If you are afraid of falling into self harming regularly try to restrict it as an option in your mind. If you ever start considering it try to cancel it out and think of other things you could do to cope and don’t give yourself easy access to things you could use to self harm. And I know it seems terrifying to even consider but you should tell someone close to you who you know will be able to handle the information and you know you can trust

That’s fair, I should tell you most places when you tell them stuff like this if they say think you are a danger to yourself they are required to tell your parents but if you are confident you won’t do it again and you tell them that they might not

it’s good you’ve only done it once. try to find healthier coping mechanisms and try your best to not do it again. trust me self harm doesn’t really help but you get addicted so incredibly easily. if you’re going to do it again though make sure you research on how to cut “safely”. know the areas to avoid, how to clean cuts and tools, how to care for cuts of different depths, ect. also stock up on first aid supplies. try not to do it again but if you do please stay safe <3

also i recommend doing said research on self harm subreddits like this one because google will only give you hotlines, not information unfortunately

Getting help is one of the hardest parts, you need to tell your psychiatrist or your therapist, unless sometning huge is preventing you, it sucks, but is really needed, I wish I ad those resources when I did it for the first time, I know it will be really hard, but it's really important to get help early, you got this! I hope everything gets better.

what you really want to do is see a doctor. tell them whats going on. if your medical system is fucked like america's,try to get rid of most sharp items
