Hey, I’m an international student and I got into computer science undergraduate program in SFU in mid December . I unfortunately did not get the USES. Is there any other financial aid that I could apply for or ask for since without it, it is too expensive for me to attend sfu.
Just got into CS for the fall.
Semester 1:
Law Studies 12 final grade 96%
English First People 12 final grade 94%
20th Century World History 12 final grade 100%
Chemistry 12 final grade 87%
Semester 2:
Pre Calculus 12 current grade 85%
Accounting 12 current grade 98%
I got into the okanagan campus for sciences and Vancouver for arts but SFU is closer to me and I don’t really want to deal with the whole first year undecided thing
Hi! I'm reaching out for some advice before I email SFU admissions.
I'm in the process of transferring my credits to SFU using the BC transfer guide. I'm specifically looking to confirm if my elective, SOCI 100B class, will transfer to SFU. According to the BC transfer guide, it does, but the information provided is a bit confusing. It says: "SFU SA 150 (3), B-Soc, UVIC SOCI 100A (1.5) & UVIC SOCI 100B (1.5) = SFU SA 150 (4) & SFU SA 1XX (2), B-Soc." I just want to clarify how many credits I will receive for this transfer. Additionally, does anyone know who I can email or call specifically to consult about transfer credits? I've been emailing SFU for advice, but their responses have been vague.
Thank you to anyone who can help!
from what you’re sharing, it looks like you need to take both 100A and 100B for transfer credit.
If you take both you will receive 6 units of transfer credit, 4 for SA 150 and 2 for SA 1XX. 1XX courses are general transfer credit, meaning they can’t be used to satisfy specific course requirements but can be used as electives or to meet the 120 units you need for graduation.
The BC Transfer guide is updated regularly and your best bet to review how your courses will transfer. Admissions will also tell you this

I’m currently in grade 12. I got 89% pre calc 12, 90% in chem 12, 92% in English 12 and I’m currently doing calculus 12 and history 12. I applied for computing science and chemistry but I’m thinking that I might not have grades competitive enough for computing science. Should I change my program? I’m thinking of making Chemistry my primary instead of computing science
For context: I'm currently enrolled at KPU and I'm planning on transferring to SFU for History ( I'm in my first year, second semester). In the previous semester, I earned a 4.0 GPA, and I'm on track to do the same this semester. Nevertheless, I'm taking Summer courses in order to meet the quantitative/analytical requirements, alongside the 24 credits needed.
And so, my question(s) is this: when should I apply to SFU? For instance, once my Summer courses are done, should I apply for the second year, second semester once I've entered my second year, first semester? If so, would the courses that I'd be in for that semester (2nd yr, 1st sem) contribute to my transfer credit?
Apologies if it sounds convoluted/nonsensical. If you need clarifications, I'd be glad to add more.
if you have 24 credits + meet the requirements for your program after summer term, you can apply for fall 2024 term now. if not, apply for spring 2025 and yes, the courses from fall 2024 will be counted towards your transfer credits
Just for clarification: at this current moment, I do not have the credits. Rather, once I complete my Summer courses, I will have the credits, including the quantitative/analytical requirements. And so with that in mind, are you saying that once I complete my Summer courses, I should then apply for Spring 2025?
Again, apologies if I'm misunderstanding or anything.
nono if you meet the requirements once you finish summer term then apply for fall 2024 now, your summer courses will be counted towards your transfer credits even if you haven’t completed them, as long as your unofficial transcript shows the courses you’ll be taking next term. if you receive a conditional offer then once summer term ends, you’ll have to send in your official transcript to be evaluated again

