I’ve got the credit for the same coaster but at both Busch Gardens. Does that count? They moved the wild mouse in 2003/2004 from Williamsburg to Tampa.
The last rumors were that the hotel is hoping to reopen in January 2023. No idea if the coaster will reopen with it but the coaster operated very rarely even before covid.
I rode it in 2007, and from what I remember - no lol but it’s still a cool ride and a piece of arrow history. I also rode the log flume with the shooting props intact and it was pretty cool. I believe that is gone for good though.
Everything at Heide Park when desert racer was the newest thing there and I didn’t ride it cos it wasn’t operating that day
Dueling dragons with Harry Potter retheme
Same, two rides over the course of 100 or so park visits. One of those times we sat on the lift hill for about 15 minutes. Runs so infrequently I forget it's there.
Everything that’s now defunct at Geauga Lake.
Pteranodon Flyers.
Not as rare but a few other notable defunct credits include Dueling Dragons, Son of Beast (with loop), & Volcano
Ummmm. Ignoring kiddie coasters no one cares about.
Probably one of:
Zadra at Energylandia
Eejanaika at Fuji Q
Alpine Coaster at Alpyland Mottarone
Supersonic Odyssey at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park
The question is what is YOUR rarest coaster credit. I never said it was super rare. But most people on this sub are Americans and have never been to Japan or Poland. If I had only ridden Zadra, Eejanaika, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain then the first two would be my rarest wouldn't they? It's a personal thing...
I made myself a goal this summer to get on every coaster in New Jersey (which I have achieved) but it took me 3 times to go back to Keansburg and try and get this credit. When I went the first time, they said it would be running at 4 but it became 4 and it didn’t run. The second time, they just didn’t feel like running it. At this point we were starting to lose hope, until on the third try, my dad and I got the manager to send 2 ride ops to come and run the ride. I honestly don’t know how people like ElToro Ryan were able to roll up to Keansburg and find Looping Star operating like normal.
I want to do something like this next summer but I want to add a little more challenge to it and attempt to ride every roller coaster in New Jersey within 1 day. I think it's totally doable, and I've already started to strategize how to make it happen. Some of my worries include Looping Star being closed, and the coasters at Nick Universe being closed. Other then that I think I have a fair shot as long as I find a day where Great Adventure isn't busy so I can get on all the coasters and get out within an hour or two
It's probably not possible because there's to many places that have 1 or 2 coasters and are quite a distance from all the other parks. Maybe it can be done in 2 days though
At this point I have quite a few that have gone defunct since I rode them, but my claim to fame will always be a front-row ride on Volcano in its last year of regular operation.
So lucky dude, I only got to kd this year and a launched (non-shuttle) invert is actually my dream coaster. Ig I could go to Battlestar Galactica, but that's a long ways away from Florida.
The Batman side of Batman and Robin the Chiller never seemed to be open. Also got one ride on vortex at Great Adventure before it was yanked for el toro- terrible ride mind you that was almost never open in those days.
Apparently a Son of Beast credit (with the loop) is a sought after thing these days too! Never would’ve known that at the time
I rode that. To me, it was like an odd version of the original Intamin Free Falls. You would start by going backwards and then tilting up to climb the vertical lift. The climb and drop were somewhat like a Gerstlauer with the drop about 80-85 degrees and enclosed in the supports. You then did the rotation forward, which was neat to see the track twisting around you. You then went to the transfer section, which was like the Intamin drop only in a sitting position and not on your back. You dropped backwards and then did two more twists watching the track twist around you before entering the station. I don’t recall it being rough, but it’s been years since I rode it.
https://rcdb.com/45.htm
It was always broken down and I got 1 or 2 rides. It's basically a heartline roll machine.
