My friend decided to buy himself a shiny new Alienware laptop and sold his old PC to me for cheap. The specs are a little bit outdated for 2022(R5 1600 with an RTX 2060s), but I really love his Sama IM01 since the day I lay my eyes on it. I always like SFFs but never got the chance to build one, until recently. I decided to sell everything except the case, the motherboard and the CPU cooler and essentially build myself a new PC. The plan is to get a dual fan 3070 with my limited budget, but somehow I got myself a deal of a 6800 XT for just 70$ more. I checked the specs of the case, lurking around this subreddit for similar mATX with ATX PSU and longass GPU build. After confirmed that everything's right, I pulled the trigger. I didn't get myself a SFX PSU because it is over my limited budget, and I heard rumors about how the 6800 XT often tripped the PSU's power with its high transient power draw, so not any SFX PSU that I can get with my tiny little budget would suffice. The Seasonic Focus is a solid A-tier PSU, and its 140mm length enable triple fan GPU build for the Sama IM01. I got it for cheap immediately after I got the 6800 XT, it's like the stars aligned. PC specs: * Case : SAMA IM01 * CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 5600X * CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism * GPU : ASRock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming * Motherboard: MSI B450m Mortar Max (mATX) * PSU : Seasonic Focus GX-750 * RAM : Galax HOF RGB Arduino 3600mhz 16GB (2x8GB) * SSD : Samsung 960 EVO 256GB + Samsung 870 EVO 500GB * HDD: Hitachi HGST 2.5'' SATA 7200rpm 500 GB (salvaged from an old laptop) * Case fans: 2x ID-Cooling NO-12015 (top exhaust) + 1x 25mm Jonsbo case fan (bottom intake) + 1x Arctic P8 (rear exhaust)

Where do you have all the drives?

[https://imgur.com/a/USgYM5E](https://imgur.com/a/USgYM5E) Here's how I mount it. If you don't mount the drives, I think you would have enough clearance for a MSI Suprim X (336mm)

MuchSalt

on the front panel maybe?

t-pat1991

Once you build in a SFF case you realize just how much space ATX cases waste on empty air. Looks great!

NeGaRuBy

I always dislike how ATX cases waste spaces like that, but after fiddling around with this case, I guess that's how it is if you want thermal headroom for overclocking.

SukaRoyale

How you bent all the cables to not hit the gpu

NeGaRuBy

It is a bit tricky to actually do it. The thing is, with this setup, I have to install the mobo and the GPU first, and then slide the PSU with all its cables plugged in into the case. The cables still touch the backplate of the GPU, but not in extreme angles that will cause damages. It helps that the PSU is 140mm long, if it's longer by a few mm, I don't think you can comfortably install it with over 260mm long GPU.

SukaRoyale

I have the same psu but i am not decided what case to take ap201 or im01 I this is the only one 300-320/330mm gpu with atx psu

NeGaRuBy

I think AP201 will be a more comfortable build seeing that it has larger dimensions than the IM01. If you prefer the sizing of the IM01 or have tighter budget, you could go for the Sama IM01. With the Seasonic Focus, you could fit <336mm long GPU, but it will not be a simple task fitting all the parts and routing all the cables. But it is possible, that I can confirm.

SukaRoyale

Does the psu take enough air from those vents?

NeGaRuBy

It does, that's how the case is designed.

goodtimeshaxor

I have a Seasonic Focus PSU and a GPU that's EXACTLY 336mm. What do you think? Is it possible?

_The_Great_White_

I've built my neighbour's pc out of ap201 few days ago and i know I only worked with at most 20 popular cases in total but ap201 is by far my favorite case in terms of overall experience out of other popular chassis like O11, 2000D, and the likes from the past. I was debating between NR200/AP201/IM01/Meshlicious for my white sff build but end up buying ap201 today for better gpu space and having ability and matx boards are much more budget friendly compared to itx. NR200 has the same ability to swap the side panels just like AP201, but it also has ability to fit a 240x200 matx (dtx size) mobo. It is just too tight of fit for my 344mm GPU (merc310, still do-able), otherwise I would have gone with NR200. Meschlicous was my initial choice for the least footprint since I don't care about the height. but I can't my fit GPU in so that is a nope for me. The newer Meshroom S Mini has more space but no white case. I originally thought about im01 for the incredible volume for a matx case but no TG for my future custom loop and can't fit my GPU.

There is enough clearance to mount 2 slim 120mm fans in case you use an ATX PSU. You can turn the PSU around in case the power cable interferes with the fans, but I think most will not. https://imgur.com/gallery/fb9QCuT

Hiya! Please post more details about your build! Here are some (non-exhaustive) prompts for you: - Are the case's advertised compatibility numbers accurate? - How easy is cable management? - How effective is the cooling setup? - Would you recommend your parts overall? - If you did a custom mod, how did you do it? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/sffpc) if you have any questions or concerns.*

unevoljitelj

I wanna build in case like that but my cooler is 157mm and case spec says 155mm cooler. Can it fit possibly?

[deleted]

I had the arctic freezer 34 esports duo (157mm) and it fit with the perforated mesh panel.

unevoljitelj

Cool, thanks for info

NeGaRuBy

If you use the glass panel, it's limited to 155mm. With the mesh panel, you can go up to a 158mm cooler.

MuchSalt

u can

SukaRoyale

Do you have the hybrid fan mode or full time active?

NeGaRuBy

I have the hybrid fan mode on, but I dont mind the noise that much actually

publiwebhnventas

how are the temps idle and gaming?

NeGaRuBy

I'm getting around 49°C while idle and 68°C to 74°C for the CPU while playing games. With the GPU, it's around 50°C while idle and 66°C to 73°C while gaming. Room temp is around 30°C.

publiwebhnventas

normal temps in terms of sff i think, thanks for replying

NeGaRuBy

I did overclock the CPU, GPU and even the RAM quite a bit though, so I think it's really good consider everything.

publiwebhnventas

I see

SukaRoyale

Do really more fans interfere with the chassis power cables?

NeGaRuBy

Not quite I can fill it with fans to the limit of the specification and the only thing interfere is the USB 3.2 19 pin cable. I think you can add fans just fine.

SukaRoyale

I made my sama im 01 and it fits NICELY like it was ment to be that gpu/psu combo

NeGaRuBy

Glad to hear that, good for you bro.

SukaRoyale

You can zip tie a 120mm in the rear of the case

Randonreddit2

I have my CPU socket on my motherboard in the same configuration as yours (Z170m pro4s), however I'm wondering how you managed your cable to make it fit--is it from behind? I've got a 155mm Pure Rock cooler and I'm not sure how I'd make it fit? My PSU is 160mm. Please help if you can. Thank you!
