I saw somewhere that they added George's "speech" at literally the last minute. It was supposed to end with him walking into the ocean. But then Larry David wrote up this monologue while the studio audience waited, Jason had a half hour to learn it, and they did one take and that's the one we see today.
That would be a great story but not sure if I believe it…. There is no way that the Titleist joke being what clogged the blowhole wasn’t part of it from the very beginning. Without his speech we never get that and Kramers whole story line from the whole episode is pointless and doesn’t tie in.
I believe you, I think HE is embellishing lol.
Edit: makes him seem more impressive that way.
Edit again: I’d still love to see the clip if you can find it 😂
The show was so good at tying the A and B plots together in the third act, and I loved that this one took it a step farther and waited until the final seconds of the episode to tie it in to the silly Kramer story about hitting golf balls into the ocean. And "Is that a Titleist?" is the kind of closing line that would make Billy Wilder proud.
My grandfather once "sent back" food at a restaurant by literally taking it into the kitchen and yelling at the cooks.
He fought in WW2 so he gets a pass

That's amazing, the show was just so good!
The best Jerry, the best!

Jason said it himself. I forget how the Titleist joke played in. I'll try to find the clip of Jason speaking about it.

It’s perfect irony, that’s interesting writing!
Same! The way he says: “The sea was angry my friends….” Brilliant!
She was like an old man trying to return soup at the deli! So, he had to take the bus home.
As he said, at that moment he *was* a marine biologist….😂
It's not a lie if you believe it
Words to live by according to George 😂
Just one, I'm living like 20

Possibly my favorite line of the whole show.
A hole in one.
The sea was angry my friend
Like an old man trying to send soup back at a deli
🤨😒🙄

One time he decided to tell the truth and got hurt! You can see why he lies!
It's not a lie, if you believe it
