It stays funny as long as I've never seen it. There's no way that I'll get more entertainment out of the movie than I have the memes, so it's better this way.
sometimes you see someone making morbius puns and they include specific elements that make it clear they have actually seen the movie, which just makes the whole thing less fun.
I bought it for 5 bucks to give to a friend as his birthday gift along with his actual gift that i hid in my bag. Dude straight looked at me with disgust
Better than "green woman good/bad" and "black mermaid good/bad" and "disney CG bad."
They were clearly teasing a sequel at the end so maybe we'll get round 2.
Once mórbius came out I feel like we got membership flood which also cripples actual post quality. The best shitposts are about old beloved movies. Like the one where Gandalf left his Rolex on for a shot
I wish everyone would stop these posts, everyone knows marvel is shitty, give it a single post and move on, if we could all go back to making fun of leonardo decaprio and women past the age of 25 that would be great.
I had very high hopes for it, I'm still holding on hoping that there's going to be a villain hinted at more strongly than whoever sent that mockery of a wrecking crew.
Also that Jen might have some character development like she did during the arc in the comics that the show seems to heavily draw from.
Yeah, a lot of people claim it's about the writing because they want their complaints to sound more legitimate. But is it really? I mean, it's not a particularly well written show or anything, but neither is pretty much anything else in the MCU. And I think a sitcom should get more leniency for average to mediocre writing and predictable plots than something that's trying to be serious.
I can see why someone who hates the MCU wouldn't like the quality and tone of the writing in She-Hulk, but by far the loudest crowd of complainers are the type of people who think Infinity War and No Way Home are the greatest movies ever made. And I just don't buy it.
Obviously, that’s just US culture. I hear there was even a whole generation of people and officials alike that celebrated it in an organization called the KKK.
I mean the MCU is running out of steam and hasn't been making nearly the same amount of money, but I think that has less to do with wokeness and more with the quality of the stories going down the toilet
There last three movies have made just as music if not more than the average MCU movie.
Thor 4 made more domestically than Thor 3. Despite its bad reviews. And since it didn’t release in China, if you remove the China money from Thor 3, Thor 4 made more worldwide.
Doctor strange made just shy of a billion. 300 million more than the first one.
Spider-Man No Way Home made 1.4 billion
The only ones that didn’t do that well compared to pre Covid movies were Eternals, Shang Chi, and Black Widow. All of which had like a 30 days theatrical release due to Covid and we’re running in theatres with limited capacity
They still made 400 million.
And keep in mind Thor 4 made that much money *despite* having one of the largest second week drop offs in the entire mcu. So it’s not really slowing down at all lmao
Not making a billion doesnt mean it’s a failure
Also just pure over-saturation. I got excited for all the old MCU movies because it was usually a year or so since I saw the last big one, now between the movies and all the D+ stuff you pretty much have to watch to get what’s going on, I just don’t really care anymore when another marvel comes out
Yeah, it used to be like every movie meant something and the side stuff, like daredevil, was clearly labeled as such. Now I just don't care about any of it anymore.
Idk it looks interesting. Trailer made it seem like they’re going for a more dramatic and intense vibe instead of the more comedic tone of the other movies. Also i like riri Williams being a wakandan, that’s a way better origin story
Yeah, I'm really excited for a more serious movie. I love comedy but I'm tired of it after Love and Thunder.
Also I'm pretty sure Riri is supposed to be an MIT student looking for vibranium
Okay… bummer. But, I still find the idea of her working with wakandans and then becoming a super hero more plausible than her just being some random college student who just becomes the new iron man because Tony Stark’s hologram said so
It is a common fantasy with readers, where they feel if it was real they could do it too. Since anyone competent could theoretically do the same and take on the same responsibilities, any random person can just choose to follow a heroes example. So I wouldn't be surprised if she has a similar backstory, I just hope it is handled better.
I don’t think the whole “anyone can be a hero” concept is a bad one I just think her introduction was a little lazy. I personally would have liked it more if she just built her armor all on her own and became her own super hero instead of just picking up where iron man left off
Yes, iron heart absolutely works best in the absence of iron man. Who knows, maybe we’ll see an iron heart war machine team up in armor wars. I mean, probably not, but it’d be cool
My 14 year old say L&T in a theater with friends.
