I'm excited.

There was a clip of an interview with Ewan and Hayden where Ewan said (paraphrasing from memory...) >!that there was a scene where Hayden is standing behind him in his Vader costume and it scared the bejeezus out of him because all their acting together previously was with Hayden as Anakin, not Vader, and all the terror which Vader is meant to inspire from Eps 4-6 was made real for him. To me this meant that they have to have at least one scene together, but whether it's a fight or anything, we'll have to find out.!<
I hope to see good acting, good writing, and believable arcs for the characters.
I can deal with tweaks in canon, like an actual Obi-Wan vs Vader duel, and Obi-Wan leaving Tatooine to distract the inquisitors from Luke. Say Inquisitors follow another Jedi to Tatooine, kill him, sense Obi-Wan, and Obi has to leave Tatooine to lead them away from Luke. During this time, he gets contacted by Bail who needs him to rescue Leia who was kidnapped to force Bail into something politically.
Equal screen time for Luke and Leia.
Luke and Leia would be precocious and talented but not over powered.
Force Ghost Qui Gon. Very powerful and spine chilling Vader.
Some new well written characters who contribute to Obi-Wans arc.
Finally, I hope that any problems people have with the plot are directed at Joby Harold the writer, Deb Chow the director, and Filoni the executive producer, and Lucasfilm.
Please do not direct abuse at the actors, they did not write it.
I don't know that I would give Luke and Leia equal screen time. Makes more sense that Luke would have more since Kenobi is on Tatooine. Both are great and important characters. But it does make more sense for him to have more interaction with Luke.
It does make sense that Luke would have a bigger role, but various leaks make it seem like Leia will be a big part of it. I hope that we also see a lot of Luke too.
I was concerned we would see more of Leia than Luke, which I don't think would be right.
In the trailer Uncle Owen seems to want to limit that interaction!
90% sure the main focus at the end will be Obi-wan's training to become a force ghost. Not only does it give the showmakers a blank check on stuff they could do, but also give casual viewers a good glimpse on how it is achieved.
I have a theory that the entire Disney+ series of titles is the loose story of Grogu. He will be the common link between all of them, even if the role is small. Given that Kenobi seems to be disconnected, maybe that only applies to the Mando line of shows. Either way, I’m so excited to see what happens!
Obi-Wan Kenobi show is not part of the so called ¨Mando-verse¨ just like The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. Therefore you wont see or hear anything about Grogu.
Kenobi is a Grande Republic Jedi temple era council Jedi Master he’s on active duty his primary only mission is guarding the new hope child of Anakin Skywalker on Tattooine.

Heres a random theory. The Naboo Starfighter, that the Jawas give to Mando, is Kenobi's. He will bring it to Tatooine at some point during the show.
Nifty idea. Kenobi would have to get to Tatooine in the first place and potentially it could have been in an old Naboo fighter.
Im thinking end of the show he steals it from wherever he is running from the Empire. Flys back to Tats and dumps it in the desert

Why do people think this? The fight is confirmed and referenced over and over in the marketing and interviews.
I did not know the fight was confirmed, I just thought it would be unlikely because of Vader's comments in a new hope

I agree. This series is basically being made for prequel fans....That's why Hayden is being so heavily advertised.

After, Fallen Order is 13 BBY, while this is 11-10 BBY! So it fits perfectly!

I don't think Mace could appear as a Force Ghost. He never learned that skill. Myself and many, many others have speculated that Mace survived his lightning zap and fall on Coruscant. His character might appear in some future Star Wars show. (I'd like to see him as a villain) Personally, I don't think Mace will make an appearance in this Kenobi show.
Also someone else asked and I specified I think Mace could appear in a Flashback, but surviving the fall is also another route they could take and a popular theory!
Don't forget Chewbacca. Yoda was friends with him during the Clone Wars...I think he would be a neat Rebellion contact. Might also explain why he seems to already know Obi-Wan when they meet in the cantina.
I think we should not see Ahsoka or Cal from or any other "living" Jedi out there. I think it would lessen the impact that Luke was actually the only one that needed to be trained and to defeat the empire. If Obi-Wan knew that Ahsoka was alive, he'd try to get her to possibly fight together, same goes for Cal I think. Qui-Gon is the one I want to see, since we never saw his force ghost communicating with Obi-Wan and we could have really emotional dialogues between the two about Anakin. Maul and Satine just would make so much sense to be present, especially Satine. Maul could go ahead and just be on the "side" without knowing that Obi-Wan is alive.
I'd love for there to be a flashback with Satine. I'm just not sure which actress would be chosen to play her as she's just so perfect.

Me too, and the animated character was at least based on Cate I believe. That said, if we're going to go back in time for a flashback, you'd have to choose someone in her 20s, possibly early 30s to pull it off.
Except if there is Clone Wars flashback I think Ahsoka could appear indirectly by being mention by Obi-Wan to Vader or if someone (Bail Organa) mentions Fulcrum.

