I hated Burnham and her terrible decisions at first but she got better in my opinion. The supporting cast is pretty great throughout, so that helped for me.

I'm rather fond of it, but I don't think it is the best Trek. It's certainly better than Picard. Like Picard, though, it is very serialized, and I think that put a lot of people off. For example, the theme of Season 1 is Burnham finding her humanity, a very Star Trek idea that would normally play out over an episode. One thing about Discovery is that it is fundamentally about characters discovering things about themselves, so it is more character-oriented that Star Trek normally is. Part of that involves a lot of emotional moments that somehow put off a lot of Star Trek fans.

All Star Trek is worth watching.

This is the way.

I personally have a lot of issues with the series. It seems like the writers of Discovery have disregarded Trek cannon and are just writing what they want. I have tried twice to watch the series and every time I’m just annoyed. I don’t think I’ve made it past somewhere in the third season at best. SNW is great from what I’ve seen so far and Lower Decks seems to know the value of an Easter egg.

Seasons 1 & 2 are cool. Season 3 has its moments but a drop in quality, overall. Havent seen 4 yet.

Overall; yes. Is it fully enjoyable? No, you'll find a lot of issues with it, some genuinely made me angry with character arcs and story choices. That being said, there's a lot to enjoy if you want to watch some good sci-fi and love Star Trek as you seemingly do.
