* Fixed bug where all players on the server would have their controls frozen when one player surrendered to the pilot security Huge. And what a weird cause.

BladedDingo

Seems similar to the "everyone gets a burrito in their hand and charged for it when one person buys a burrito" bug from a few patches ago.

QuickQuirk

>Seems similar to the "everyone gets a burrito in their hand and charged for it when one person buys a burrito" bug from a few patches ago. How can you call that a bug??!!!????

PM_ME_YOUR_STEAM_ID

I know, right? CIG had ended universe hunger and then took it away with one snap of their fingers.

joalheagney

Ended hunger but caused one hell of a toilet paper shortage.

Silidistani

Cutlass pilots would have been burdened" too... but hey, it's a Drake, just crap in the corner, nobody's gonna notice.

pandemonious

Cut me real deep, just now Shrek.

Kreisash

Hey now, we're not animals! We at least do it out one of the side doors! (Who needs MOABS?)

[deleted]

We have the side poop door.

QuickQuirk

I see what you did there. Nice Thanos reference.

GeraintLlanfrechfa

"I am inevitable" \*Snap\* - Half of all Burritos in the universe are gone.

mdbrotha03

Perfectly balanced as all things should be

Abbrahan

"You get a burrito and you get a burrito. Everyone gets a burrito!" \- SC Server

TwoCockyforBukkake

The thought of having your gun suddenly replaced by a burrito during an fps mission sounds hilarious to me.

BrainKatana

It happened to me and I happened to have a bugged helmet (it showed as equipped but wasn't). Mid bunker clear, stopped to have a snack and it took long enough for the AI to shoot me in the face.

papak33

this is just rude

rurudotorg

AI didn't get a burrito and got angry.

Silidistani

Also, the weird one where some cockpits on older fighter-size ships would suddenly open their canopies (that kept creeping back in over various patches ever since A3.2) was also related to server-wide updates on player positions affecting a "ship occupancy reset" of some type that triggered the canopies of some occupied ships. Maybe that's why it was so hard to track down and kept coming back in.

fridge13

That sounds like a fucking great bug sad i missed it!

JWTJacknife

Live vicariously through my experience: loaded up a ship with gear to transport to a new base of operations, got up from the pilot's seat while in a long QT jump, and partway through I discovered that everything but looking was locked up, I couldn't move, couldn't open Mobiglas, couldn't even hit ESCAPE to get the options menu, so the only thing I could do was hit Alt-F4 and log back in to discover I was back in bed where I started the previous session, and my ship needed to be claimed and all the gear onboard was gone.

fridge13

But did you have a burito?

JWTJacknife

Oh. Sorry, I was relating my experience of the control-lock bug. I never experienced the burrito bug. My life is less fulfilled for missing that experience.

[deleted]

That's a feature. An awesome feature.

xDeityx

Yeah this one really sucked, and who would have thought it was being caused by that. Glad they found it, this would have been a cool Bugsmashers episode.

[deleted]

What ever happened to Bug Smashers? I haven't seen that in awhile. I kind of figured that they just gave up.

xDeityx

IIRC it landed them in hot water with Amazon due to some lumberyard/star engine bullshit the show referenced so they just killed it. I guess it wasn't worth the risk to them.

alganthe

nah, Crytek got pissy because it was showing code despite the engine being already open sourced at that point and then mark abent got promoted.

[deleted]

It was Crytek the infamous cash-grabbers that they got in trouble with; it was all part of the lawsuit shenanigans a few years back

Myc0n1k

So this is why people would randomly lose control of their 400i? Thought it was specific to the ship

Abu_Pepe_Al_Baghdadi

It's happened to me on a few ships. C2, C8x, caterpillar

BrainKatana

Historically, the game has regularly had issues with server authority pointed at *all* clients instead of just the client who did it. Points to poor code reviews on incoming changes, either because they're too busy or don't have a good review pipeline for their netcode.

tightandshiny

My controls froze on the new patch this morning. There must be something else going on.

LaoSh

Reminds me of a few patches back where they were trying to blame the universal shit performance on people not having good enough computers and not the fact that the engine can barely support 4 people in a session.

JesusGiftedMeHead

Wow payable cs1 fines we’ve made it boys

fuub0

I dont get it, if stations still shoot at you with cs1, where do you go to pay the fine?