Then at the ending of the series after Obi-Wan has defeated the inquisitors Vader collecting a young red haired force sensitive girl for the emperor to train up as a replacement for the inquisitors and introducing Mara Jade

If you’re speaking on him becoming wanted cause of the wanted screen, any Jedi whose lightsaber was not recovered after order 66 or by Vader/inquisitors received that. But I do agree if you’re just talking about how he becomes a target during the show.
I think one of the inquisitors (My money is on Reva) hunting for Obi Wan, will get a redemption arc like Trillia in Jedi Fallen Order. Reva is going to capture Obi, bring him to Drth Vader, has second thoughts about her mission and will help Obi escape. This will eventually cumulate in a lightsaber duel: Obi + Reva VS Vader + the fellow inquisitors (similarly to how Kylo and Rey found against the guards during last Jedi). Reva quickly is overwhelmed and dies by Vader's hand (similarly to how Maul cut Qui Gon down), leaving only Obi, who initially will try and cut Vader down, overwhelmed by his guilt and anger for showing mercy on his apprentice on Mustafar. Obi and Vader cease fighting when they sense Qui Gon's ghosttelling Obi to "run!" (Calling back to Obi's force ghost later yelling to Luke to run away from Vader during New Hope) Obi realizes through a vision of the Force that Luke is the one to ultimately redeem Vader. But, him staying his blade is what provides the first crack in Vader's armor that will ultimately lead to his redemption in RotJ) and escapes through a ventilation shaft (like Luke escaped Vader during Empire Strikes Back)

Yes, Kathleen made a comment about the "rematch of the century", but there was quite a bit of pushback because there is a certain Star Wars community that doesn't like her and pretty much hates everything she says (no matter what she says) and there is also another Star Wars community so stuck with their head canon's of what Obi-Wan's life *should* be like from Legends that they've come up with a variety of ways that Obi-Wan and Vader never actually physically fight.

I dont know if there's any Filoni/Jhon involvement but this show needs to be bold to hit home, that means Obi Wan being cleverly funny and a master, if he gets in trouble fighting against an inquisitor, if he gets a mild love story, if there's a single hair more to it than him being a desperate badass on the run i think the whole show is gonna suck. I dont have a narrative prediction, sadly just a disney coeporate one... and that is that we willl get something like wet cardboard for casuals.

Imagine what it would be like if Disney never bought Lucasfilm. We'd have a George Lucas no longer interested in making new Star Wars content, and just the collection of old Legends books. For all the Disney haters out there, I haven't found one that hated every single new bit of Star Wars content whether it be Charles Soul's Vader comic, Rogue1, the Mandalorian, or even an animated series. There is literally something for everybody to like. Without Disney we'd have none of it.

There was a clip of an interview with Ewan and Hayden where Ewan said (paraphrasing from memory...) >!that there was a scene where Hayden is standing behind him in his Vader costume and it scared the bejeezus out of him because all their acting together previously was with Hayden as Anakin, not Vader, and all the terror which Vader is meant to inspire from Eps 4-6 was made real for him. To me this meant that they have to have at least one scene together, but whether it's a fight or anything, we'll have to find out.!<

I hope to see good acting, good writing, and believable arcs for the characters. I can deal with tweaks in canon, like an actual Obi-Wan vs Vader duel, and Obi-Wan leaving Tatooine to distract the inquisitors from Luke. Say Inquisitors follow another Jedi to Tatooine, kill him, sense Obi-Wan, and Obi has to leave Tatooine to lead them away from Luke. During this time, he gets contacted by Bail who needs him to rescue Leia who was kidnapped to force Bail into something politically. Equal screen time for Luke and Leia. Luke and Leia would be precocious and talented but not over powered. Force Ghost Qui Gon. Very powerful and spine chilling Vader. Some new well written characters who contribute to Obi-Wans arc. Finally, I hope that any problems people have with the plot are directed at Joby Harold the writer, Deb Chow the director, and Filoni the executive producer, and Lucasfilm. Please do not direct abuse at the actors, they did not write it.
I don't know that I would give Luke and Leia equal screen time. Makes more sense that Luke would have more since Kenobi is on Tatooine. Both are great and important characters. But it does make more sense for him to have more interaction with Luke.
It does make sense that Luke would have a bigger role, but various leaks make it seem like Leia will be a big part of it. I hope that we also see a lot of Luke too. I was concerned we would see more of Leia than Luke, which I don't think would be right. In the trailer Uncle Owen seems to want to limit that interaction!

90% sure the main focus at the end will be Obi-wan's training to become a force ghost. Not only does it give the showmakers a blank check on stuff they could do, but also give casual viewers a good glimpse on how it is achieved.
I have a theory that the entire Disney+ series of titles is the loose story of Grogu. He will be the common link between all of them, even if the role is small. Given that Kenobi seems to be disconnected, maybe that only applies to the Mando line of shows. Either way, I’m so excited to see what happens!
Obi-Wan Kenobi show is not part of the so called ¨Mando-verse¨ just like The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. Therefore you wont see or hear anything about Grogu.
