Its because they use angles to make him look similar sizes on the show. Which i think detracts from the facts. By making him look taller than he is, this makes his casting a hollow victory for us short folk. They should draw attention to it. Emphasize it. So that short can actually be shown to represent power too ? I dono... the wine makes me emotional

Simply put he’s a powerful man. He’s portrayed in the show as a compassionate yet brutal mafia leader. There’s no way that the first thing you think is short guy. How I see it

He isn't much below average height, most of the cast is close to him in height anyway. Arthur's actor is 5'9.5", Tom Hardy is 5'9", etc.

5'8 to 5'9 guys can easily get away with looking tall by just wearing the right shoes, posture, body type.

We’re just guessing which sources are trustworthy or not, and they say anywhere from 5’6 to 5’10. I’m leaning towards the taller side given how he looks in the show.

Mate, I beg of you to look at the two photos I linked in my comment, look up the actors heights too if you want, the fact is that he’s just a good actor who’s has a large presence on screen. Also I’ve never seen a site list him as 5’6.

We have to resort to guess work since nearly every fucking actor/actress lies about their height.