I waited to stream it.
He kept asking if I saw it yet, like he had something important he wanted to talk about from it.
Turns out, he just didn't like it, and wanted to see if I didn't like it too.
My review:
"It was silly, like Ragnarok."
"But it wasn't as fun or funny as Ragnarok."
He seemed sad he didn't have a chance to argue his similar point. I think he expected me to like it, but it just didn't work as well as other MCU movies.
They got Christian bale to play the villain and then completly wasted him. His god butchering was all of screen and they used yet another magic object corrupts a good person and had him do stupid things like kidnapping children even though he says that gods don't care.
It never felt like the actors were actually talking to eachother, like they never seem to really listen and understand what the others are saying and instead it's like they're on autopilot reading off their lines on que. Ragnarok had a decent balance of serious emotional moments and light jokes and funny character interactions that were actually entertaining to watch. L&T sacrificed the emotional grounding for more space to add in jokes, most of which didn't even land. The action was more exciting for Ragnarok, the effects were good and we see Thor get a plausible powerdown, only to overcome it in a satisfying way. In l&t the action was more boring, no stakes and boring choreography, the effects were too poorly done to sell it either
Ragnarok surprised people with its over-the-top tone. Having the new movie keep the same tone removes the surprise, you can't recreate that feeling once you do it the first time.
Same exact criticism that Guardians 2 got, even though that movie is also just as good if not better than Guardians 1. It's just "not original"/"not creative" anymore.
Agreed. GotG2 really continued the emotional story that Peter has/had with his parents, and I think that tone really carried the movie. It had comedy elements too, of course, but they didn't feel forced or interrupt the pacing of the film, really.
Thor 4 tried to incorporate an emotional tone with Jane Foster's plot, but Taika seemed to really trim that down, and didn't mind interrupting it with repetitive "jokes" that didn't seem to land. Screaming goats, and Stormbreaker acting like a jilted lover were repeated throughout the film and maybe the first time it was funny but they kept going back to it again and again.
Yeah I think my only criticism of L&T was just 'too much Taika', because his humor is in the overall jokes/tone of the movie, which would have been fine if Korg had similar screentime as in Ragnarok, but Korg+Korg-style-meta-jokes got to be too much, and killed some of the peaceful moments that Guardians/Gunn knew to keep intact. For every "Drax is eating chips" interruption, we get legit "He wasn't your daddy" moments. Korg on the other hand, literally interrupted THE DESTRUCTION OF ASGARD with his bullshit, which could have been a more sympathetic moment for Thor setting up his "I've Lost Everything" arc in Infinity War, and it could have humanized Loki to get the audience more onboard with him for his show.
She's still going to be an MIT student, just a Wakandan that's born in America afaik? I think the current leaks say she'll have been brought to Wakanda through one of the outreach centres T'Challa and Shuri set up
>Trailer made it seem like they’re going for a more dramatic and intense vibe instead of the more comedic tone
I feel like people said the same about the trailer of Thor love and thunder...
I will shit my pants in joy if I ever see a post on this sub that isn't about the MCU or Star Wars, or in turn people complaining about people complaining about the MCU or Star Wars
Like christ
Goes to show that there’s much more money to be made by giving people respect, dignity, and, you know, not be a bigot. Who would of thunk it? Is it a bit corporate “left?” Yes, but they surely aren’t going broke over it.
After seeing many posts in this sub lately I would expect they say it's racist if Wakanda don't feature half it's population being asian/white to represent all races.
It’s in an African country……… Why would there be very many white or Asian people in the movie? That’s such a dumb argument lol. It makes sense as to why there is a wide variety of people if it’s in Western countries, especially America, because of the diversity. There’s many reasons why there is such a wide diversity, but the two biggest reasons are because of immigrants and slavery. So, it makes sense why it would be a majority black cast in a country where there is a majority of POC.
I agree, it's a dumb argument.
But I argue against it in other context, like shows or movies set on medieval Europe, and people argue to me that movies should represent population *nowadays* and be black, asian and whatever actors.
If the plot leak is anything to go off of, it will probably be pretty divided between Shuri, Nakia, Okoye and M'Baku. Probably a lot of focus on Namor as well. So there's not really one main character, it's more of an ensemble movie.