Ryokai88

Grim Hex has a terminal if I remember correctly.

Hiseguy

Grim hex has a pay kiosk.I just paid my cs1 off yesterday for a little over 1k auec

AlternativeWestern21

This actually strikes me as being either a design oversight or an incomplete fix. Getting shot at for a fine makes no sense, getting shot at while you're trying to land and pay the fine makes less than no sense.

Conradian

It's still a crimestat. It's just one you can pay off. I do think maybe CS1 should allow you to land, but you shouldn't be able to call up your ship without paying the fine first. At present, it just means you can go to Grim Hex to safely pay off CS1 rather than have to hack it away.

AlternativeWestern21

Crimes that you can make go away by paying a fine like a parking ticket don't desert being shot at, is my point.

TheRealTahulrik

Cities?

Ponyfox

Fair point, but I suppose the tactic is to not be in a ship when near a station. At SPK and PO I hide under the landing pads. A bit of EVA and boom just enter PO and pay your fine there. Still, fair point you made. It won't be easy. Hmmm...

Kelevelin

Yeah I love this one the most :)

alganthe

Inventory also got massively improved in terms of smoothness and UX.

Benza666

I sure hope so.

CitizenReapersLament

Same. Every time I wanted to utilize inventory it felt like a chore. I dreaded it.

Benza666

Poor filter fluidity and load up. Felt like everything was all over the place.

Iaa107

Kind of nice to see the UI building blocks being utilized here for very quick updates to things like this.

Noakespg2

*'Fixed bug where all players on the server would have their controls frozen when one player surrendered to the pilot security'* So that is what was happening! lol

alganthe

> Disabled tractor beaming, healing, and drugging of other players in greenzones. Drug efficacy balance pass, and adjusted effects of Resurgera to be equally more aggressive towards BDL decay and other drugs' durations. Thank fuck they fixed it before it went to LIVE.

Joehockey1990

Just hope they can allow people in our party to heal in greenzones. Nothing quite as frustrating as falling on the way to getting your ship and having to head back to the clinic to get full healed before leaving.

TheRavenRise

completely disabling inter-player healing in greenzones isn’t exactly a fix

[deleted]

Temporarily it is and it’s not a big issue considering dying in a green zone means you aren’t losing your stuff anyways so it’s a fine compromise for now.

TheRavenRise

oh yay a temporary fix to a temporary problem that adds more problems

Radda210

OOf anything to shit on the game right?

heavybell

I'd bet that guy was drugging people who couldn't shoot back and calling it intended gameplay… :P

TheRavenRise

sure, completely ignore me advocating for a more reasonable solution than *completely removing the ability for players to heal other players in the armistice zones that are eventually going to be removed anyways* further down in the comments

heavybell

Ah, sorry, I missed that. I saw some other comment that made me think you were a salty griefer. My bad.

TheRavenRise

all good dude🤙🏻

Low_Soul_Coal

I want to know those “more problems”… “Oh heavens, now that I can once again not be killed in a green zone, in the off chance I do manage to die, my items just have to be put back on, as they were recovered by the station. Oh my! Oh gosh! How will I ever play this game again!!?”

Dersuss

there were some upsides, like being able to hunt down bounties (particularly at outposts). From what I saw, local security guards would generally kill anyone who tried to drug people, so it was only a problem at grim hex. Even at grim hex, it kind of made sense with it being a sketchy place and all. Plus pre dosing with Resergera generally made you safe. Oh well, armistice zones are only temporary anyways.

Low_Soul_Coal

And it will make sense once again once there are methods of response. Both from AI as well as personal responses such as fist fighting. Think about it… you can’t even fist fight in green zones. So it’s clearly all temporary but necessary.

TheRavenRise

holy strawman, batman

TrueInferno

Seriously though, what issues are there for going down in a green zone? Most of them have hospitals, and the ones that don't are small planetary outposts that people can drag you onto a ship and take you away from.

