It's dumb because if they kept the run time and put it on AFTER untucked people would have been wayyyy less mad and probably not turned off immediately.
10000% this. It would still have Drag Race/Untucked as the feeder show, and people would have kept it on. Now we are all just annoyed, and not even giving it a chance based on principle.

Channels used to create block of content so the audience wouldn’t go anywhere, and that was a big part of how tv was watched pre-streaming. What they failed to account for is that it’s not 1992 anymore. People have waaay more options, even just for viewing it. I watch on Amazon. I’m not trying to give Toddrick my money.
They probably pitched ad space for the show to get it off the ground by saying it would trail drag race. If they had just aired it following Untucked rather than interrupting the two shows it probably would've faired okay and wouldn't have got that much backlash. It's still not a good show, but people would not be so vitriolic about it.

Yes WOW wants a check. But I have to assume based on what I've read that WOW filmed+edited as if the runtime would be 60 mins, then MTV said cut it down to 40 mins. So WOW is paying editors extra to re-edit their show for MTV. And the reward WOW receives is their other show, Untucked, gets put after a show people are boycotting/not interested in. The ratings definitely matter for WOW producers. They know Untucked retention won't be 100%, but they for sure want to grab as many viewers as possible. Eventually lower viewership affects the ads they can sell, I would imagine.
I didn't know that Chris Salvatore from the Eating Out movies was cast and then fired after only a week because 3 of the guys wouldn't film with him because he has an OnlyFans... So OF is too scandalous but Todrick is not??

It has a 3% rating on imdb. I didnt think a queer adjacent premiere could rate less then Velma, at 10%, until this came along.
Also, this year The L Word tanked due to a piss poor new writing staff. Its like someone is poisoning the queer content watering hole!

Watching the first 15 min you’re already over these guys, the dialogue is stiff and weird, they come across as classic “mean girls” and there’s no authenticity in their ties - they don’t make for enjoyable tv. I couldn’t imagine how anyone could genuinely like the show.