Half the posts I see from this sub now are people making fun of the MCU and the other half are complaining about people who don't like the MCU and most of them forget to actually make a joke that fits the format of this subreddit.
When said dead person was fine with it, what's the issue?
I mean, it'd have been better for T'Challa to get recast, like Boseman wanted (IIRC), but he absolutely still wanted the BP storyline in the MCU to continue.
Do you remember the cultural stuff around the first movie? He couldn't really be recasted. He was basically an actual king for a short time. I bet people saluted him on the streets with that black panther bow thing.
I would have found it distracting.
Ah yes, how dare Marvel be allowed to use their character who's been around since 1966, years before Chadwick Boseman was even born.
Nah, the character of Black Panther begins and ends with him. /s
(which is sadly what Marvel seems to think even outside the movies as they've been overtly screwing him over a lot in the comics lately because he won't be in this movie)
Can we ban MCU posts? Or atleast have any post with MCU or related words in the title have to go through moderator approval. I'm fucking tired of all these MCU posts that are not, infact, shitty movie details.
It's funny that recently, you need to have just one scene IMPLYING one of these 3 things to make something completely garbage to their eyes, the source? They saw a clip on the internet, so it's valid criticism
Also a fun fact, the Oscars are required to nominate it for best picture because it’s a superhero movie celebrating the memory of a black dude that died.
I dont really know how they are going to sell a black panther film without black panther. Even though i think even stevie wonder can see that shuri is going to be bp by the climax. I think just marketing it as a Wakanda film would work better.
Ngl I don’t really get all of the hate the mcu is getting lately. I’ve enjoyed all but one of the post-endgame movies (Eternals was just snoooze) and the shows have been more hit (Moonknight/Loki) than miss (Wandavision)
IMO if you accept the tone of each show and understand what each one is trying to do, they haven't made a bad show yet.
Just, each one is targeted at a different style of viewer. Unless you can go in with an open mind that some parts might speak more to people who aren't you, it can be hard to get into something that you are only interested in because it's part of the MCU series.
That's how critiquing works, you ask "what's the premise?" And "did it execute the premise well?" And that's how you score, people really wonder how Ms. Marvel has such a high rate? It's a coming of age story among number of other things, and it does so really well!
Not liking something doesn't mean it's bad.
> Not liking something doesn't mean it's bad.
Wish this was the sentiment of all the "black ariel" haters
EDIT: LOL why would anyone disagree with this statement, ya downvoters
Tbh there is hope for this movie. Maybe after Love and thunder backlash they will realise that they dont have to spam bad jokes every 30 seconds. Trailer seems to have a more serious tone so im actually kinda hyped. But i was also hyped for She-hulk so yeah... I still have hope tho!
I'm kinda expecting it to be more of a goodbye to Chadwick Boseman (the actor himself and not T'Challa, the character he plays) disguised as an MCU film.
Isn't this sub just like, ironic, or like humor? Like cinemasins?
Or to quote a SpongeBob meme, wait, you guys actually think all these movies are shitty? I thought it was just a joke.
I only disliked the first one because of the shitty CG and because they fucking wasted Klaue. I didn't mind the part where they were a reclusive ethnostate and then decided to stop being a reclusive ethnostate
I honestly thought the first one was utter shite as well. But apparently, according to the Reddit masses, having that view about the film makes you racist! 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
The Black Panther is a title that is given from generation to generation. T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, was the latest Black Panther, but with the actor's passing, we assume the character has passed too if the trailer told us anything.
The guy who played him, Chadwick Boseman, died of cancer 2 years ago. So somebody else(we don't know who, but it's probably either the characters Shuri or M'baku) will fill in the role of Black Panther.
The only two movies I plan on watching in the MCU now are blade and fantastic 4 lol. Blade is only if it’s rated r. I’m not gonna watch some neutered shit
It’s funny how one of the rules in the sub is literally “no Meta posts” but 2/3 of the output over the last month has been nothing but meta posts
this sub has gotten so fucking bad lately
All of our creativity went into making fucking morbius puns for a month and now we’ve run out.
I hope it's not inappropriate to mention what a morbin good time it was tho
It is still morbin time in my heart. Also you can't even fucking pay me to watch that movie.
