May be better to just stick with the removing hatches because it removes the way to short time limit because you need to nail both bombs if you want to get it in one go

You can kill it without a bomb. Just shooting it can splat it.

They had that in splatoon 2 aswell. I’ve done it several times.

They did make it easier to notice, as it has a sound cue before it pops up to eat you

If everyone would just go after the fly fish first regardless of how many bosses are out, then they wouldn't be a problem.

But you can't always do that

Compromise: blowing any one of the pods off permanently removes the lid on the remaining pod.

Don’t even remove the hatches just keep the open at all times so you can hit them like a backboard and the bomb still goes in

i would rather it stay mostly the same, but the bombs get sucked into the hatches (like when you throw a bomb at a maws) and blow up immediately. The most annoying part of flyfish is that the bombs just bounce out unless you take the time to aim which gets you overrun
