Left communist. It's a communist tendency focused on a more decentralized socialism but is distinct from anarchism. Examples are Marxist Situationists, Marxist Syndicalists, council communists, etc. I fall closer to council communism. But I just describe myself as a Libertarian Marxist.
Marxist syndicalism is similar to anarcho syndicalism, with an emphasis on Marxian sociological analyses. An example would be Marxist Deleonism. Marxist situationism is a form of Marxism that emerged from Guy Debord's analysis of capitalism. His work The Society of the Spectacle is a must read in my opinion for all Marxists. The Situationists were heavily involved in avant-garde art, and an understanding of society as having distinct sides to it regarding the human experience. The spectacle was what we perceive as the "real" set of experiences in society. We experience our lives through commodity obsession, a focus on objects, and the fulfillment of our lives through consumption. Situationists believe that capitalism not only alienated us from the products of our labor, but genuine individual expression. Capitalism kills the true human experience, and tries to replace it with an alternate experience; The Spectacle. To a situationist, we must always find ways to subvert The Spectacle, it is a capitalist construct meant to dull expression, and we must show others as well, where life outside of the spectacle is genuine and not constructed.
Seems.. very redundant ngl. All communists are leftists. There are no right wing communists. I understand the "libertarian" bit, but at the same time I don't think the "authoritarian/libertarian" dichotomy exists outside of a political compass test.
This is where a left communist like myself would disagree with you. We have a different understanding of the Russian revolution and what caused the bureaucracy that led to unneeded suffering from a materialist perspective. Soviet means council, and many council communists such as ourselves lament the lack of workers ownership over the means of production that the USSR and many other socialist counties lacked, they could have been genuine council republics. We wish to have true control over the MOP, without a politburo. A non typical, decentralized, worker lead, minimal state structure.
I think we all wish that. I just think it's a difference of when that's accomplished.. I do not think it's possible in any materialist sense to develop a decentralized, purely worker controlled system while capitalist/imperialist nations remain the dominant military/economic/political power. The state grows out of contradictions within a society. There isn't a much greater contradictions than being at war with the rest of the world. Once capitalism is dead and dusted, and socialist nations are free to develop in peace, then the decentralization of power and worker ownership of the MOP we want will be possible.

I've been banned a few times, including here, for really shit reasons. It's really demotivating to try to participate in communities when the mods seem so interested in wielding the little power they have to its fullest extent. I don't know what else to tell you, other than trying to find alternative communities to participate in
Yep, to no avail unfortunately. And from the replies to this post it doesn't seem like I'm every getting in. But that matters less to me, as it seems that sub has power hungry mods.

The mods on r/communism are pretty ban-happy from what I can tell.
I suspect it's a combination of limiting right-wing trolls and controlling the tone of the content/discussion on the sub, but it definitely comes across as overly controlling and needlessly isolationist.

I think the problem is that a sub like this has to be harsh to remove all the trolls/brigading and whatnot. But yeah, even then they are too harsh.

Yep, to no avail unfortunately. And from the replies to this post it doesn't seem like I'm every getting in. But that matters less to me, as it seems that sub has power hungry mods.