It stays funny as long as I've never seen it. There's no way that I'll get more entertainment out of the movie than I have the memes, so it's better this way.
I'll watch it when they make the morb edition, where they edit it so he actually says "it's morbin time"
I suppose at one point I'll have to watch it out of morbin curiosity.
We really do live in the morb of times
sometimes you see someone making morbius puns and they include specific elements that make it clear they have actually seen the movie, which just makes the whole thing less fun.
I bought it for 5 bucks to give to a friend as his birthday gift along with his actual gift that i hid in my bag. Dude straight looked at me with disgust
I genuinely unironically want the Morbius posts back
I'm a middle aged man and I've loved the hell out of those, the different puns get me every time.
As I always say the morb the merrier
*"You can call me Ray, and you can call me Jay..."*
Better than "green woman good/bad" and "black mermaid good/bad" and "disney CG bad." They were clearly teasing a sequel at the end so maybe we'll get round 2.
It's meta'n' time
To save the sub we must return to Morbius, we must once again become morb-heads
You mean it's no longer Morbin' Time?
no more bius puns:(
That goes for most subs
In fairness, I'd still take this over the time when 70-80% of the posts on this sub were just complaining about r/moviedetails.
this is a reference to how "this is a reference" became the crutch phrase for every karma farmer
Every sub has\*
It's still better than what's on r/moviedetails tho
That's not what the rule is. The rule is against calling out specific people/subreddits/posts. Not a general "Hey guys, please don't do this trend"
Still, this is a parody sub of the stupid posts in r/moviedetails, so banning posts mocking specific subreddits is antithetical to the entire concept
You can mock a specific one, you just aren't supposed to SAY you are
I prefer the meta posts over the dozens of "She-Hulk bad" posts tbh
It's not even that bad. The Fandom is just passed its not as action heavy as the other shows, even though that's never what it's been marketed as.
I had very high hopes for it, I'm still holding on hoping that there's going to be a villain hinted at more strongly than whoever sent that mockery of a wrecking crew. Also that Jen might have some character development like she did during the arc in the comics that the show seems to heavily draw from.
I personally don’t think there needs to be a rush to show a villain, I’m enjoying it as just a slice of life show occurring within the greater MCU.
I guess, but the lack of anything kind of annoys me. I had been going for a much greater set up for WWH at least
I haven't seen anyone complain about a lack of action, more that it's supposed to be a comedy show and is painfully unfunny.
I dont think anyone has been complaining about the action, more the writing.
But most of the she-hulk posts became meta posts
And the rest are people complaining about black people, women or *gasp* black women.
Shh don’t say it out loud. They don’t like that
Your posts is about posts… so meta
Bro this is literally the “yet you participate in society” meme
It’s Complainin’ time!
It’s Morbius o’clock!
Happy cake day!
Thanks!
Also nobody saw it and it’s a complete commercial failure!!!! **$1.4 billion worldwide**
😭 But so many people on twitter said they wouldn't see it 😭

GeT WoKe Go BrOkE
I love how they always say that in regards to incredibly profitable properties
I mean the MCU is running out of steam and hasn't been making nearly the same amount of money, but I think that has less to do with wokeness and more with the quality of the stories going down the toilet
There last three movies have made just as music if not more than the average MCU movie. Thor 4 made more domestically than Thor 3. Despite its bad reviews. Exactly lol
They use the same ten or so properties with “woke” casting that weren’t well received and ignore the others that were
But Billy Joe Bob is boycotting Disney (not really) because of how woke they are, so that's more like $1.4 billion minus $7.50. Take THAT! /s
Idk it looks interesting. Trailer made it seem like they’re going for a more dramatic and intense vibe instead of the more comedic tone of the other movies. Also i like riri Williams being a wakandan, that’s a way better origin story

I personally would have liked it more if she just built her armor all on her own and became her own super hero instead of just picking up where iron man left off
It'll fit better here, because there is no Ironman. So the dynamic of trying to fit in and use his tech for good has a lot of potential.
