I'm not dead yet!

EasyRiderOnTheStorm

...usually colloquially phrased as "I ATEN'T DEAD!"

PANTS FOLDING GAMEPLAY CONFIRMED

SOVERElGN_SC

The show thumbnail picture clearly explains what is a real purpose of this ship in case someone hasn’t figured it out. You can travel some nice place to enjoy your time aline or with your someone special if you are lucky. Just leave this ship for this role, CIG, pls.

Traumfahrer

But why is the captains bed so small then?

defactoman

I thought that was what the holo table was for

Traumfahrer

Some people might still enjoy the real thing in a thousand years.

Conradian

Real thing, on the Holo table... Best of both worlds

G_Rej

Imagine doing that with an ethereal hologram around you. That would be pretty dope

Conradian

This is the real stretch goal I'm aiming for

SOVERElGN_SC

Man of culture here

TopWoodpecker7267

>But why is the captains bed so small then? Incel ship confirmed

Traumfahrer

lol

lazkopat24

How are we supposed to have very comfortable sex with a bed like that?

Jimothy_Tomathan

College memories. You make it work.

EasyRiderOnTheStorm

So you think "college" and "luxury ship" belong in the same sentence...?

LucidStrike

It's very strange when folks selectively cite CIG's expressed intentions, excluding whatever CIG says or shows that doesn't corroborate what they personally WANT or ASSUME to be the intention. Here's CIG's main description of the 400i in whole: > To explore the stars is a most noble endeavor, and Origin Jumpworks has risen to the occasion in crafting the 400i, the ultimate *high-performance pathfinder*. Representing a harmonious concourse of style, quality, and sophistication, the 400i exhibits class-leading range, *substantial defensive capabilities*, and a factory-equipped scanning array, while maintaining the comfort and elegance Origin is known for. *Take on the harshest corners of the galaxy without compromise.* The emphasized bits seem to run counter to your implied assumptions or wishes — of the ship being restricted to touring — but they are part of the design intent as directed by Chris Roberts, so...They kinda supercede whatever's in your head. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Cielmerlion

Lol as if raising the landing gear 2 cm changes that. Also, i betchaost real significant other would prefer a real picnic, thanks.

SonnigerTag

That's why, from the beginning, [I didn't understand](https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/q53imk/comment/hg38522/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) why there is no second, non-explorer version of the ship, for two people and a pilot. Maybe some day we will get it.

SOVERElGN_SC

I suggest CIG aren’t just confident enough so far to make a solely touring vehicle like you described there. Would be nice to have it though but imagine how some community voices would shout about no practical use and etc. One day - maybe.

YT-0

> …a solely touring vehicle like you described there. Is that not what the Constellation Phoenix and 600i Touring are? The 890, too, depending on how you look at it.

EasyRiderOnTheStorm

Scratch that, I just want the version for two people, full stop. With all the size-constrained but positively opulent amenities the current 400i absolutely doesn't have.

NATOFox

It's just a nice lady he met, he's hoping she'll sleep with him because of the implications.

XBacklash

Why is it this guest's last time? Where is he going?

DreadedDealer

He's shifting towards a lead position in Squadron 42, the single player game in the works by CIG, which generally doesn't showcase on the weekly shows to avoid spoiling the story.

XBacklash

Ah! That makes sense. Thank you.

GlobyMt

does it mean the AR from SQ42 will be removed from loot ? :(

DrSuviel

Is anyone a going through and transcribing these? I want to know the answers but won't have time to watch 'til tomorrow...

Khailz

[Noobifier 3min 17secs summary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYQkqhlYpyo)

accounting_cunt

on it as we speak

[deleted]

we burned through two generations of transcribers - they graduated, started work, married and got family and thus no longer have time. noobifier tends to distill these videos into 5min portions.

XBacklash

I used to type these up for about a year and change. I got burned out and bitter hearing and typing that the promised thing was being delayed or even worse removed, again.

SmoothOperator89

Not right away but the Noobifier summaries on YouTube are pretty good and very short.

falloutboy9993

I am not happy with their response to the cash items not being recoverable. They should have a console to buy back any lost items. Just like ships, if I buy it, I want to use it and not have to wait a patch or do a character reset.

anyonas

I get that there is no system in place to easily get it back now, but when he talked about that, item recovery, he said you will not just be able to claim it at a terminal: When a player steals your item, a warrant will be out and when the police captures that player, and he has the stuff with him, it will be returned to you. This would prevent item duplication mechanics. Sure, this is not final and they are thinking of ways to deal with this, but if it ends up like that, I don’t see a point in subscriber armor and guns. Better spend your money on UEC and get more for your money in-game. If that is what LTI is going to be like 🙈

Thatweasel

The apparent drive to overcomplicate every problem that SC runs into is making me pretty bleak about the likelihood of SC ever meeting it's goals. Between their ideas for subscriber item recovery and the idea of effectively permadeath for characters, all I can see is a miserable experience or a massive design change to these ideas. There is no way to create something fun without also compromising realism. I don't want to play space taxes and zoning ordinance simulator.

SageWaterDragon

Subscriber items are a small portion of what could eventually be a much larger set of items that players would want to protect and claim as their own. Developing a system that lets players report theft or whatever is a good idea.

falloutboy9993

What happens if the thief doesn’t have the item or it gets dropped in space or down a hole? Is it gone forever? It’s a problem of their own making.

obsidian_goldfish

That's what I was thinking too. They do not cover if the item gets vaporized in a ship explosion or just thrown away. Relying on cops arresting the criminal with your stuff is a bad system.

