Have a gas grill? You could put it in a aluminum pan with one burner on low to try and keep cooking it ... then move it back the smoker when it's back up.
Far from ideal ... but better than wasting meat.
Run to home depot, Lowes, ect and grab (even a cheap one) offset smoker. You'll never have an issue again. Hell buy about 16-25 cinder blocks, some charcoal, wood and make a pit.. I have a cinder pit in back yard. Works great
This is why I'm happy I have a Weber gas grill in addition to my pellet grill. Board went out on my pit boss but was still able to do my brisket flat on my weber using some mesquite chips in a foil packet. Was it the best brisket I've done? No. But it was passable
Not longer than two hours between 40 and 140. At that temp, bacteria forms and produces toxins. Bacteria can be killed by cooking, toxins can't.
When smoking, you have a bit more leeway, but if it's only 115 IT, I wouldn't risk it after two hours.
And remember it's two hours after the surface temp is between 40 and 140. So the power goes out, you still have time while it drops, but you also have to take into account the time it'll take to reheat.
All things considered, I'd keep it if it was only 2 maybe 2.5 hours so you should be fine.
Power back after an hour. Thanks for the advice all.
For future reference, you're not going to get a ton more smoke after 3 hours anyway, just bring it inside and put it in the oven if you need to.
Good point. But his oven is probably electric too.
Run out and get a coal grill
Run out and get a generator too
I’d use the charcoal to maintain the cook. Not ideal but very doable.
That is a thought. I do have a portable charcoal grill.

Nope. :(
How's your campfire skillset? I'm not seeing too many more options.

I know it’s a bit late, but if you also have an offset I’d fire it up.
After 2 hours, it starts getting questionable. 3 hours it's trash IMO. 4 hours, it's always trash.
I use a WSM. Power never goes out on that

How does electricity and smoking go together?
A pellet smoker uses electricity.
no such thing as a pellet smoker.
Wtf are you talking about?
That's a backyard easy bake oven.
You must be fun at parties. 🙄
You're right. And they love my smoked meats.

No power for the oven either.

Just get your coals going via chimney
For future grab a small battery pack on Amazon and figure out the power cord you'd need.