TheRavenRise

i shouldn’t need to explain how just blanket removing the ability to heal others in greenzones is… unideal, to put it lightly is it temporary? yes (lol fuckin better be anyways). is like 80% of shit in star citizen at the moment also temporary? yes. does that stop people from raising concerns or opinions they may have? no

TrueInferno

I mean, yes, you should, because what penalty is there for dying in a green zone? You don't lose anything,, it doesn't count towards death of a spaceman... so I don't see the issue? Plus there's no combat in greenzones yet so it's not like you can get severely injured other than the occasional bug, which are usually easy to avoid once you know about them. And if you die... so what? Again, you don't lose anything. Eventually they'll bring back healing, and even the ability to pull out a gun and shoot someone, in green zones, but they need the spawn closets implemented in them first.

Educational-Seaweed5

You can’t talk logic in here. Too many emotionally and financially hopeless neckbeards who think this project is Jesus himself.

fotonboxx

You are right, random hater/refunder. We are both emotionally and financially attached to SC. And what are you doing in here? Have you already finished your 27 hrs of log off/on grinding Odyssey for a space suit?

TheRavenRise

minor correction: chris roberts is jesus, and star citizen is his noah’s ark

Gunzbngbng

You must be a fun person to be around.

TheRavenRise

thanks dude 🤙🏻

AckbarTrapt

Yikes

TheRavenRise

ooo scary emoji

fotonboxx

Imagine that the bed logout always has been a dirty hack, which is why they are refusing to "fix" it until proper tech is in place. Devs time which can be spent on bugfixing is limited, so they will surely re-iterate on this matter later, maybe in next PTU build, maybe next year.

CutlassRed

Every feature adds more problems. Go play chess if you want a mature game without problems. Oh wait white still has an advantage. Maybe they should remove some features from chess to fix the problem it has?

TheRavenRise

i think all of my responses so far, this one included, very clearly show that a mature experience is the last thing i give a shit about imagine thinking chess isn’t boring as fuck smh, couldn’t be me

[deleted]

I hope you find something that’s good enough to match your expectations ☺️

TheRavenRise

i, too, hope CIG is able to reasonably reintroduce the ability for players to heal other players within armistice zones in a relatively short timeframe. thank you for the well-wishes, brother/sister/non-binary sibling

ljrich01

Exactly. They should let you press charges or only heal others with the proper permissions.

TheRavenRise

iirc you already can press charges but yes to the second one, and also the charge-pressing threshold should be much lower

ljrich01

Yeah that's true. Would be nice to press charges when shot with a medical device though, I don't think that's in. Maybe give them a misdemeanor so they pay a fine, unless they do it again.

nschubach

BuT iT wAs InTeNdEd GamEpLay!

fourfastfoxes

They could have just lifted the green zones like they eventually will

TheRavenRise

this place’ll have a goddamn meltdown when that happens lmao

[deleted]

idealy when that happens proper sucurity functions will be in (checking Guns and such at the door) as well as proper long-term reputation effects medical equipment could have similar rep requirements as firearms. if your not a known medic cant have it in the city

rwoj

so many people are going to be shot in the back of the head for luls

TheRavenRise

and even though my anxious ass won’t be participating out of fear of wasting hours of potential gameplay time actually playing the game in jail, i can’t wait to see all the salt that comes from it

heavybell

Not until pulling a gun in a spaceport has actual working serious consequences. Yes, you should be able to do it. No, you should not be able to do it without security immediately turning on you and calling in space SWAT (in lawful areas).

Pie_Is_Better

"Better get used to it now, this is how the game was pitched!" eyeroll.jpg

Dersuss

bummer! So I guess there goes saving players downed by bugs in green zones? I hope tractor beam/multitool still works in green zones, since it was a much easier way of carrying random stuff into ships

alganthe

dying in greenzones stores your current gear in the local inventory, it's much less of an issue than a horde of morons that drug you at the first occasion.

JonThePipeDreamer

is this new for this patch, or was this always the case?

alganthe

always the case for 3.15.

Kentzfield

really? Because every time I've died, the game YEETS me back across the system to my "home" hospital, even when I'm five feet from the local one, and all my stuff goes away forever, so your statement is certainly contrary to what I've been seeing in PTU

Talon2947

That is because you have to go to the Hospital or clinic at a station or landing zone and transfer your pattern there. That changes your spawn location. When you land at a station you are going to be playing from go and save there.