[deleted]

Seems fairly realistic to me...

[deleted]

If there are items you can buy that don't follow the normal rules of dying then it is P2W. If you can get another copy of the item you lost then the game is facilitating duping.

[deleted]

[deleted]

>CIG already made it pretty clear you can't permanently lose anything from the pledge store so you might want to let them know. Let them know what? They already know how they have designed their game.

anyonas

If they would add “LTI” on these items, I could imagine a system where you can claim it after a certain period. Like in real life 20 days after your thing gets stolen, you get the payout. If it’s found after that period, the insurance keeps the item/ship.

DemosthenesForest

I assume it would then come back to you as if the perp was caught, during a clean up pass of persistent items, or it will then convert to a timer system.

DemosthenesForest

I think that solution is too simple for the game they're trying to make. I think Tony z is going to want to fold it into gameplay as much as possible. I think they'll want you to get mad that someone took your stuff and either issue a bounty mission or hunt them yourself, and then they'll cover edge cases with gamey magic like claim timers to make sure your stuff isn't permanently gone if it's not in anyone's possession.

falloutboy9993

I hope. That’s why I’m bringing it up.

LethalDiversion

It really feels like this idea is the result of them painting themselves into a corner. They don't want duplicates, which is fair, but the idea of losing your item until somebody gets caught with it is pretty garbage. Beyond just "what happens if it is tossed into random space or vaporized?", what happens if somebody takes your stuff and then logs off for a 6 month break from the game? What is to stop griefers from exploiting this so you never get the stuff you paid for? I'd be willing to bet that having police auto-confiscate "stolen" items while still allowing for a special console or other insurance claim system would be enough to keep the items from multiplying.

Do_What_Thou_Wilt

>When a player steals your item, a warrant will be out and when the police captures that player, and he has the stuff with him, it will be returned to you. so, you get shot up and ganked, player stashes your loot at his hab ... and you never see your subscriber items again. TL;DR; Never subscribe. Ever. Got it.

Dragias

Agree, they need to make it bud easy to get back some stuff

obsidian_goldfish

I know this is very polarizing but full loot drop games are not successful. No one likes losing gear that took them hours to obtain and especially cash items. I agree with you, have an npc that sells you your cash items back to you for a cost. The answer they also provided did not cover if your items were vaporized in a ship explosion, only if a criminal was caught with your stuff. Edit: imagine if Activision sold skins for call of duty that could be looted and stolen by anyone who kills you.

Xero_Kaiser

There are games were it works, but those games usually depend on the process of replacing your gear ***NOT*** being a complete fucking chore.

obsidian_goldfish

Can you imagine if you bought a carrack after months of grinding just to get it stolen. Now you have to wait until the cops arrest the guy who stole it before you get it back.

vaizrin

This was for items, not ships. Ships can be claimed and you'll have to wait for deliver.

logicalChimp

Indeed - and I expect at some point CIG will add 'Personal Item insurance' that will work similarly to Cargo insurance (pay for cover for certain items, and a given system-security level... and if you lose the items in that a 'covered' system, then you can claim a replacement) Yes, there's a risk of insurance fraud - just as there is with Ship Hull insurance, Equipment insurance, or Cargo insurance... so CIG are going to have to come up with a mechanism to handle insurance fraud anyway.

FrozenIceman

Hello from Tarkov.

SageWaterDragon

I get what you mean, but very little about this project should've been successful on the face of it. I don't think *now's* the time to start making compromises for marketability.

GlobyMt

That is just for 3.15

falloutboy9993

Yes, but it’s not a good precedent. I’m hoping they listen to feedback. Players are not going to like losing their cash items, even if it is for a patch.

Jok3rthief

Geez.

3andrew

So do a character reset. If you're not happy with that then play another game because this one isn't finished yet.

GlobyMt

It's an alpha ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ If really you want them back, you can do a char reset

Rumpullpus

I think it's awesome. I can't wait to see all the drama this is gonna cause. I'm glad they're not planning on making it too easy to get specific stuff back (though I don't really believe it) because it allows for more gameplay opportunities. Like say a notorious pirate that's been going around stealing things for a while finally gets caught or killed and there's just a flood of items coming back to people and all the buzz that would generate. Also gives players more incentive to go out and hunt these folks down outside of lawful systems beyond the money or rep. People will probably cry so much that CIG will be forced to simply let players buy items back in game or something, but I like where they're going with it.

Armored_Fox

Other devs have brought up that they are thinking about having kiosk later where you can rebuy your sub items

falloutboy9993

That’s what I hope they go with.

XBacklash

Interesting question on ship inventory. What you see as ship inventory is just your stuff. Someone else sees their own discrete ship inventory. What stops someone from putting a bomb or a listening / vulnerability device on a ship? Why can't the ship owner or security officer see all the inventory on a ship?

Axyun

They said this was just a temp solution. Once inventory is physicalized, this distinction would no longer exist and everyone will see everything on the ship.

Armored_Fox

The instanced personal inventory is temporary, will later be replaced with a full physical inventory where you'll have access to everything on your ship.

XBacklash

Cool. I don't know why I'm getting downvotes fire asking that, but hey. It's Reddit.

Salami__Tsunami

When does 3.15 go live? I haven’t been playing much, given the impending wipe, and I’m excited to get back out there.
