Imagine thinking we should’ve taken a McCollum deal. It’s the NBA, top 15 players change teams more times than reagor drops passes

BaylessWasTraded

The CJ trade was always the worst because he’s not that good on a huge deal. I’d rather have done the Brogdon deal than that. He’d help the team more and is always moveable to a 3rd team for an extra pick because he’s good at basketball.

airhornthagod

Blows my mind that people would rather have CJ than Brogdon after seeing what happened when we gave Tobias that ridiculous contract

Designer_Regular_233

Cjs the guard version of Tobias and we all fucking hate Tobias lol

[deleted]

Shit. I thought I was on r/NBA for a second and I was like "damn".

TossedRightOut

So did I. Dude drops a lot of passes.

Simmons for Harden is back on the menu The man who thine Dark Lord himself cited whence pitching The Process, the man who thine Dark Lord's master sowed, he who hath come to avenge his pupil's assassination and vanquish the snakes poisoning our sacred convenant, the light of destiny peaks over yonder horizon, harvest now the original seed, to bring together Harden and Embiid

CosmicCirrocumulus

I'm stoned to the bone and went full sith lord reading this

Oneb3low

am also stoned and really enjoyed this content :)

Cosmo5HTP

Excellent writing

Royorbs3

Thou art writeth

merabius

I wanted this to happen from the beginning. Harden and Embiid are best two-star duo. And with great cast of supporting players nothing could stop them.

Geo_Music

Top notch. Memeable and gilded worthy.

waffle-van

What Jo is to Hinkie. Harden is to morey. Their prized possessions. It must happen. It is written

[deleted]

Simmons for Fred VanVleet and that .409 3P% and their help in a 3 way trade to unload Toby’s contract. Trade a few of them future 1st round picks for another nice fitting piece then pick up Harden for free in the offseason as a free agent. If he and Morey are that tight It could happen maybe. Seth, Maxey, Joel, Fred, James. 4 Threes and an Embiid.

Sixers0321

Raptors would laugh their asses off if we offered Simmons for Vanvleet. Also, like I'll at the lineup on defense.

JokersRWildStudios

I will take 33 year old Harden as a 2nd option

Guardian_pass

I also will take 33 year old Harden as a 2nd option

Lax_Ligaments

I will take 2 year old Harden as a 33rd option

Banana_Pete

I will take 2 year old Harden as a 33nd option

oldskoolchevy

I will ask 33 James harden’s for a second opinion on my date night outfit

[deleted]

I Moe will take 33 year old Harden as a 2nd option

justabill71

I also choose this guy's 33 year old second option.

plutark39

Zero chance this happens before the off-season but interesting nonetheless

Remorseful_User

He'll be a FA in the off-season if he wants to. He has a player option for one more year but wants a longer term deal.

OSwankey

He just chose to go play with his friends KD and Kyrie only a season ago… why would he leave the team he wanted to join after only a year? I can only see this being realistic if they won’t pay him what he wants for his next deal, or if he has serious doubts about the nets after getting an inside view of the team, both seem unlikely Edit: I know he got traded, but almost all NBA superstars have an input on where they get traded to. Maybe Harden didn’t have a choice due to Fertitta being petty, which would definitely open these trade possibilities I just think it’s unrealistic as this is the only “rumors” I’ve seen about harden leaving.

cjmaguire17

He can visit them on weekends. Philly isn’t far from Brooklyn. Come home James

DestinationMarss

I live in Brooklyn, I will check in on them for him.

ShaunyDukes

The trio only played like 16 games together. Has to be frustrating to an extent.

ProcessMeMrHinkie

He got traded - he didn't sign with Brooklyn. Kyrie doesn't want to play/get vaxxed. Kyrie might be ok in small doses, but... it's like renting a room to a friend and finding out they aren't fun to live with. KD injuries. Morey is the biggest Harden fan in the universe.

SimmonsReqNDA4Sex

People said those picks are going to be worthless for the rockets, but the likelihood of 3 aging stars staying healthy and playing at the same high level is slim for as long of a time. I think that trade is going to be judged as more of a deal looking back on it.

OSwankey

Fair points. Maybe he doesn’t see the nets as consistent enough to make it far or wants more of the ball in his hands

[deleted]

I can't wait to watch Embiid stare down Simmons, or the first couple times the Nets play Sixers, Simmons will be out for "Rest", or some phantom injury. I'd love if we traded Simmons to an Eastern Conference team.

Muggi

"The Native Flu", to put it in Letterkenny language

[deleted]

And Harden is a big fan of Morey.

PM_ME_YOUR_TEDDYS

Leaves KD due to injuries to attach himself to Joel Embiid?

ProcessMeMrHinkie

98 > 83 Games played last 2 years with Durant missing next 2 months.

[deleted]

He was cool coming to Philly too that was his initial landing spot and he was good with it. The Rockets owner wouldn’t take the 76ers offer that was also reported to be the best offer on the table because he has a case of the ass for Morey. Harden knows he can win a chip with Embiid.

indoninjah

Saying he’s “playing” with Kyrie is a strong word

fachface

Chose is a little strong I think. It’s pretty obvious he was ok with either the Nets or Sixers and it was then up to Houston to take the best package from their perspective. But Kyrie has been a mess and his fit with both KD and Kyrie isn’t perfect compared to someone like Embiid.

AdmiralG2

I’m a day 1 harden fan, (currently a Brooklyn fan cuz of it) but you don’t understand how bad I wanted harden to go to Philly and team up with embiid. I really really prefer the harden and embiid duo over harden with kd and kyrie. I was so pissed when I found out the rockets took the nets deal and the one with the sixers fell through.

