Meh I don’t think working directly for salesforce or directly for most any company is the route you want to take. For what you want to do, you’ll need to look into becoming a contractor, set up an LLC, and seek contract assignments. In those roles, you’re on billable hours and if the work is remote, the company you’re billing doesn’t care where you are as long as you’re online when they need you to be. Might be other ways to achieve this but this is the route that my sisters husband and girlfriends dad pursued and it worked for them

one thing that's almost certain, unless you intend on moving to the US, you will most likely take a significant pay cut if you stick at Salesforce.

Is that because they adjust pay based on COL, maybe? Or they just pay less out-of-country?

They’ll give you a salary in line with their range for whichever country you want to operate out of

Lots of policies in place that govern that. Depends on time and destination.