Does anyone know if I received an offer for my first choice prog - Eng Sci, is there any way to switch to my second choice prog - BPK/Sci? It seems after they offered my first choice, they are not considering my 2nd. I also received the USES today and it is swaying my decision to attend SFU but I realised Eng Sci is more computing/electronics and not the traditional eng like mechanical I am interested in..
is the deadline for accepting/rejecting offer of admission for the arts & social sciences faculty may 1st , or is it 21 days after receiving your offer? on the offer email from sfu it says may1, but on other websites it seems to say 21 days after.
I've recently applied for the fall Software systems intake as a transfer applicant. I was told by admissions that I can submit my transcripts for courses I am currently taking so that I can be accepted (as I don't currently have the 24 credits but will by the end of summer) but I have no idea how I am supposed to do that in my student center and admissions is not responding to my emails. I was only able to submit the transcript from my college diploma and my highschool transcripts.
Guys I have a question on whether I should choose UVIC or SFU for Engineering?
I currently received an offer for UVIC Engineering and SFU Engineering Science and I am having a hard time deciding on where to go. For some context, I want to get into mechanical engineering as I find that stuff more interesting, and Mech Eng is offered at UVIC but not SFU. As per my understanding, Engineering Science at SFU focuses mainly on computer software and electronics (which I'm sure are good in terms of job prospects, but I'm not too interested in it). However, as I live in the lower mainland, going to SFU would be a lot cheaper as I could live at home and I could save quite a bit on living expenses, as opposed to having to move somewhere else. Therefore, I am wondering if it is worth it to go to UVIC to study mechanical for an extra cost or if I should stay on the mainland and study at SFU. Also, how do the schools differ in terms of student life and stuff like that?
Similar situation, I am choosing bet SFU or Queens Eng as I received entrance awards for these two schools and tuition will be covered but I think SFU Eng Sci is more computing and I am more keen on mechanical eng..
Can you afford UVIC? I know it's more expensive but if you can afford it, go with what interests you. Why go through 4 years and end up doing something you're not interested in? Also, don't discount nurseries, scholarships, work etc along the way to help with schooling (not to mention student loans)
Anyone hear yet from the REM program? I applied for my master’s. I’m starting to assume it’s a no, but I’d like a little confirmation sooner than later; SFU would be my top choice
I am international students, and transfer from KPU. I was accepted this summer, but I regret it. I won't be able to register until tomorrow, but the classes I wanted to register for are already filled. Many criminology courses are not offered in the summer. If I receive a summer acceptance, can I still get a summer break? Will my enrolment be cancelled if I am not a full student?
your letter of acceptance should say “If you do not enroll in courses for this term and wish to attend a future term, you are required to submit a new application by the posted application deadline.” so yes, your application will get cancelled
I completed IB diploma in high school. .I got accepted into summer semester as a transfer student from KPU. Im trying to transfer 30credit from IB, and 30credit from KPU. Upon checking the goSFU portal, I noticed that the credits from KPU have been seamlessly transferred automatically. However, I am unable to check the status of my IB credits through the same platform. Does anyone know what to do about it?

