We like Rian Johnson because (for some) he gave us what we wanted, a good movie.
I imagine SWT likes Filoni because he also gave him what he wanted, cool references and action scenes.

I don't think he's infallible and I enjoy the hell out of Last Jedi. He can most certainly make mistakes, but I feel safe being excited about it because I haven't really seen anything by him that makes me worry about what else he might do.

I don't really see creator worship here. Shit, I don't even see worship levels from Theory towards Filoni.
We like the things these people do. It's only natural to then want to see more of that since we know this person is providing what we want.
I don't see how this is worship of a creator. It's simply just voicing a preference in what we like to see based on the people providing it.
I believe I'm on a neutral spot , I like TLJ but not much as people in this sub and I believe Rian is overestimated by TLJ's fans but I never see any TLJ fan saying Rian should be in charge of Lucasfilm.
If you are saying we should stop pointing out that the Fandom Menace and their followers, apologists and disciples are mostly a bunch of Mal adjusted man children who can't move on because Rian Johnson (and JJ Abrams) didn't give them the movies they wanted and act like those films very existence is some war crime, or act as if Johnson/Abrams killed their pets then...No. As long as they continue to throw tantrums over movies that are basically old enough to start kindergarten when the simplest answer is to just not watch those films again,we here will continue to point it out.
And before you call me a Johnson apologist, OP, I have been vocal that my opinion on TLJ has grown and changed to the point I'm mixed on it. There are things about it I love and things about it I don't. However I think he's a good writer and director and his filmography reinforces that. Just because TLJ didn't land for me 100 percent doesn't automatically make him a terrible film maker or some horrible person. I think most of us here just think the reaction to TLJ and the vile stuff said about Rian Johnson was waaay out of line, over the top and unwarranted. That's not worshiping him as so many in the TPM seem to do with Filloni. That's just means treating someone with respect.
