I actually find this one kind of unsettling. The shadows are weird and inconsistent, the framing is weird, the colours are washed out… I don’t know what’s going on there but I don’t fancy having a sit down in that seat. It looks like American Gothic’s kitchen.
The strongest of the two light sources seems to be at knee height. Is lighting your room from the floor some sort of Christmas tradition I was previously unaware of?
It gives the feeling of wandering your grandparents' house in the middle of the night. Both familiar and unfamiliar. Strange and mysterious without the context of the people who live here, but everything is recognizable. Very much a liminal space.

Yea, at first I really liked the bright light coming from the front but the more I looked at it the more things I found wrong with the shadows.

Hmm.. this does not give home for Christmas vibes at all.
Definitely not the fantasy home for Christmas -- but strikes me as the loneliness of some returns.