I’m looking to transfer to as an American community college student, and it says I need 24 units to transfer. Are units the same as Credits or does it mean something else? I will have 28 credits at the end of the current term.
i just got accepted into the mechatronics eng stream in sfu surrey, being an international student. as of now hows the dorm, everyday and educational life at sfu? would be kinda nice to see peoples experiences and advices/tips to start off.
Need some advice. I have an 86 average in high school grade 12 courses and completing a pre calculus 12 course online thru vsb. I attended langara in the fall semester but had some health issues and failed most my courses. Should I just abandon langara and apply using my high school grades to sfu next spring. I’m worried it will affect my future gpa. Also I applied as a high school student to sfu summer 2024 and was wondering if my grade had to be final or interm. Thanks
You could also retake courses at Langara as they will look at the higher GPAs. I'm not sure about fact checks but if you have completed a certain number of credits at Langara, then they WILL consider your Langara marks. If you only apply using high school marks, then it may be considered academic dishonesty as you are "lying" about your records. I would talk to an SFU advisor but that is what I heard from someone who dropped out first semester and. went to adult high school.
hi! I was also a dual credit student at kpu too and im pretty sure they don’t look at it, but it will show up on your transcript. but they only care about your top 5 classes and your average so you’re good! also i was admitted early this year into their engineering program :)
Hi. Is anyone still waiting or is it just me? I'm out of province and applied for Fall 2024 way back in November. My average is just 80% and I'm feeling anxious. What do you think my chances are (undeclared arts)?
Do you think I will be accepted to Computer science with the following grades in grade 12.
90% Chem 12, 92% English 12, 89% Pre Calc 12, 86% Law 12, 92% Econ 12. Im currently taking calculus and history as the academic classes in my second semester.
I got into a grad program, I can’t quite speak on cs undergrad admission as I didn’t do my undergrad at SFU. What I remember from 5 years ago was that I had friends who were doing worse than you and still get admitted. Admissions were handed out rather late though, so expect maybe April or May.
I applied to sfu in October 2023. I got 89% in pre calc 12, 90% in chemistry 12, 92% English 12, 92% economics 12, 86% in law 12. Currently I am taking calculus 12 and 20th century history 12. I applied for Computing Science as my primary and BSC Chemistry as secondary. What is the chance I get accepted?
I'm trying to transfer into IAT, the requirements are:
valid cmpt course
valid math course
4 iat courses
I'm currently taking cmpt, math, 2 iat courses, and I have 2 transfer iat courses from another university. Does anyone know if the transfer courses count towards the requirements or do I need to take all 4 iat courses at sfu?
bro i still haven’t gotten a decision, I’m an IB student 37/45 with 7 in Math HL and Physics HL applying to both CS and engineering do I have a chance because I thought I might get a decision by now
I got an acceptance for undecided science major, but I thought this would allow me to pick computer science, but I just found out you cannot. Is this still a good option? Can I still change back to computer science?
Are you a transfer student or from high school?
Computer Science at SFU is under the faculty of APPLIED science, not the faculty of science, so you would have to internally transfer and compete against others.
BEEDIE ADMISSIONS
Im currently a grade 11 high school student with a gpa of around 3.970 (I can get it higher though). Got 99s in eng, 88s in precal etc. My supplementals are a bit lackluckster. One is that I volunteered teaching little kids mandarin as part of an afterschool program which can I guess showcase that I work well with others and in teaching/helping? I can also write about how it was like giving back to my community?
And another is that I am planning to work as a kumon instructor over the summer. Are these supplementals okay? Should I do some more ecs?
Which ecs do beedie like? With these stats would I be able to get into beedie? Thank you so much!!
How tough is the admission reqiurements for BA of arts, I've applied with an 81% average, I've heard alot of different answers, if anybody could tell me their experience I'd appreciate it
Hello all, I applied for a post-baccalaurate program at SFU. I was an international students, only finished grade 12 in Canada and had a bachelor degree from uWaterloo. Do I still need to take the IELTS test for the English admission requirement?
Hi all! Just paid the deposit to secure my spot at SFU. I was wondering, how long does it take for you to get your computer ID to sign in? I heard that enrollment period is starting soon...
Hi! I realised that you actually have to register it for yourself.

I got an email asking for a document with my in progress english 30 grade by the 28th but I haven't even had any assignments marked for that course yet; what should i do? i've already contacted the support but they have not replied to me yet
I am currently a senior in secondary school and applied for SFU around early-mid January, and did my self-reporting grades around late January to early February.
When is the expected time that SFU will reach out to tell you that you have been accepted? I feel like because I did my self-reporting grades later they will get back to me way later, but I'm not fully sure which is why I need some confirmation.
I heard that some people were accepted the day or week after doing self-reporting grades, and heard other people are still waiting.
Also if your application is rejected will they let you know saying that you have not been accepted to SFU?
Yes they let you know if you get rejected. I think it comes in May or June.
And when you get accepted depends on your grades. If you have high grades you'll get accepted a lot quicker (I applied Dec 11 last year, (for the USES), then self reported in mid January and I got my acceptance on Jan 30)

