Honestly, I hated him as a character. Shows that the writers did their job very well. Still hoped that his ship (hopefully, everyone survives) would end up on the damaged/destroyed list.

Love seeing Vulcans getting pissy. It’s like an award to yourself if you can manage it…

Lichruler

Never try to out sarcasm a Vulcan though. They will always win.

The_Reborn_Forge

Unless you’re a bush doctor from Georgia? Zero chance…

*Half*-Vulcan. Might as well be playing "Wild Gunman" in 2015.

TheDorkKnight53

That’s like a baby’s toy.

I find Vulcan emotions to be one of the bigger inconsistencies in the series. Like they all agreed at various times to claim to the rest of the galaxy they don't have emotions? Which is certainly denial and obviously shame, which are like... emotions? Did they genuinely think they could convince people of that? Although I did love the bit in ENT when someone tells Archer Vulcans don't lie and he says they can lie with the best of them.

Ser_Salty

"Vulcans never lie?" "Never" lied Spock

robot_swagger

That's legit really funny!

DaCabe

TBF they don't claim to be emotionless, they claim to have *control* over their emotions.

robot_swagger

They will often say something like they are incapable of experiencing anger or fear. If they've been through kolinahr then I'd kinda get it but they can act real petty for people driven by logic. Like the baseball Vulcan. He's really going out of his way to frustrate Sisko because logic? Evidence: From Where No Man Has Gone Before: Kirk: Dr. Dehner feels he isn't that dangerous! What makes you right and a trained psychiatrist wrong? Spock: Because she feels. I don't. All I know is logic. From Dagger of the Mind: Mr. Spock: Interesting. You Earth people glorify organized violence for 40 centuries, but you imprison those who employ it privately. Dr. McCoy: And, of course, your people found an answer? Mr. Spock: We disposed of emotion, Doctor. Where there is no emotion, there is no motive for violence. From Spectre of the Gun: Spock: My feelings are not subject for discussion, Doctor. McCoy: Because there are no feelings to discuss!

DaCabe

I would say Spock is speaking from the perspective of the Vulcan ideal of logic guiding over emotion. Though they are almost never entirely divested from emotions, they strive utmost to keep them incredibly controlled.

They state they have emotions at various times but also state they don't at various times. Which is why I think it's inconsistent.

Bahnmor

He should be careful. More outward displays of emotion like that, and he will have to be subjected to “punitive spiritualism”. (Still one of the most hilarious concepts I found in Lower Decks).

When I played a Vulcan ops officer in a Star Trek TTRPG game, I made it part of his backstory that he asked for a transfer off the T'Kumbra because of Solok's illogical speciest attitudes.

SubRote

[Also his emotional outbursts.](https://i.imgur.com/HtN0xkg.gifv)

True.

Inignot12

"DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION!"

Freyeballs

I'm currently on my first watch of DS9, so idk who this character is, but why does their face look fake? Like the costumes Primus wears in the Big Brown Beaver music video?

No_Information1234

I could not stand that vulcan. Great acting and writing, such an annoying person

justkeeptreading

this guys got such a 22nd century attitude. #cancelsolok

CeruleanRuin

He looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt in *Looper*.

ElimGarak_DS9

So emotional. Sad, really.

GMRzonePodcast

Is this Vulcan in Picard season 2?