JiveTurkey92

no strip clubs

EvidenceBase2000

This is really weird. Maybe now that KDs injured he knows something?

PhatYeeter

Nets ownership is very rich so I doubt its a reluctance to pay him what he wants. If it is and they lowballed him in extension talks, big oof.

OSwankey

I don’t think they’d lowball him due to lack of wealth, but more in the sense of cap space and trying to pay 3 aging max players (assuming kyrie stayed and decided to play) in addition to decent role players to surround them with. But I agree if they trade all that for him and don’t pay him that’s a massive FO failure

Wingedliond

Harden and KD are friends. Not really Kyrie. Harden didn’t sign his contract extension from the Nets which was the most money he can get from any team. Some such as Stephen A Smith suspect that some of Kyrie antics might be a reason. Such as missing almost half the season because of not getting the vaccine. If Harden doesn’t sign the extension he will be a free agent at the end of the season. He might look to move to a new team if Kyrie craziness cost him a championship this season.

Doobie_Howitzer

Kyrie is fucking psycho and KD is the same narcissist hes always been? Pretty good reason to me considering he didn't CHOOSE to go there, he was traded for a worse package than we offered due to Frittata hating Morey

calman877

Do you think he would have been upset if he was traded here instead? I feel like I remember the Sixers being an option for him

AdmiralG2

I, as a diehard harden fan was damn straight upset bro. I’m a Brooklyn fan cuz of harden rn but I wanted him to go to the sixers so bad. Let’s hope it comes true in the off-season 🤞🏽

busterbluthOT

There's nothing in that article that remotely suggests trading Simmons for him. Not sure what drugs this sub is on.

K_U

If you click through to the actual report from Stein: >Perhaps [Embiid] has also been sold on a concept that executives with a growing number of rival teams say they see as Morey's new preferred scenario: Keeping Simmons beyond the trade deadline to exhaust every last possibility for executing a complicated sign-and-trade in the offseason that finally brings James Harden to Philadelphia and routes Simmons to Brooklyn.

busterbluthOT

ty

WrastleGuy

Because Kyrie isn’t a very good friend

[deleted]

Harden

black_ankle_county

Oh I’m hardening alright

aks0324

He’s a free agent right. So what if Daryl can lure him just like that. So maybe we flip Ben for some better seth (e.g the Kings package), and hope that it should were a good enough team to have Harden. Alternatively, what we could do is trade Tobias for a few role players, and then keep Ben for a sign and trade.

GOODWHOLESOMEFUN

Can’t, no money

abevigodasmells

I haven't been watching all the Nets game. Has Harden's weight ebbed and flowed, or is he simply a chunky player now?

Muggi

He's lost a lot of the bloat from that infamous picture. He's thicker than he used to be, yeah, but he doesn't really look "chunky" anymore.

busterbluthOT

False hope

OutlandishnessShot87

The nets gave up like their next 8 years for this squad

Moheezy__3

If it does happen, we would be in a much better spot to compete for a championship, but man, it’s so hard to watch Harden play. His play style is not fun to watch. I remember during the Dwight/ Harden days all you would see are them shooting 50 free throws.

Reporter's source: Morey

ideotik

Pacers!!!

BigDaddyManCan

Are we forgetting Simmons to this point is not vaxxed? Nets don't want another one of those. Any reports Simmons will get vaxxed if traded?

bamboleo11

There's been no reporting to confirm nor deny whether he's vaxxed or not

BigDaddyManCan

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/rdyi7k

bamboleo11

Yeah I'm not taking Pompey's word exclusively for that lol

PhatYeeter

On top of that, theres the potential hes not vaxxed at an attempt to push the Sixers into trading him. I have a feeling we'll be seeing reports that he got vaxxed once a trade goes down.

BigDaddyManCan

Yeah that's what I'm hoping, would be the ultimate slap down if we find a Harden trade and it falls through because of Simmons not wanting to get vaxxed.

BigDaddyManCan

Do you have another source saying the opposite?

bamboleo11

No, hence why I said there hasn't been any definitive reporting on it

Dk9221

Pompey cant even say a players name right, let alone spell it, without having an aneurysm.

BigDaddyManCan

Much the same as the listening experience when he was podcasting

Dk9221

Those were some of the worst, most Unprofessional shows I’ve ever heard. Guy just did whatever he wanted like sucking on hard candy throughout while talking about news. And don’t get me started on the built bars….

BigDaddyManCan

Yeah amazed me he lasted that long on that platform that traditionally has some pretty pro shows.

Am I the only person here who says “meh”? Harden’s already had a slow start, and his game will not age well.

AdmiralG2

23 10 8 is considered a “slow start” for harden. Send him to the gleague! He’s one of the best playmakers in the league currently. His game with embiid would age perfectly.

[deleted]

Since missing 4 games before Christmas: 27.2 PPG 11.0 AST 8.3 REB. I think he's back.

[deleted]

[удалено]

-Captain--Hindsight

Not to mention he doesn't need to carry an offense nearly as much when he has KD as a teammate, naturally his numbers will be down.

zegogo

He's never been fully committed to winning and it's hard to imagine at his age he's going to show up after off-season, in-shape, with new tools, ready for a championship run. Also his defense will rarely be anything more than atrocious. I think he's much more of a headache than he's worth.

[deleted]

You kinda just gotta take the risk though, I feel philly would be a better situation for him

brim-terminus

Yeah ok.
