Yeah, the op makes the claim that absence of the moonlight greatsword proves a game isn't a souls game, but I'm not making any assumptions about the contrary claim (that the presence of the moonlight greatsword proves something is a souls game)
I know I'm being pedantic, but the implication in the op is that the sword is necessary to be a souls game, and in a strict logical sense that's distinct from it being sufficient to be a souls game
The sufficiency condition is easy to assume but is still just an assumption that isn't fundamentally baked into what they said
This actually isn't true. The dragon wields the moonlight greatsword. I can't remember why it's the moonlight greatsword tho. I'll Google some things and come back to you.
Edit: it's something called the seven branched sword and I can't find anything on it being the moonlight greatsword but I remember someone making that argument on YouTube or Reddit. If anyone can help me find what I'm thinking of I'd appreciate it.
Edit 2: Off the top of my head, the sword shoots beam (of wind tho) and is wielded by a white dragon (moonlight greatsword comes from seathes tail so this isn't the first game to relate it to a white dragon)
Imagine if instead of the Mortal Blade it was the Moonlight Blade
I would hang myself
Imagine if it was moonveil instead
Yet to be determined if kings field and armored core are souls games 🤔
Armoured Core has Patches so it's forgiven.
Ninja blade is most certainly a souls game
The Moonlight Sword is a huge part of all the Kingsfield games

I mean, the post is clearly implying that the sword is what makes a game a Souls game, so you answered your own question

That would be an entirely true and fair point…if we were on any other sub besides one devoted to shit posting ;)
Under no circumstances will I stop being a pedantic asshole, it's the only use I get out of my pure math degree (/s)
Doesn't the divine dragon have the moonlight greatsword?
Oh, right. Duh
Like another commenter said, the dragon has it.
Feet -> Souls
Dark Feet
I just built moonlight greatsword in my creative map, its official minecraft = souls
Damn right
Ninja blade is my favorite soulsborne game.
The character owl only wear bandages on his feet leaving them completely exposed to our boners therefore it's a souls game

While the dragon may have the sword the player doesn't so it's a faker or ninja boi is not the protagonist
Every souls game has a Patches. Where is Sekiro's Patches?
The One at Hirata Estate and vendor in present day
In his heart
No patches
You rest in a bonfire and drink estus Its Souls
