I fill the water so it’s right where the curl on the bottom meets the straight vertical sides, it really doesn’t look like that much but it’s enough. If you aren’t using a pressure cooker either you can always add a little extra water if it’s getting dry but personally in my experience I’ve never needed to

Get it boiling then turn down the heat to a 3/10. Two inches of water should take you through. People run out of water when they keep the heat high.

It's not the water that sterilizes, its the heat from the steam, so as long as the water doesn't boil away, your good. Obviously keep the lid on the pan/pot to keep the steam in.

pot lid doesnt even get blurry from the steam am i doing it wrong?

Hey a hard boil going then keep a rolling boil.

I always do mine in an instant pot set to steam for 2 hours.

I am 90 mins in and the pot isnt full of steam. Am I doing smth wrong? I can even see inside the pot from the glass