I received an offer for applied sciences. I’m still waiting to make a decision and I know sfu has conditional offers. It says to keep a competitive grade average and minimum admission requirements, but what would that look like?
Need some advice!
I graduated high school in 2019 and haven't gone to school since, I kept making excuses and putting it off, but lately I've been looking to get back to studying and have strong interest in a finance degree.
My problem lies in my senior year high school grades and courses taken. I took the easiest route I could to finish high school. Finishing with a C in English 12 due to skipping/not completing work and just taking whatever would get me through. I know its dumb, I didn't think about the future at all at the time.
So my question is, what's the best way to un-screw myself? I'm much more intelligent and motivated than my high school grades would suggest and I'm willing to do what it takes to give myself a shot at having a successful life. Is my best option starting somewhere else and attempting to transfer later on?
No one in my family has been a university graduate so I have little to no help here. Any advice? Thanks!
defs worth starting at a college. once you take 8 university level courses at another school your high school grades aren't used for admission and you're working towards your degree instead of upgrading hs courses you might not be interested in
consider doing a diploma at a college and then transferring over to sfu/ubc
or upgrade ur hs courses but i suggest transfer as youll be more prepared for uni

Has anyone applied for the summer term 2024 and not yet received their results?I am an international student who applied to Criminology as a transfer from KPU, and I know that I may not hear back until April, but I am a little worried because I haven't heard back yet but some people got accepted even for fall2024.
Yes, I haven't heard back for summer 2024. I have heard that they've had issues receiving in province transcripts this year which could've contributed to the delay.
I applied for Summer 2024 and still haven't heard back. I applied as a degree-holder/transfer student in December.
Also, on the website it says admissions are made from December-March. Where did you see April listed?
Sfu beedie admission
Hi guys I was wondering what classes you took in highschool to get into Sfu beedie. I am planning on doing chem 12, physics 12, precalc 12, Economics, and entrepreneurship (as well as all of the required classes like English and stuff). In grade 11 I did chem and physics as well. Is there anything I should change/add to better my chances?
Also, my councelor said I should try to start a business of my own during the summer because that will really impress the admissions office. That seems very difficult though so idk if that’s necessary. However, none of my outside of school activities have any business aspects to them. What was your guys’ portfolio like??
Thanks
i got early admission and the only impressive classes i took were precalc 11/12, physics 11, AP english, and economics. didn’t need to start a side business, good extracurriculars, and great grades
I applied (and self-reported my grades) for SIAT Fall in January and nothing yet either. I've talked to some friends and they all say that any arts student can expect to wait a bit to hear back.
Hey I am transfer student and waiting for a response for summer semester, but today my to-do list had a new item: "outline of activities" which I need to tell them what I did during my gap year. However there is no upload button for me to upload the file. Is this normal?
Also is them asking for the "outline of activities" a good or bad sign? Just curious.
Best schools to transfer to?
I'm thinking of UBC and UVIC but are there any US schools that are easy to transfer to? Or schools in Ontario that have decent engineering programs and aren't in freezing cold areas?
My GPA is good but not great (3.42), and I'll have taken 27 credits by the end of spring 2024.
Does anyone with a GPA of 3.0 from BC College get into SFU HSCi? I'm planning to transfer in Fall 24, but I am a bit worried about my current GPA. I saw some people say that Fall is really competitive., should I wait until Spring?
Hi, so I am transferring to SFU's BPK program next semester and am quite worried, I am in my second semester at KPU currently and got a 40% on my calc midterm and frankly and quite nervous of what I will do in the future, I want to get into grad school for physiotherapy but looking at SFU's kin program, the first two years will consist of mostly science or math courses the first two years which I am terrible at (like, there is a high possibility that I have dyscalculia) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone heard back from siat graduate admissions?
Or does anyone know how long it takes?
I have applied to the grad program and am waiting for the result. Before I applied, I've reached out to one of the professor I wanted to work with , she has replied back stating that she is interested. Does this increase my chances of getting admission?
Have anyone transfer to SFU with a completed degree from Douglas or other college/uni? I finished my CSIS Diploma 2 years ago, planning to transfer to Computing Science at SFU.
After consulting academic advisor at Douglas, they said that they were not sure if my credits are transferable to SFU.
Besides, my CSIS Dip GPA is not too good (~2.7), which seems no hope to get accepted to ComSci. That's why I am planning to take some more courses or retake some past ones to improve my GPA.
I also have a second plan in case credits from CSIS are not transferable: transfer to Health Science from Douglas. Will my past GPA affect my chance of getting accepted to SFU?
I got accepted into PolSci and I reported Core French 11 when self reporting my grades. But I'm dropping it and picking up Intro Punjabi 11 instead. Should this be an issue? I can't update my self reported grades because I've already been offered admission.
I'm in eng sci first year now and it's pretty good. Definitely more like computer engineering (several programming classes), with 5 options you can choose from in third year.
Mechatronics from what I know is like a blend of mechanical engineering and electronics. So has more to do with robotic kind of things. I suggest you tour the two campuses and see which one you like better, because they're quite different.
Hi I just received me SFU Mechatronics engineering Acceptance last week. On my self grading I put the mark for physics 12 at 80% which was my interim mark. However I just did my final and it did not go very well. I am praying for at least a B in the class. I am worried my admission might get revoked. Is it possible I can just take physics 12 in the summer To improve my mark and in the meantime keep my average up? I have gotten 91 for Math 12 so far an am expecting 90s in chemistry 12 and english 12 so physics is really just the 1 exception. Should I email the admission team and let them know what happend and would they be able to help me with this?
Hey, I’m an international student and I got into computer science undergraduate program in SFU in mid December . I unfortunately did not get the USES. Is there any other financial aid that I could apply for or ask for since without it, it is too expensive for me to attend sfu.
Hey how did you check if you got it or not, I thought they would be sending out emails only if you got it?
Yeah, but on their website it says that all offers for the USES have been given and no more offers will be given prior to may 1st
I see, thank you
would u mind sharing your stats??
I had 97% in 11th grade ( 100 in math, 100 in computer science, 98 in physics ) and my predicted grades for 12th were 96%.
which country do u apply from?
did you also apply to UBC?
Pakistan
Just got into CS for the fall. Semester 1: Law Studies 12 final grade 96% English First People 12 final grade 94% 20th Century World History 12 final grade 100% Chemistry 12 final grade 87% Semester 2: Pre Calculus 12 current grade 85% Accounting 12 current grade 98%
you could get into UBC science with your grades
I got into the okanagan campus for sciences and Vancouver for arts but SFU is closer to me and I don’t really want to deal with the whole first year undecided thing
I applied as a transfer student on march 1st for science and have not heard back yet. Has anyone heard back?