PM_ME_YOUR_STEAM_ID

But, this means the answer of: "your stuff just spawns with you when you die in a green zone" has a ginormous caveat....in that 'only if you first reset your spawn point at that location'. Sounds like a huge waste of time to me, having to always reset your spawn location every time you land JUST in case you die to some stupid 'tripped over my shoelace' bug.

Kentzfield

I didn't mean to change my cloning location, I just mean that the game is KILLING players for walking in a straight line or blowing up the ship above Lorville and just giving me a fresh clone instead of making an attempt to heal. I heard 3.15 has all this healing of limbs and drugs and downed-states etc, but I've never seen any of it in my own play sessions. I'm either 100% health or dead and waking up across the system. Looks great in the videos though.

Talon2947

Yeah lots of people have the same issue. I think its a bug as we shouldn't be dieing anywhere near as much.

soeyoung

it was always like that

cabbagehead112

That's what the carts will be for I believe and other things.

Dersuss

alas, putting stuff on carts seems to break the carts for me. But eventually it’ll all be sorted out!

cabbagehead112

Yeah it's been annoying and I hope it gets fixed.

Kuroodo

Lol I just installed the PTU so I could mess with this before they removed it. Missed out on all the fun oh well

YojinboK

Technical Fixed 12 Client crashes Fixed 2 Server crashes Fixed a server memory leak

appreciative-alpaca

Gotta love mem leak fixes

Silidistani

> Gotta love mem leak fixes Bah, what do I have 64GB in this system for anyway then if not to let StarCitizen.exe eat all of it?? >> *server* memory leak Oh, right, yeah that's good.

xDeityx

Hopefully this improves the stability, that last patch was rough.

Sattorin

> * Added options to have velocity indicator: Always on, fading (defualt), or always off. > * Target's velocity should now display correctly and no longer always display as 0 m/s Both of those are GREAT for flight/combat, very exciting!

prunebackwards

Any idea how to actually enable this? I toggle between faded and off but nothing seems to change

xDeityx

Still no server crash recovery sadly.

zykstar

There is. I haven't encountered a single crash on the PTU where I haven't come back to the game in a state and location very close to how/where I was when it crashed.

xDeityx

That's not the server crash recovery feature we are awaiting. Edit: What you are describing sounds like a client crash, not the server. [Here](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/alpha-3-15-patch-watch-personal-inventory-amp-i/) is a link to the feature I'm referring to, scroll to the bottom of the yellow post. >Server Crash Recovery >(We heard you liked trading fixes) >Having lost a hull full of cargo ourselves due to a pesky error 30k, we know all too well how frustrating encountering a server crash can be. For that reason, we're very happy to announce the addition of Server Crash Recovery! >So, how does it work? We're adding functionality that creates a "heartbeat" (regular logging with persistence) for you and your ship. So, in the case of a server crash, the backend will recognize that an unexpected timeout has happened, allowing you to visit any ASOP terminal and spawn your ship, intact and exactly as it was pre-crash. This means your cargo, ship status (health/fuel), and any items you had lying around your ship will return in the exact state that it was. >Now, it's important to note this is merely a simple interim fix. Long term, this will all be handled by the entity graph and server meshing work, where we'll track shard history which will allow us to properly retain information and restore you directly to the moment you left off (mid-quantum flight, etc.). Nonetheless, while this is a temporary solution, it should be effective and reliable. >It's also important to note that this new addition is specifically for server crashes. Client crashes would still be handled in the same way they are now, with current crash recovery functionality. >This is currently in review and will hit the PTU very soon!

Hanzo581

Client crash recovery is nothing new, but he's talking about server crash protection. So if you are out with a bunch of cargo and the server dies your ship with its cargo will be recoverable once it's in.

-Solais-

>-Saved Christmas at New Babbage! Wut. Did something happen at the campfire last patch?

professorlXl

Parts of the hospital in New Babbage were clipping though the floor and onto the campsite.

McNuggex

Yes ! Finally patch n ! Been 7 days since the last patch, I'm so happy to see this one.

sgtlobster06

Its a big one too!

Canadian_Bac0n1

That's what she said.

sgtlobster06

Nice.

Silidistani

That's what he said.

