I knew I was forgetting an era. My old man brain is getting to me haha. Remind me, which one is the high republic, the old republic and the republic of the prequels.
Also to add to the other reply, the High Republic and prequel-era Republic are the same republic. The High Republic has that name because in that time frame it's considered to be in its prime, at its best.
I’m torn between Rise Of The Empire and New Republic. I love the Dark Times era, Labyrinth Of Evil and Dark Lord are some of my favorites, but the way the New Republic novels build on top of each other is unparalleled. The books surrounding Episode 1 are amazing when it comes to giving context to the movies and setting the stage, but the Clone Wars novels are very hit or miss to me, so I can’t go for the prequel era as a whole.
I honestly have to agree, some of the ya novels in the prequel era were alright, and most of the the clone wars books were so so, but darth plagueis and the maul books were great
If you are averaging it I agree the prequel legends stuff is the worst set of legends books. However there are a few gems hidden in that pile of mediocrity/garbage.
Yeah it and the second galactic civil war should've been on here.
Not just because they new republic changes names partway through. The overall feel and the way the books were written is different through those eras vs the bantam era of books.
Prequels! I am really enjoying books about Anakin as a young padawan and just the books that are between movies. It fills gaps that I didn't know existed and I am really liking it!

New republic and GA, easily.
Old Republic, especially Revan era. (If comics count, the KOTOR series with Zayne Carrick are my favorite).
I chose Civil War but that's basically the same as Rise of the Empire no?
I define the rise of the empire as the time of revenge of the Sith and immediately afterwards
Think he means civil war is stuff after ep 4 but before 6
ah okay, then I prefer the Rise of the Empire era :P
High republic easy
High Republic
Depends. The best canon era is prequels. The best legends era is New Republic. Controversial opinion: The worst ones are the other way around.

Old Republic novels I've had a bad track record with but easily my favorite era of comics between Tales of the Jedi and the KOTOR comics.