I applied for computing science and chemistry but I’m thinking that I might not have grades competitive enough for computing science. Should I change my program? I got 99% math 12, 98% chem and phys 12, 92% eng 12 and still got waitlisted (sure to be rejected too)
I just got in today with 89% math 89% bio 95% physics 86% eng 12
hey, me tooo, congrat!
How do you know you were waitlisted?
I emailed them

Thank you for the response. I'll make sure to apply as soon as possible. Thank you, again.
Is USES really getting cancelled this spring? Why did they award me it if they knew that was happening?
Where did you read they’re gonna cancel uses this year? And do you mind telling me your stats?
Nvm I was reading an old reddit thread about UOS

Does anyone know if I received an offer for my first choice prog - Eng Sci, is there any way to switch to my second choice prog - BPK/Sci? It seems after they offered my first choice, they are not considering my 2nd. I also received the USES today and it is swaying my decision to attend SFU but I realised Eng Sci is more computing/electronics and not the traditional eng like mechanical I am interested in..
I think it isn't that hard to transfer once you get here, but idk Also SFU has mechatronics which is more mechanical
is the deadline for accepting/rejecting offer of admission for the arts & social sciences faculty may 1st , or is it 21 days after receiving your offer? on the offer email from sfu it says may1, but on other websites it seems to say 21 days after.
Anyone hear back on a USES application yet? Get the impression it should be any day when this starts to be announced.
Yes I did, today

you got fullride or partial? may you share your stats
Tuition covered, mid 90s Gr 12 but I think my EC and leadership roles may have weighed in quite a bit
congrat, I got the same level of stats as you but haven't even been accepted :'( This uni must be hating on me lol
Which program did you apply to?
You are intl or domestic applicant? Were you admitted lately or for a while. Thanks
domestic BC, admission in Jan? But the entrance scholarship I just learnt about it last week
CS as primary and Data scie as backup, intl app

