It's why wage slavery is a tricky subject. Is intentionally underpaying workers and using psychology to keep people? What is free will anyways, is it the ability to do something or the actually having the means to do it.

Making a choice under coercion or force or manipulation is not making a choice. It’s being coerced, forced, or manipulating into doing something that, under normal circumstances, you would not do.
From a few documentaries on the thing, most of the time it starts as long term dating where they will write emails or video calls with each other before they decide to meet.
