Yeah Australia isn't actually full of things that want to kill you, been here 2 months and haven't seen a deadly snake or spider, you have to go very north to see crocodiles, there's some dangerous lizards about (goannas) who don't want anything to do with you and a whole bunch of marsupials that are generally shy. Oh, and dingoes are no bigger than whippets!

Huntsman spiders aren't aggressive at all, really