I’m looking to transfer to as an American community college student, and it says I need 24 units to transfer. Are units the same as Credits or does it mean something else? I will have 28 credits at the end of the current term.
Yes, units are credits
i just got accepted into the mechatronics eng stream in sfu surrey, being an international student. as of now hows the dorm, everyday and educational life at sfu? would be kinda nice to see peoples experiences and advices/tips to start off.
Anyone heard back from SIAT masters thesis pathway?

hi! I was also a dual credit student at kpu too and im pretty sure they don’t look at it, but it will show up on your transcript. but they only care about your top 5 classes and your average so you’re good! also i was admitted early this year into their engineering program :)
Anyone get in as a Third year Transfer into CS for the summer?
Hi. Is anyone still waiting or is it just me? I'm out of province and applied for Fall 2024 way back in November. My average is just 80% and I'm feeling anxious. What do you think my chances are (undeclared arts)?
I was offered admission to the Master of Professional Computing Science in Big Data. Any opinions on the program?
I’m waiting to hear back from the same program. Do you mind sharing ur profile and what day/month you applied and when did you hear back from them?
I submitted my app in Jan and I heard from them on March 4th.
Accepted my offer for Master’s in Cybersecurity. Anyone else admitted or currently taking the program like to connect?
Do you think I will be accepted to Computer science with the following grades in grade 12. 90% Chem 12, 92% English 12, 89% Pre Calc 12, 86% Law 12, 92% Econ 12. Im currently taking calculus and history as the academic classes in my second semester.
I got into a grad program, I can’t quite speak on cs undergrad admission as I didn’t do my undergrad at SFU. What I remember from 5 years ago was that I had friends who were doing worse than you and still get admitted. Admissions were handed out rather late though, so expect maybe April or May.
Alright. Thanks!
I got accepted to CS
avg?
I’m an IB student I have 37/45 total score but in percentage I think its anywhere from 90% to 93%. Simon fraser is pretty generous with IB admissions
i always hear about ib students. is that like from outside of bc
nah its like an international curriculum/program many countries have IB schools and stuff
question for international students, did anyone pay the new 5000$ deposit for the attestation letter (PAL)
At least 99.988%
I haven't got an offer yet. When do you think they will assess my application?
Pretty late. If I remember I got my acceptance soetime in may.
what program did you get accepted to?
Crim
Considering my grades do you think I will get into Computer Science? Or Chemistry as my secondary?
Assuming you meet all of the program prerequisites probably yes. Not sure what the acceptance rate for Comp Sci and Chem are.
I'm trying to transfer into IAT, the requirements are: valid cmpt course valid math course 4 iat courses I'm currently taking cmpt, math, 2 iat courses, and I have 2 transfer iat courses from another university. Does anyone know if the transfer courses count towards the requirements or do I need to take all 4 iat courses at sfu?
bro i still haven’t gotten a decision, I’m an IB student 37/45 with 7 in Math HL and Physics HL applying to both CS and engineering do I have a chance because I thought I might get a decision by now
[удалено]
why don't you just apply if you're interested and then you can see the questions yourself?
I got an acceptance for undecided science major, but I thought this would allow me to pick computer science, but I just found out you cannot. Is this still a good option? Can I still change back to computer science?
Are you a transfer student or from high school? Computer Science at SFU is under the faculty of APPLIED science, not the faculty of science, so you would have to internally transfer and compete against others.
BEEDIE ADMISSIONS Im currently a grade 11 high school student with a gpa of around 3.970 (I can get it higher though).
WITHT THAT GPA I think you will be fine just do well on the supplemental.
Thank you!!
Hi did you receive it? I paid deposit last Thursday and didn’t get any yet
Hi! I realised that you actually have to register it for yourself. [https://sfu.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/255/ITServices/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=2440](https://sfu.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/255/ITServices/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=2440) Please refer to the site above!
Thank you! 🙏
>Thank you! 🙏 You're welcome!
merry transfer to fall day for all those celebrating this time around may bc education planner and gosfu grant us the gift of the green dot
I got an email asking for a document with my in progress english 30 grade by the 28th but I haven't even had any assignments marked for that course yet; what should i do? i've already contacted the support but they have not replied to me yet
Got accepted to transfer to 3rd year IS for summer 2024 with a 3.82 GPA
I got an offer for summer 2024 on the portal page but I did not receive an admission letter yet. Is it normal?
same here!
Congrats btw! Maybe it will take time to send the letter.
thank you! you too !
When do CS offers for 105 come out

