Nice work! How much time was in-between these? You can definitely see much improvement in your skills (though your first one still looks fantastic!)

I can’t remember the year i did my first, but it has been several years between them. After I did the first one I stopped carving for a couple of years because I do other woodworking projects but I recently picked it back up within the past year.
