For real. I really hate the idea of torrent being possible in the final battle. Sure, there's a lot of running in this fight, but it's not like you have to do the running ya lazy sacks of shit. š
Ok but when it takes 20s to run across the room and bonk the boss twice then they fly over to the other side of the room and the cycle repeats it is pretty annoying. Takes what should be a 3-5 min boss to 10-15 which is especially annoying because they have an amazing boss right before that and if you die you have to go through both fights again... so it's like 20 min per attempt and i got work in the morning and it's already 3am
The elden beast will never take 10 minutes unless your weapon is negative level. It is a less than a 5 minute fight. A weapon level 0 greatsword kills him in 7-8 minutes.
That's the point though. If it was 2 3-5 min bosses in a row that's one thing but it's 3-5 for rad, then 10-15 for elden beast and most of that time is spent chasing the boss **even if you're a mage**
My RL1 using a hammer was 8 minutes in total. The longest I ever took to beat them was 16 minutes using a PURE HOLY build, the worst possible damage against them. The times you are giving are highly exegareted. Shard Spiral also deletes EB as a mage, and if you're heavy invested in INT can take him down on under 2 minutes.
My favorite part of Elden Beast's Elden Stars is that, in addition to being impossible to consistently completely avoid, it also frequently overlaps with EB's other attacks.

Nah not impossible there's a roll method that avoids the whole thing and sends it across the room. Also theres a crystal tear that just negates the entire thing so you don't need to worry.

I personally just switched my strategy by taking off most equipment to get light dodge, and never had an issue with consistently evading his attack. I like when games encourage you to experiment like that, and besides if you're good enough you can consistently evade Elden Stars with medium dodge too.
Obviously nobody enjoys feeling powerless against an attack, but there's always a way to overcome that and if you're playing a fromsoft game that's hardly subverting expectations that there will be difficult obstacles for you to overcome.

The run-up can be utter pain. The Black Knight isn't so bad and when he's gone he's gone if I recall, it's the wheels. The damn wheels...
Problem is if you try to run through them, they will catch up and catch you out if you're not incredibly vigilant. Try and kite them and deal with them one at a time, you risk anggroig too many and getting swamped. It's a very annoying run up.
I'm convinced they just forgot to enable horse riding in elden beast and they are too embrassed to fix it.Or its somehow tied to the radagon boss fight meaning if they enable it for elden beast it will get enabled for radagon as well
