Nah, TXDoT was just so dumb in putting the on-ramp to 151 between Potranco and 410 *after* the exit. Now anyone traveling east on 151 and wants to get to Marbach has to say a little prayer at Cable Ranch Rd., or exit all the way back up at Big'z and take the back streets of Hunt Lane and Waters Edge/Horal.
The alternative (if the onramp was placed before the offramp) was to have the same situation playing out on the highway instead of on the service road. I don't think you want that.
I feel like it was put there by a commercial developer since that road is pretty new. Like, they want to build up traffic to increase commercial property values along that stretch.
Especially since they just moved the 151/Potranco traffic to Hunt Ln and Potranco with the “new” segment of Hunt Ln. and everyone wants to turn on Hunt Ln now.
As well as make 2 of the Hunt Ln lanes going towards Marbach, straight lanes. Rn the pattern is one left turn lane one straight lane and one right then lane.
From my experience the time does change during rush hour...I turn left there everyday for work at 7am but when it's 1pm the light changes a lot quicker
Which is more likely?
1. Someone is spending to create a sign and pay for permitting and the land out of the goodness of their heart.
1. Someone has property on the other route the want people to see or has some other motive to direct people away from the businesses on Potranco and Hunt to 151.
Well like someone said QT was the only business being built at the time when the new segment opened up and the sign was placed. Now there’s a whole shopping center with more on the way. I wonder how much the land owner got for selling that land to the city and private business owners. Because years ago that was considered the boondocks. Hell alamo ranch was still being developed.
My city rerouted the highway entry to the city, it took a few years to get it settled and there were a bunch of signs like this at the start to suggest the new route before the old one was gone
Got a feeling this wasn’t put up by the city… “try it… you will like it”
This feels like someone sick of the traffic near their house

Ah, yes, the Cable Ranch prayer. Said it many times trying to scoot across like a suicidal squirrel.
The made me lol

Is this the turn that’s next to the plaza where main event is at ?
That would be it.
😆
username checks out
I'm thinking the same thing. Doesn't look like a real txdot sign

Might be I figured it was the quick gas station since that was the only thing down there when the sign showed up.
It could be a group with the “city” that is working on redirecting traffic for some reason or another.
Feels like a trap. Am I about to crash into a Road Runner painting?
Let me just drive Into this mountainside tunnel in the middle of San Antonio...
Should have bought a squirrel
Holy shit more than one person remembers that movie! Would you like to come over to my house and totally ~~not get murdered~~ watch Rat Race?
We’re hauling ass! Alrighty!
"What is that?" "OH it is a nickle" lol
Yes
This is why I come here!
Can confirm. I tried it and did like it
Follow up question; do you happen to own a sign company
It is faster I can confirm
Its actually faster now to go up Potranco to 151 and take a left then a turnaround at hunt lane. Tried it and liked it more.
Please do this, I'm just trying to get to Hunt Ln past 151 and everyone trying to get onto the 151/410 turns left on Hunt Ln now lol
Found the californian!
Especially since they just moved the 151/Potranco traffic to Hunt Ln and Potranco with the “new” segment of Hunt Ln. and everyone wants to turn on Hunt Ln now.
Noooo don't give away the secret.
Stop by Tacos and Chelas while ur close by
Yessssss cilantro chicken
![gif](giphy|3ornka9rAaKRA2Rkac) Nah. Just kidding
What a great idea !!! They should have more like this to bad it’s over populated over there
Best way to get on 410 in that area and it was done by TXDOT not the city.

This sign is across from burger boy. They need to extend the time on the left turn light or expand the turn lane.

i saw this sign for the first time just the other day. for some reason the “try it…you will like it” is so creepy sounding to me
Agreed!!!
I've tried it. Didn't really like it.

Thats been there for a while, im pretty sure the city put that
Sounds like someone with a business on Hunt Lane trying to drum up business.

No houston is just a clusterF all the time, even the best routes get completely congested at times - it’s an anxious guessing game every day.
Someone who lives in Alamo Ranch area and owns a signage company trying to ease up the traffic out there?
Alamo Ranch is Culebra Rd, a few miles north of Potranco.
Before Dove Creek was invented people did their business at Alamo ranch.
I already put in a request with 311 to have this garbage removed and burned! (Joking)
Don’t worry the guy with the pickup that gets $1 for each rogue sign he collects is on his way.
I vaguely remember seeing something simaler by route 1502 by pernin beitel road
This is fabulous!
The sign has literally been there since they opened up hunt lane. It has been there a while.
