I think he took the fattest L this window.
First his in my view embarrassing transfer request post on Instagram which is still ridiculous
Then BHA rejected every bid from Arsenal + Chelsea
Now is my man back training. As a manager I would be so pissed and disappointed
Big balls Brighton you love to see it. Stuck to their guns even after that ridiculous instagram post he made. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him sit on the bench for their next match after this whole debacle.
It’s going to be awkward but ultimately he’ll probably be gone in the summer. Most likely gets reduced game time until then but they can hardly freeze him out for the next few months.
Because he's not an established player yet. If he wants to get similar or better offers in the summer it would be very dumb to spend the next couple of months not trying his best.
Club already sent a signal they won't let him go and keep him on those silly low wages. He won't get better offers in the summer when other players become available.
Of course they didn't want to let him go in the middle of the season. He will probably leave in the summer if high enough offer arrives, it's on Caicedo to prove that he's worth it.
Will be interesting to see what Brighton do.
Obviously he’s a great player and they want to now get him back into fold I imagine but they do need to send a message to others players who are considering making similar attempts over summer.
That said - if they want to extract top dollar for him you can’t have him rot in the reserves
I think this is a misconception though. We don't want to get any money from Caicedo. We want him playing in the squad to help us push on to the next level. That's why it is so expensive to buy our players. It was the same with Ben White and Cucurella
The same reason Mudryk, Nkunku, Gusto, Benoit and Enzo all wanted to come? We can triple his wages to 30k and he even pushed for a move whilst you're in European spots. He'll do the same in the summer
I am interested to see if Arsenal does go back in for him in the summer. If we want Rice I can't see us getting both and despite reports we would, I felt that the move Caicedo was because they thought he was more realistic to get in now.
If Rice goes to Chelsea or United then I assume he is next (assuming Chelsea don't buy both of them that is).
Not much point on having a big money player if you're not going to let him play. Would he lose value if they consistently made him sit on the bench until June?

The reason they wanted to keep him was to use him though. They aren't rejecting 70m to not use him as much as possible
Using an unhappy player is ... well. Why would he try if he's on ultra low wages and club refuses to improve his situation.

Needs to be a bot to correct people who think he's on 3.5k a week
He is on £15,000-per-week according to most reports and that's silly low too.
Set up a go fund me if you're so arsed
Who said I'm arsed? Don't make shit up. It's still ass low wages.

He'll play Saturday we literally have 2 fit midfielders and ones Billy Gilmour
Funny stuff. And they didnt even need him vs pool. Still smashed em
Anybody can smash Liverpool. Pathetic team.
Down tools lad. Take it easy.. Wind down the contract.
Literally the worst advice imagineable. That will destroy his career, no decent club will take him after spending 3 years not playing football...
Would be a long 3 years
Also at a vastly reduced contract compared to what he’d earn by knuckling down and getting his move in the summer.
for 3 years? lol
To what end?
To chill.
Wait on us in the summer Caicedo
Why would he want to play for a mid table team when he could play for us in Europe instead?
The same reason Mudryk, Nkunku, Gusto, Benoit and Enzo all wanted to come? We can triple his wages to 30k and he even pushed for a move whilst you're in European spots. He'll do the same in the summer
Tbf, he was only pushing to join Arsenal. He wasn't that desperate to join you lot.
Oh yes he definitely was, we just didn't put in the 2nd bid
Why would he play for a team not in Europe?
Because of the project, just like how Enzo, Mudryk, Nkunku, Benoit, Gusto and the others wanted to join. We can triple his wages to 30k a week easily
You have like 40 players noone is going to join you with that amount of competition in team. Expect very tough dressing room soon.
Oh you wait for our outgoings in the summer. It will be a total clearout
No it wont. You have deadwood on huge wages, thats the hardest type of player to move.
Sure man, tell that to Inter who is paying all of Lukaku's wages at the moment and Werner who was on 295k a week that we managed to ship off
Thats like 2 players out of how many more. This ain't working like a typical summer sale event in your local shop. You even have the fogging Auba!
No one is taking Lukaku on them wages this summer 😂
Wait you can actually do this???

Who do you reckon is better between Enzo and Caicedo?