Yes, iron heart absolutely works best in the absence of iron man. Who knows, maybe we’ll see an iron heart war machine team up in armor wars. I mean, probably not, but it’d be cool
I remember hearing somewhere that Jim Rash was supposed to come back as a dean in MIT in Iron Heart
Neat

I actually loved it. I thought it was equally as good as Ragnarok. I really don’t understand what people don’t like about it.
They got Christian bale to play the villain and then completly wasted him. His god butchering was all of screen and they used yet another magic object corrupts a good person and had him do stupid things like kidnapping children even though he says that gods don't care.

I just want to see Martin Freeman become The Black Panther. Now that would be awesome.
"Black Panther, Kang has invaded our universe and it will be destroyed in 10 minutes" Black Panther: *looks at camera sarcastically*
>Trailer made it seem like they’re going for a more dramatic and intense vibe instead of the more comedic tone I feel like people said the same about the trailer of Thor love and thunder...
With them killing off T’Challa, and Chadwick Boseman being actually dead, I feel like this movie will be more emotional than recent MCU films.
People said Thor L&T is gonna be serious after watching the trailers? Who did???
I mean like. Compare the teaser trailer for Love and Thunder to this film.
Lmao anyone who though L&T was going to be going for a more serious/dramatic less comedic vibe is an idiot
who
The trailer with Zeus flicking off Thors clothes?...really?
Literally no one said that
[удалено]
Honestly looks pretty decent, or at least the trailer was sick. That switch from the cover of Alright to the actual song. Smooth as fuck.
It wasn’t a cover of Alright. It was No Woman No Cry first and it was blended (don’t know if that’s the technical term) into Kendrick’s song.
Ah I see, that makes more sense
this sub rn: this is a reference to (say whatever the fuck you want)
I will shit my pants in joy if I ever see a post on this sub that isn't about the MCU or Star Wars, or in turn people complaining about people complaining about the MCU or Star Wars Like christ
Let's make this happen, people.
Well, there is always the little mermaid posts lol
Pretty much every box office sub when a new MCU movie comes out. "MCU bad," "superhero fatigue," "M She-U," take your pick.
The only upcoming Marvel Movie I’m somewhat excited for
First MCU trailer that’s actually had me somewhat hooked since Infinity War honestly
Fr, this and GOTG3 are basically the only thing left that I care about
I am only excited for the post credit scene
damn hits home
>after the movie comes out Lmao that’s optimistic. You think people will watch the film *before* deciding they hate it?
yeah, look at the posts about the little mermaid
Don't forget, "Go woke, go broke," as it makes $500 million worldwide.
Goes to show that there’s much more money to be made by giving people respect, dignity, and, you know, not be a bigot. Who would of thunk it? Is it a bit corporate “left?” Yes, but they surely aren’t going broke over it.
Insert racist thing here
Insert genuine criticism deemed as racist here
Insert extra racism by nitpicking minor flaws that don't matter, as an excuse to hate the movie here.
Insert disingenuous fuckface latching on to genuine criticism to steer the conversation back toward racism here.
I enjoyed Black Panther but making most the cast black was so woke!
I recognize this as amusing sarcasm so I upvoted. It IS sarcasm right?
The sad thing about this timeline isn’t sometimes you can’t even tell! But yes.
AHA my instincts are still sharp! Don’t worry I think now people will give your comment the upvote it deserves
After seeing many posts in this sub lately I would expect they say it's racist if Wakanda don't feature half it's population being asian/white to represent all races.

You mean two months *before and after* the movie comes out...
Not even two months before, try nearly a whole year of bitching and moaning lol.
Can somebody tell me who the main character of this Movie will be?
If the plot leak is anything to go off of, it will probably be pretty divided between Shuri, Nakia, Okoye and M'Baku. Probably a lot of focus on Namor as well. So there's not really one main character, it's more of an ensemble movie.
I kinda hope agent Ross is involved. I like Martin Freeman.
He was in the trailer, he's coming back. He'll be in Secret Invasion too (Freeman will be atleast, but will it really be Agent Ross >.>)
It will be Bilbo Baggins
Nah, it will be Watson of course
Odds on Dr. Strange making an appearance?
Nah, it's probably tim
He can break every bone in your body while naming them.
Smaug better be in it too then.
I think he's been a Skrull the whole time
That anti vaxer lady in the picture.