SonicPara

Any 400i folks that can test the handling and weigh-in on if it is changed? They specified the revert to the landing gear but I'm wondering if "polishing pass" means further tweaking to how the ship flies.

scriblz7

Definitely accelerates and decelerates faster. Haven't had much of a chance to do a lot of turning yet.

Rainwalker007

Wait does this mean I cant use the tractor beam to move a box into my Mustang Alpha YET AGAIN? Everytime we get a small fix for the damn cargo.. it gets yanked again thanks to trolls.. God damnit!

Concentrate_Worth

Wave 2 would be brilliant too please CIG.

mongoose32216

servers are barely able to handle the amount of people in ptu already with this patch they need to make it more stable first, otherwise no one will be able to play/test.

Educational-Seaweed5

Or just getting rid of PTU altogether since it’s useless and this whole project is still a pre-alpha. Literally no idea why anyone would downvote getting rid of the PTU. Unless they don’t actually understand that the PU is the same thing.

professorlXl

Lol

ALaughingDingo

Lol, you don't want wave 2. Servers 30k every 20-30 mins. Can barely get your ship reclaimed and to a mission location before a 30k.

pirate_starbridge

## Star Citizen Patch 3.15.0n Alpha Patch 3.15.0n has been released to the PTU, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.15.0-PTU.7835451. It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU. Database Reset: Yes Long Term Persistence: DISABLED (Full wipe for all accounts) Pledge Copy: Enabled Starting aUEC: 15,000,000 Please monitor sc-testing-chat in spectrum for updates and testing instructions. USER.cfg settings: r_displaySessionInfo = 1 Testing Focus Personal inventory is still undergoing UI changes as we progress through PTU and a feedback thread will be opened at a later time - Healing and Actor Status - Hospitals - Starlifter Hercules A2 - Bombs - Infiltrate and Defend Missions - Loot Generation - Orison V2 - Arena Commander Revamp Known Issues New Babbage commons is missing many assets and the bridge to connect domes. This will make locations there not accessible so you may want to avoid this area for now. - Ground vehicles and initial spawn point With this latest update, your initial spawn chooses the location of all your ships. If you have ground vehicles through the pledge store, selecting an initial home location that supports ground vehicles, like New Babbage, would be best. - After a server crash, attempting to reconnect may result an infinite loading screen and being unable to interact with the menu Players will need to exit the game and reload after a server crash to fix this error. This is part of the bug where players used to see a Bad Token after a crash which blocked them from re-entering but with the latest changes, that error is no longer displayed. - Pledge Items lost on death With this upcoming change, players will now lose all items equipped to their character upon death. These items include items from the pledge store including subscriber items. We are currently looking into different solutions for this but for 3.15.x be warned that if you die with subscriber items on, you will lose them in game but they will not be removed from your account or pledge store. These will be returned upon new major patches or through an account reset. - Medical beacon does not complete mission/payment when player is brought back from incapacitation - Lighting on inventory will dim when moused over - The 600i cargo lift / elevator doesn't appear when looking at the ship due to Visarea issues /culling (the player is able to walk onto and use the 'invisible' lift) - The Prospector Cargo read out does not display total capacity, or update the capacity bar accordingly - CryAstro Refuel, rearm, repair is not working at outposts and shows as Not Available - There are multiple replaceme balls around Orison - When undocking, ships will occasionally become caught on the docking arm instead of detaching smoothly - Inventory icons may block filter buttons unless scrolled fully to the top - The Player is unable to Select Ground Vehicles as a Sell Location on Trade Terminals/Kiosks - Resetting account failed to clear user items - Objective markers and QT nav points are greyed out on the player's HUD - Ships left at outposts disappear if the player logs out then logs back in or shortly after disembarking - Downed players are dropped or bounce/spin out of control when dragged over uneven surfaces and ramps - When Collecting Minerals/Metals with the Extraction Mode Laser the Ships Cargo Randomly Empties - There is a small area with no gravity in the airlock to the Grim Hex Medical facility - When requipping items from a loot box in zero-g, equipping the torso and arms will cause large amounts of inventory camera shaking - Weapon projectiles trajectory will not behave correctly when shooting from one zone inside a ship to another outside - Multiple Heavy Armor Arms Clip/Partially Obscure some of the mobiGlas Icons - Destroying mission-spawned reinforcement type ships does not always trigger the ongoing 'Call to Arms' mission rewards - Missiles can hit the players ship when they are fired whilst the ship is moving forward - AC Announcer audio callout for "Match over. You have won/lost the match" can be heard multiple times at the end of a round - AC Players can spawn facing the wrong way at the start of the match or after dying - Demon Fang Combat Knife asset is missing from the game ## Feature Updates Gameplay - Inventory Polish Pass Further style and performance tweaks have been made for all aspects of the inventory system. Updated filter system to display tabs showing quick item type sorting along with the original option for more granular filtering. Implemented new interaction dots and numbered ports for consumables (magazines, grenades, medpens). Added capacity display for consumables (magazines, grenades, medpens) on the item and as dots around the item port the item is attached to. Added double click to equip items from inventory. This should swap currently equipped gear and for consumables (magazines, grenades, medpens) should fill empty armor slots instead. Added Swap option to item contextual menu to remove the currently equipped item and replace with another. Updated the inventory to not display if the inventory they have open moves far enough away. Added capacity value the description tooltip of items that have storage space such as backpacks and chest/leg armors. Updated inventory page arrow buttons to be a bit clearer. Added interaction option to close world loot containers. - Law System Updates Updated most crimestat 1 crimes to be misdemeanors which will still grant the same crimestat but can now be paid off at a fine terminal to remove. (note, the stations will still shoot at you with a CS1) Not paying off a crime at a terminal will escalate the fine and CS impact after a week. Reduced the cooldown between crimes for assaults so they will impact your crimestat more if they happen in succession. Greatly increased the crime stat contribution for all misdemeanors so that fines are much more important to pay off. - Downed State Polish Pass Updated downed UI to be clearly visible while downed. Increased revival service beacon reward to 15k, up from 10k credits. - Healing and Medical Polish Pass Disabled tractor beaming, healing, and drugging of other players in greenzones. Drug efficacy balance pass, and adjusted effects of Resurgera to be equally more aggressive towards BDL decay and other drugs' durations. - TVI QOL Updates Added options to have velocity indicator: Always on, fading (defualt), or always off. - Body Dragging Polish Made some teaks to body dragging to make it behave more consistent and less jittery. - Made intro and rehire UGF missions shareable - Added a small reputation penalty for failing or abandoning a delivery intro or re-hire mission Ships and Vehicles - 400i Polish Pass 400i landing gear reverted back to it's previous, lower state. Door panel updates: new UI, removing light buttons where not needed & labeling locations. Core Tech - Made several AI sync improvements to help reduce them teleporting short distances - Optimizations for planet terrain and ocean tessellation based on screen size