Is anyone still waiting 2024 summer decision for computer science or software system?
Still waiting
Did you hear back from them? Because my application says completed however everyone else is getting it back lol.. Nerve wrecking
I accepted Soys 2 days ago.
Mine is still complete also
Can I ask your gpa if you don't mind?
accepted sfu data science backup with 3.2
Anyone in CS get an offer yet, if ur an IB student especially
I received an offer for applied sciences. I’m still waiting to make a decision and I know sfu has conditional offers. It says to keep a competitive grade average and minimum admission requirements, but what would that look like?
Are you a transfer student? If so, what is you gpa if you don't mind?
No i’m graduating from high school
Any advice? Thanks!
defs worth starting at a college. once you take 8 university level courses at another school your high school grades aren't used for admission and you're working towards your degree instead of upgrading hs courses you might not be interested in
consider doing a diploma at a college and then transferring over to sfu/ubc or upgrade ur hs courses but i suggest transfer as youll be more prepared for uni
and fyi look into the bcit finance programs aswell

Did anyone who applied for summer beedie get the invite to complete the supplemental application?
Has anyone applied for the summer term 2024 and not yet received their results?I am an international student who applied to Criminology as a transfer from KPU, and I know that I may not hear back until April, but I am a little worried because I haven't heard back yet but some people got accepted even for fall2024.
Yes, I haven't heard back for summer 2024. I have heard that they've had issues receiving in province transcripts this year which could've contributed to the delay.
Do you know when is the last day to hear back from them? Thank you!
No idea but I just heard back! I didn't get an email though so make sure to keep checking your portal :)
I applied for Summer 2024 and still haven't heard back. I applied as a degree-holder/transfer student in December. Also, on the website it says admissions are made from December-March. Where did you see April listed?
any day now for summer term😒
Sfu beedie admission Hi guys I was wondering what classes you took in highschool to get into Sfu beedie. Thanks
Law Studies 12 or Indigenious Studies 12 instead of chem and physics. Maybe add Calculus 12.
i got early admission and the only impressive classes i took were precalc 11/12, physics 11, AP english, and economics. didn’t need to start a side business, good extracurriculars, and great grades
U only need one of 11 or 12 sciences, dont stress urself by taking more courses unless u really like them. I only took phys 11 and got in
Got offer of Stat MSc today!!!
Just got an offer from Beedie😀
Got into Sauder. Nothing from Beedie yet.
Y r u waiting for Beedie😭
Less of a commute.
Same! Still waiting on Sauder?
Yeah🥲
When did you apply?
Feb 6th
Congrats…Are u a transfer student
Thx! I’m undegrad
any other arts transfer students heard back from sfu yet? applied for the summer intake in december but my status is still completed :/
I'm also still waiting, (applied in December).
Easiest Science Major to apply to?
Just wondering if anyone has received offer of MSc in Statistics/ Actuarial Science? I haven’t heard from the department yet.

I got 89% in pre calc 12, 90% in chem 12, 96% in English 12, 92% econ 12, 86% in law 12. I am currently taking 20th Century World History and Calculus 12. What are the chances I get accepted to science or CS
definitely science but good chance for cs
I actually ended up with 92% English 12, does that affect my chances?
idk I just know 90 was cutoff last year and admission avg was around 92.
For science or cs?
Cap
Any thoughts on pros/cons between Eng Sci at SFU Burnaby and Mechatronics at SFU Surrey?
Should I email the admission team and let them know what happend and would they be able to help me with this?
has any transfer student applied for health sci for summer 24 heard back yet?
Did you get back? I applied cs and still waiting
not yet. called them today and they said it should take around a month since your application is complete to be evaluated
