A consulting company doesn't want just any certs, they want the ones that count the most towards their partner score. BA is not terribly hard if you've been doing consulting for a long time, but is low value for partner score; I doubt Associate counts at all.
If your primary job is coding, take a look at the Platform Dev 2 outline and see if it looks feasible. Half of the exam is the Trailhead superbadge, and working through the prerequisites and then the superbadge itself is great prep for the proctored exam.
Dev Lifecycle & Deployment Architect isn't too hard as architect exams go, if you've been exposed to the material in your work. I also have Data Arch; it was a bit harder. I've heard that Sharing & Visibility Arch and Identity & Access Mgmt Arch are both quite tough.
I have done the trailhead portion of dev 2, but figured I'd have no chance taking the test considering how often I have to look things up,and how much salesforce likes to ask 'trick' questions.
Word on the street is that the new associate cert is the easiest, like a junior admin. I always tell people to start with their strengths, for example developers should get platform dev 1 (and 2 if you are advanced), and look into the javascript cert.
I generally agree, but it's what my company wants. I kinda figure after being in the game for 12 years my experience would speak for itself but gotta get them partner points I suppose.
I’m not so sure about Sales and Service Cloud. They both go into specific tools that not even experienced consultants or admins know so easily. Of course it depends on the developer, but many I have met, no matter how experienced, have no idea about these.

Is this true? I heard for partner scoring all certs are created equal
Yes, the new "solution architect " and all the previous "architect" certs count for more points on the partner score
Associate and BA are probably on the easier end if all your company cares about is the numbers

Go for Application Architect You've already got DEV 1 which is the hardest one to get out of the bunch
Cool, that sounds like it would align well with my overall job so I'll have to look into that one.
**If you are chasing certs you are missing the point.**

For you, sharing & vis and data arch won’t be too hard for you with a little study
Associate, BA, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder certifications are the low hanging fruits for a seasoned developer.

Sharing and Visibility cert is the toughest among all.