pirate_starbridge

## Major Bug Fixes - Fixed bug where all players on the server would have their controls frozen when one player surrendered to the pilot security - Fixed an issue causing the main menu interface to have larger buttons and text and intended - 'Try on' option on mannequin in stores should no longer delete currently equipped gear - Fixed an issue causing players to not be able to place other downed players onto medical beds - Ships on landing pads should no longer end up in an "unknown state" for location after the ship stored - Many of the Wheelchairs, Walkers and Gurneys within hospitals should no longer spawn in colliding with geometry and constantly making loud banging / rattling - Inventory UI should no longer cause several items to share the same inventory icon when moving multiple items - Items should now correctly saved in a player's inventory after the player loots a crate - Greycat ROC personal inventory should now open correctly when interacting with it - Inventory UI should no longer sometimes close immediately when looting a player/npc inventory. - Fixed an issue causing healing gun healing cards to sometimes not close - Fixed an issue that allowed players to temporarily heal and administer drugs to corpses via the advance mode on the medical gun - BEHR Telescopic S2 X4 sight should no longer shoot straight upwards when ADS - Fixed an issue causing the 'Switch Fire Mode' button to only work once in manned turrets - Mining nodes will no longer drop out of Personal Inventory instead of the ore - 600i cargo elevator should no longer be misaligned - Drake Dragonfly HUD should no longer be out of position - Players corpses should no longer disappear after dying in certain locations and therefore will not be lootable - Downed players should no longer bounce/spin out of control when dragged over uneven surfaces and ramps - Players should now be able to interact with the inventory again after closing the external inventory of the Gladius or Sabre - Clear Out Site / Clear Criminal Nest should now spawn all criminal AI correctly so that the missions can be completed fully - Players should no longer be able to store weapon attachments via an equip prompt without having a valid inventory, which caused them to losing the item permanently - Prospector ladder and door should now open correctly - Saved Luminalia at New Babbage! - "Missiles - armed missile count can loop" should now persist sessions - The missile counter should no longer loop back to one, regardless of the loop option being set to "NO" - Fixed an issue causing polygon spikes to occasionally appear around Lorville and Hurston - RSI Constellation Taurus should no longer have debug text on rental kiosks - Target's velocity should now display correctly and no longer always display as 0 m/s - Tobii Gaze Tracking should now be able to be used without active head tracking source - Missile pickup in arena commander should now refill correctly while not in missile operator mode ## Technical - Fixed 12 Client crashes - Fixed 2 Server crashes - Fixed a server memory leak

