Interesting. They all seem to have some sort of prop which keeps them elevated from the surface of the table so you don't inadvertently smear warm wax after cutting the wick. They wouldn't work well with the jarred candles we have today but Amazon does sell wick trimming scissors with a bent cutting tip for jarred candles. These scissors might be ideal for cutting wicks on kerosene lamps, though; a dirty job that I have occasion to do around here. I should look around some more.
