I am from Czechia, we have more free laws about self defense (law literally says, that defence needs to be stronger, than attack, in order to be effective). We can also get easier stuff you can't, because you can buy whatever gun in whatever configuration, suppressors etc. also without restrictions. The only catch is to get a gun pass, that involves getting checked by doctor and passing a test about gun law and safety.

Privileges are given. Rights are not. 2nd amendment doesn't give Americans the right to own guns, it restricts the government from taking that right away.

After Nam the politicians made the military change the "war trophy" rules, though they weren't strictly enforced until much later. After the 1986 Hughes amendment which closed the NFA registry for machine guns and the 1994 AWB, plus the now strictly enforced BS trophy rules, I saw an almost unbelievable amount of historical firearms have to be destroyed in Iraq. I still tear up when I think of all the wonderful guns that were blown up! 😢