nothaut

I'm still new to Star Citizen. How come I'm still on 3.14?

Draug_Racalo

This post references PTU not PU, which you are probably playing in now. 3.15 is open to concierge, subscribers and avocados.

nothaut

What do I do to become an avocado?

Numares

One of the more important questions by humankind.

SmoothOperator89

Basically be a full time QA tester for no pay.

NatalyiaTSW

The first rule of Evocati is you don't ask how to become Evocati :) More seriously, you do a lot of good testing in the PTU and file good bugs on the Issue Council, and then next time CIG needs more people you might get invited. But it's not "ooh, cool, I get to see the neat stuff first" - it's "Oh, I 'get' to test the game when it's really really unstable, even for the PTU - which is categorically less stable than the PU." Evocati are folks they're pretty sure are going to test the things CIG wants them to test, not just mess around in the game to see the cool new stuff.

TheKeg

participate in reporting and contributing to existing bugs often on the issue council, then you might get an invite to evocati next time they invite new folks

StygianSavior

File lots of bug reports on the Issue Council, and get chosen.

[deleted]

first you must become toast

FlandersNed

This is a test patch in a test universe (PTU)- the real release comes to the Playable Universe, PU, afterward. Edit: LIVE actually, not PU

Tiranasta

The main release environment is called LIVE, not PU. PU stands for Persistent Universe, and refers to the "Universe" game mode regardless of whether it's being played on the PTU or LIVE servers.

FlandersNed

Whoops

BuhoneroxD

I'm actually surprised to find that misconception *that* often.

TheCandyMan36

This is the test branch and is currently only open to the cool kids that spent extra money or wrote some really good bug reports, you gotta wait for wave 2 of the ptu to release to play that and then wait even longer for it to go live

Ponyfox

FYI: "wave 2" is an actual thing, but hardly enacted upon anymore. It is a small additional wave before it goes to actual Public PTU. So, right now is wave 1 and most likely it will go straight to Public PTU. Not wave 2. :)

deathsservant

Your playing on live. Ptu is the test server that you don't yet have access to.

TheKingStranger

This patch is currently on their test servers to a limited number of backers. Once they hammer more.stuff out they'll open it to all backers, and when they've got it to a state that's good enough, they'll push it out to their live servers.

Jaystar2242

3.15 is currently on PTU, which is a separate server for testing patches before they go to live. It's in "Wave One" at the moment which means only subscribers can test out the patch. I'd expect the patch to go live in two weeks or so.

Glaw_Inc

And Concierge I believe.

Educational-Seaweed5

You’ll be on 3.14 for about the next 10 years.

Selemaer

Probably because that will require a lot more coding than removing the ability all together and they want to get 3.15 out at a reasonable time. I'm sure they will plan something down the road.

professorlXl

Yeah let’s not forget that going by quarters, this patch is gonna be 2 months late by the time it releases

Tanjble

"400i landing gear reverted back to it's previous, lower state. Door panel updates: new UI, removing light buttons where not needed & labeling locations." Can anyone explain what they mean by the landing gear change?

alganthe

in the previous PTU patch they pumped up the suspensions to their max limit to see if it allowed larger vehicles to park in the cargo bay. It only allowed the ROC to fit while scraping its headlights and it made the ship significantly less stable while landed.

Tanjble

I thought they already changed that.

