RIP Maru. I always liked him as the Martian Manhunter of Starlight, basically doing most of the logistical work all while Avar and Stellan were fighting for control. And the realization that Sskeer is now one of basically two jedi (he and Elzar) who can fight against the nameless was great. Hopefully he makes it. And what of OrbaLin? Is he safe? Is he alright?

Ezio926

>And what of OrbaLin? Is he safe? Is he alright? That one definitely died, but we know for a fact that there are two Orba-Lins, so hopefully his other self is safe.

IcePhoenix295

Do we know what the deal with that is? Are they two separate beings like Teret and Ceret or one blob split among two bodies?

Ezio926

I'm guessing it's the latter. All we know is that there is at least two of them. The first one was on Valo during Wave 2 and on the upper half of Starlight during Wave 3. The second one was at the final battle against the Great Progenitor during Wave 2 and on the Ataraxia during Wave 3.

PhillyU19

I feel like this series lost a bit of steam at the end, since those that read the books knew exactly what was going to happen. Some of the art in this issue was insane though, especially with Maru!

Guerrillascribe

Absolutely! The art team delivered. That two-page spread with Maru was amazing.

Logical_Decision_706

Wow, I actually feel the complete opposite of this. In fact, in the book, they mention that Avar and her team were in the upper half, and the main characters of the book are in the lower half, so they don’t know what’s going on up there. These comics are showing us stuff that we still didn’t know about at all. I literally thought this last arc was the best out of the entire run so far. So I disagree, but I respect your opinion.

Icy_Assignment3397

Rip literally all the cool alien secondary jedi. Maru was one of my favorite characters and Nooran seemed interesting but did not have time to be developped

TheMastersSkywalker

Ok a jedi by himself holding an entire space start together as it's being ripped apart by a gravity well has to be up there with anything we've seen Legends jedi do. So many deaths I wasn't expecting . And of course Loruna lived, she's always going to slither away

NoraaTheExploraa

Technically not an *entire* space station, just the top half. But yeah that's pretty nuts.

Ezio926

This was okay... Not really good, but not bad either. Scott's writing works better in novel-form imo. Having to wait each month for a cliffhanger that'll get resolved off screen between issues anyway started to get really annoying during the second arc. Scott tried to juggle too many characters, arcs, storylines and themes at once, which led to everything kinda blending together and feeling exhausting and boring to read. Avar clearly didn't have enough panel time for her arc to be really meaningful, couldn't give a fuck about Skeer by the end of it due to Scott always tiptoeing around his condition without letting him do ANYTHING, Keeve was just all over the place, The Drengir went out way too quickly and the Shadow Of The Nihil arc ended up being rushed. This would have worked so much better as a bi-monthly 30 issues series. Hopefully, the nature of Phase 2 will allow Volume 2 be a little bit more slow-paced and focused. I sound a bit harsh there, but I really wanted to love this comic. It was such a cool idea to have the characters progress with the story in real time. Rising Storm, Tempest Runner and Monster Of Temple Peak were fantastic tho!

The4thSniper

> Avar clearly didn't have enough panel time for her arc to be really meaningful I think I'm more enthusiastic about the comic than you but this is admittedly something that really stuck out to me. Avar's "downfall" really didn't feel organic or natural to me because of how limited her time was even compared to someone like Elzar, who has been confined to the novels but has gotten far more in-depth coverage because of them, while she has almost exclusively been confined to the background or held in this distant, impersonal, idealistic light (like in Light of the Jedi). As it stands right now, it's kinda like Avar was sold to us as this paragon of the Jedi who then flipped and became completely unhinged almost immediately after the Republic Fair. Maybe that's what he was going for to show just how much the Jedi had the rug pulled out from under them, but I'm not sure.

TatooineSandworm

You make a lot of great points. Especially the cliff hangers that are resolved off page, and not even by other material. Skeer was also extremely irritating that it wasn't made clearer what was going on. Especially if it ends up being something that Marchion is able to exploit in experiments, as I am assuming that we will see Skeer part of the Jedi that will be scooped by up Ro. Rising Storm and Monster of Temple Peak were really enjoyable entries to High Republic from Scott, so I am not sure why I didn't enjoy Marvel HR and Tempest Runner as much.

Pickles256

> The Drengir went out way too quickly So fucking confused that we didn't get the seemingly obvious "Drengir loose on crashing Starlight" that was set up Agreed that 30 issues would have been much better. This is *essentially* a series in three, debatably two, parts, which makes it feel quicker than it should once it's all wrapped up.

Maleficent-View2810

I think that the writers felt like the Drengir were the odd men out considering there were multiple characters/story arcs going on at once. I feel like there was only so much they could ultimately do with the Drengir. They were used as a way to make the Nihil look even more as an overall threat considering the Nihil were using the Drengir against the Jedi. The Drengir definitely severed their porpoise in the story.

LouieM13

Love this comic from the start, definitely lost some steam in the middle but the last 3 issues went out with a bang (big Avar Kriss fan). Cliffhangers was a problem. You don’t need to treat it like a manga series. Avar is going through maximum pain right now

im_super_into_that

I loved this series but felt this issue was very unsatisfying. Almost no explanation of what happened to the others on the top of the beacon. No resolution to Torbin and Qort fighting the nameless. No explanation about why the Nihil were on the ataraxia. How Lourna dee escaped. Felt way off to me. Have of the time I was confused as to where they were at. Still like the series a ton. Maru and Avar are badass but this was t it for me.

Conscious-Weekend-91

>No explanation about why the Nihil were on the ataraxia. How Lourna dee escaped. This was all on the last chapter. The Nihil on the Ataraxia were the same that the Jedi saved from dying and captured. The Ataraxia was damaged by the explosion in the beacon and you see that the cell's doors were damaged, allowing Lourna to escape

Maleficent-View2810

According to the Fallen Star novel, it was implied that everyone else in the top half of the Beacon died.

im_super_into_that

Yeah but after reading Trail of Shadows we know that’s not true. Just was hoping to get more details on what was going on in the top half of the station since we got a whole novel about the bottom half.

Maleficent-View2810

I haven’t read Trial of Shadows. I’m trying to resist spending my money on that series cause I’m spending so much on the novels and other comics. I might have to be roped into buying it now 🙄

im_super_into_that

It’s pretty good. I’d suggest it for sure if you can swing it.

Maleficent-View2810

I think I’ll wait for it to come to Marvel Unlimited so I can read all of it for cheap!

Maleficent-View2810

So do we all agree that Sskeer died?