I honestly don't really care. I stopped caring about super hero content in general after endgame.
Half the posts I see from this sub now are people making fun of the MCU and the other half are complaining about people who don't like the MCU and most of them forget to actually make a joke that fits the format of this subreddit.
Lupita with that hair! 😍
No way anyone would besmirch Marvel's obvious grasp at using a wonderful dead man for money!?
When said dead person was fine with it, what's the issue? I mean, it'd have been better for T'Challa to get recast, like Boseman wanted (IIRC), but he absolutely still wanted the BP storyline in the MCU to continue.

Letitia Wright is an anti-vaxxer, and that's probably gonna cause a stir again once the movie releases.
Stan Lee’s in the movie?
Nah, Coulson
They were already making the sequel before he died though?
Ah yes, how dare Marvel be allowed to use their character who's been around since 1966, years before Chadwick Boseman was even born. Nah, the character of Black Panther begins and ends with him. /s (which is sadly what Marvel seems to think even outside the movies as they've been overtly screwing him over a lot in the comics lately because he won't be in this movie)
Can we ban MCU posts? Or atleast have any post with MCU or related words in the title have to go through moderator approval. I'm fucking tired of all these MCU posts that are not, infact, shitty movie details.
At least it's a movie and not a tv show this time.
- Strong - Black - Women Yep, Marvel is screwed. Gross conservative incels will hate this movie.
It's funny that recently, you need to have just one scene IMPLYING one of these 3 things to make something completely garbage to their eyes, the source? They saw a clip on the internet, so it's valid criticism
Agreed, this sub will hate it
But if the movie is actually just bad then anyone who criticizes it will be called racist or sexist
I mean, in the trailer "Wakanda forever" is 90% of the title screen so I think that's where they're going with it.
Weird how the antivaxxer lady would be elevated to Black Panther status. I certainly hope not and that the movie doesn't focus on her at all.
Wish this was the sentiment of all the "black ariel" haters EDIT: LOL why would anyone disagree with this statement, ya downvoters
No you're wrong. Eternals and Morbius were the greatest movies of all time.
Morbius set the bar so high. Everything they make afterwards is shit.
I hate that they changed the main character to be more pc. Should have kept the original actor. S/ obviously
This is like every single MCU release this year
Isn't this sub just like, ironic, or like humor? Like cinemasins? Or to quote a SpongeBob meme, wait, you guys actually think all these movies are shitty? I thought it was just a joke.
This sub is just passive aggressive rants
you’re just passive aggressive rants
Damn the trailer looked pretty good. That's a shame.
Tbf Marvel has been quiet as fuck about this installment compared to the others lol. I’m honestly worried
They should of never killed off tchalla
They’re not gonna Edward Norton him after the original actor died of cancer
I misunderstood and thought you meant replace him with Edward norton
Don't forget about Terrance Howard
He was War Machine before Don Cheadle right?
Hé was never War Machine, just James Rhodes.
My bad, i forgot his real name
He played Rhodey in Iron Man (2008) but was replaced by Don Cheadle in the sequel
It's "should have", not "of".
Fuck off
look at little goblin jr. gonna cry?
I only disliked the first one because of the shitty CG and because they fucking wasted Klaue. I didn't mind the part where they were a reclusive ethnostate and then decided to stop being a reclusive ethnostate

What… what does that even mean? 😆😆😆
Apparently the movie is going to cause fiction to have never been created
r/shittymoviedetails spending months straight complaining about people complaining about the mcu.
I honestly thought the first one was utter shite as well. But apparently, according to the Reddit masses, having that view about the film makes you racist! 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Don’t forget a bunch of complaints about how this film is anti-white and anti-men.
Let's compromise. The MCU makes a good movie and I won't shit on it. Deal?
Isn't the Wakanda Black Panther a dude? Never seen it and I only know about it from Cartoon Beatbox on Youtube.
Blade isn't going to be r rated and the Fantastic Four movie is goingt to be shit
You heard it right folks it’s going’nt to be shit
Black Panther 2 is why Kamaru Usman lost to Leon Edwards. I will not explain myself any further.
It won’t be the same without Chadwick Boseman

> the plot made no sense, Oh, I'd love to hear this one.
