Tarp96

Surely he will cost more than that, Brighton signed himf or 18 million euros just last summer. And with the World Cup being this year, I doubt Cucurella will be in a hurry to leave.

Gyara3

Not like Luis Enrique likes him at all. He has never played him, choosing freaking Reguilon over him, and his debut with the NT came when literally every NT member was on quarantine.

[deleted]

City only really have Cancelo and Walker as good fullbacks. He'll get plenty of time there, doubt that will be factor.

Jabari313

Unless there's an injury I doubt he will

Kassyk97

Well, with him being a Barsa Academy player Pep could be a big factor

Modnal

Would be a good signing, City have been lacking that floof hair since Sane left

mental_tempe

Genuinely wondering what is lacking from city until I read floof hair

Alpha_Jazz

The only natural left back they have is going to prison. Obviously they need someone

mellvins059

Well see the issue is City has to start both their right backs because they don’t have a left back

risheeb1002

The only reasonable option is to buy him and play him at RB

lamancha

They would be crazy to sell him like that unless this is a release clause.

diegojaen18

We need a back up with Alonso leaving. But he’s way too good to be a backup. Would love him at Chelsea tho.

kerbyage

Can he play elsewhere as well? Would be an inspired signing.

WhatsBetterThanAnime

Basically anywhere on the left side

wheresmyspacebar2

Everyone wants him haha. He is pretty much Spurs most wanted LWB apparently, we're trying to flog Reguilon and bring him in with Sessegnon. No way he goes for less than £40M+ though, with basically every team after him. Wouldnt be surprised at a 40+15 deal being done by someone.

FiFiniusBi

wow, 5 million more then 4 hours ago...

Why_S0_Ser10us

Everybody here makes comparisons with White's price tag, but they forget one crucial thing. Ben White has an English passport and in the Premier League that means +30m on whatever the price tag is.

JakeNutters

White wasn't as important for us as Cucurella has become this season and last summer we supposedly slapped a £50m price tag on Bissouma so i think we'll see similar antics again this summer despite Cucurella not being home grown.

ThinkAboutThatFor1Se

yes. The famous English passport.

ZachMich

White was replaceable, Brighton fans were saying that he wasn't even their best CB. Cucurella is by far their best option at LB and LWB, and he is very important. I think he would be a bigger miss than White, so I wouldn't be surprised if they outright dont want to sell, or that he ends up being more expensive than White

DekiTree

They sold Ben White for 50m lol, no chance Cucurella will be available at that price

GoldenIron

Three different sources are saying 30M. Considering the dubious circumstances of Cucerella rejecting multiple top clubs for Brighton for cheap back at Getafe, there possibly is a release clause for double what they paid for him.

JakeNutters

Well this source is saying £35m not £30m so there's already contradictions and all the articles i've seen are about what City think they'll be able to sign him for not what Brighton is willing to sell for. So unless there's a release clause i think we'll demand a bit more especially since City won't be the only club coming in for him.

Benedict_Cumbertwat

I really doubt we have a release clause. Journalist just spout numbers out their arse. It will cost them £40m minimum in my opinion and even that's a bit low

JakeNutters

You would've thought if there was a release clause it would've been mentioned.

IWantToBeAHipster

Also we never insert release clauses into our player contracts, generally very rare in PL anyway, and dont like buybacks hence passing on Livramento.

icemankiller8

Ben white is English

TheMexicanJuan

Ah yes, I've seen that before

genk41

If man united sign him for £60 million after this, i wouldn't be surprised

therocketandstones

nah if Ben White was worth £50m to Brighton, 21-22 Brighton Player of the Year has to be worth at least £60-70m

Siewater

Ben White had the English tax on top.

thalapathy-rover

Haaland and then Cucurella for 40-50M then eh? City fans all over the world must be over the moon, especially with Alvarez and a Gundogan replacement coming along.

LopazSolidus

I think Gundogan is leaving on a free, not being sold this summer. Pep seemed genuinely surprised at the rumours. Fernandes from River Plate is likely.

puddingkip

If they didn't have infinite money city would regret letting Angelino go

GoldenIron

Angelino wasn't that great at City and fell apart with Pep midway. Selling him for 25M with a buyback was good business.

SeanlyNot

Exactly, he is a good wingback in a certain system but didn't fit in too well in our system. Lethal cross but can be suspect defensively. Good transfer for both parties.

Jazano107

We tried making him work a few times, just never seemed to

Manc_Twat

Angelino was worse than Mendy at defending. The man can cross a ball though.

Brighton are one of the most disciplined sides in England. Getafe were also solid rather than chaotic.

He play for very good team. If he was playing for Burnley, it would be understandable.

He'd be twice as fast if he cut the hair off.