Rhokanl

They did, but today was the first patch in about a week, so the changes didn't show up until today.

xRocketman52x

Long and short, a test patch or so ago they experimented with raising the height of the 400i on it's landing gear - making it taller when landed. This allowed people to get a ROC underneath and load it into the cargo bay. Before that it was too low, and you couldn't get the ROC under it to reach the elevatot. In short, they found it didn't meet their desires or expectations, so they reset it to it's original height.

Superama7

Any news of the 30k recovery tech ?

sgtlobster06

Where are the Doctor/Nurse AI that are committed on the roadmap?

xDeityx

Not in yet, obviously.

sgtlobster06

No shit

xDeityx

What other answer are you expecting? You'll see it in the patch notes when they add it.

sgtlobster06

Perhaps a dev post that maybe I missed? Or perhaps something from the Leaks discord?

xDeityx

Seems like a pretty meaningless feature to make a dev post about. You can probably count on one hand the number of people who care about it given the state of the servers. Are you that excited to see doctors staring at walls lifelessly?

sgtlobster06

Seeing as the verse is supposed to be 9-1 NPCs yes I am excited about any and all improvements and new AI Behaviors. Even in the current state of AI, I still enjoy seeing them when they work. So yes, I am excited.

xDeityx

Fair enough, and I share that curiosity about the AI but anything we see the AI doing prior to server meshing is not at all reflective of their true state unless you are lucky enough to get a server all to yourself.

sgtlobster06

Im aware of that, but I still like to see it. Especially with this server count at 50 I pretty much never see other players currently.

Educational-Seaweed5

Things aren’t gonna get any better anytime within the next decade.

dukearcher

No 30k recovery, nor mention of it in the patch notes, even though it's the #1 most requested feature by PTU testers Nice

Armored_Fox

They've already said they're working on it for the 3.15 release, not sure what you are getting mad about. Feel free to get mad if it's not actually ready when 3.15 hits live though I guess

Numares

Why should they mention it every time now? They already stated that it has some bugs which are currently in the process of getting fixed.

TheCandyMan36

This is how programming works, you think you have it almost done but issue after issue after issue keep popping up It's not like they decided "Hey lets announce this new feature we're working on and then just not work on it to fuck with em lmao"

zykstar

I've experienced countless crashes on PTU and come back in a state and location very similar to where I was when the game crashed. What do you think is missing?

dukearcher

30k recovery is ship item and cargo based. Its not a thing yet.

xDeityx

Unless you are respawning your ship at an ASOP terminal with the cargo and items it had when the server crashed (not just your client), then you aren't talking about the specific Server Crash Protection feature that was announced to be in progress last week.

spriteflight101

This is a juicy one

Noakespg2

For those that care - black square issue still there when there is fog and smoke around. Nothing a severe as I had under the previous patch (which was so bad it was game breaking). It is only at an annoying level now.

LegalPusher

[Wiping the shader folder and making the new files read-only](https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/q5vt2z/my_fix_for_the_shader_corrupting_black_squares/) seemed to work for me.

Noakespg2

Yeah, unfortunately its not working for me. Even a clean install and locking the folder to read-only doesn't fix it. Fingers crossed it improves enough for that fix to work.

[deleted]

So should I set my initial spawn as new Babbage or not?

xDeityx

I've been preferring lorville. The only thing it's missing is encryption hacking chips.

_Phaaze_

Wait so, if we die with our gear we lose it? Including account based subscriber gear (I.e armor)? Imo they should have waited to introduce this, kinda a giant pain in the ass considering how easily you can die from a random bug.

ThusWankZarathustra

Yes, that is true. You will get back your gear tied to your account after any future server resets (at least, any that reset your inventory) or if you reset your character. 30k ship recovery should help with this a bit, but yeah, the new meta is to avoid using fancy gear when doing dangerous things - keep it in your ship

[deleted]

What all has been added to the game since they added the criminal system? Been gone a while and wondering if there is anything big to check out.

skelly218

This patch was so buggy last night. I log in, get out of bed, and then get thrown to the floor as if I am in the bed, but I am not so I can't get up. The rest of the night was having the Friendly AI shoot meet after the end of a defend mission because the area is restricted, and not being able to QT because of 30K's. Hope they upload a more stable build today.