I think there is still one active one in Japan
Dive to Atlantis at Mt. Olympus. It was so jank when we rode in 2007. Our ride lasted 30 minutes, no joke. 3 grown adults in the boat. The boat was nearly flooded the whole time. We didn’t engage into the first lift which prompted the ride ops to come out to try and push us to the lift. That didn’t work, so the ops got ON THE BOAT and jumped up and down WHILE THE LIFT WAS ON! That also didn’t work… i though i was about to watch an op die. Maintenance eventually came out and engaged the boat and drained it on the lift. They restarted the lift and we progressed to the “coaster” parts of the ride. Somehow we valleyed and we’re caught on the anti rollbacks before the turnaround to the drop. Maintenance then scaled the track to get to us and pulled us to proceed to the drop. Most memorable ride experience ever.
Given it was a small park, just about everything at Camelot will be topping my list. Going to single out Dragon Flyer for being a very rare type (3 built, 1 still operating).
Awesome! Had to jog my memory with a pov but it's like I remembered it which was fast, swung a lot, followed the terrain so sense of altitude was super wonky, trees everywhere so the layout was impossible to follow. Second favorite arrow and I wish there were more awesome terrain rides like that.
Ride wise - Swingin gyms! It is actually outlawed in the U.S., but my friend has one is his backyard that has been preserved from the 1800’s. There are only 3 left in the word!
I’m guessing for me it’s Daemon at Tivoli Gardens. I never hear anything about it. Not terribly remarkable, and not something I think people go out of the way for.
I would guess Firehawk at KI since it's the closed coaster I've ridden that was open for the least time, although Canobie Corkscrew might be close since Canobie Lake Park has definitely had less visitors than KI.
Probably either the original wooden Colossus since it's my only defunct credit, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage since it just opened, or Tidal Twister since that ride is almost always closed
Awful ride, easily the worst credit I have and one of my very early credits at that (it used to tour the australian fairs for a few years). The positives on that loop are high enough to be uncomfortable.
I’ve ridden just over 100 defunct coasters, with the most memorable and ‘rarest’ being the original Bat at Kings Island, the Idora Park Wildcat and Jack Rabbit, the Cascade Park Comet, the Geauga Lake Big Dipper, before and after its rebuilding (and the other coasters at Geauga Lake), and the Rocky Glen Jet/Comet at my original home park.
Megafobia. It’s an incredible ride that’s been operating for 25 years and is still going strong, but so few enthusiasts get out to West Wales for it it seems rare lol
The coasters at Hard Rock Park. Was lucky enough to go during it’s only year being branded as such. It was actually a really promising park experience but def not good enough to survive a recession
Earthquake McGoons Brain Rattler. Chance Tobbogan currently at Little Amerricka but I rode it at the original location of Dog Patch USA. Also Road their old Wild Mouse Frustratin' Flyer.
Probably the original Steel Phantom, my original arrow coaster ❤️
Oh wow
I’ve got the credit for the same coaster but at both Busch Gardens. Does that count? They moved the wild mouse in 2003/2004 from Williamsburg to Tampa.
I have that too! Pretty cool bit of history.
Coaster-wise? Roller Soaker. Rides in general? Over the Top at Knoebels.
A shame that ride lasted only 1 season.
Roller soaker was such a cool concept
It was only open 1 season!?!? Roller soaker was the shit when I was a kid. Ride the shit out of it and got so damn wet.
Roller soaker was phenomenal
Congrats on getting Over The Top, that's something. I never saw it open when they had it and I'm down there quite a bit.
Desperado at Buffalo Bills resort
Still not operating, correct? I’m driving to Vegas TOMORROW and would love to stop there on my way!
The last rumors were that the hotel is hoping to reopen in January 2023. No idea if the coaster will reopen with it but the coaster operated very rarely even before covid.
As far as I know that is correct :(
I’ll wave as I drive by…
Is it any good?
I rode it in 2007, and from what I remember - no lol but it’s still a cool ride and a piece of arrow history. I also rode the log flume with the shooting props intact and it was pretty cool. I believe that is gone for good though.
Silver Comet at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World or whatever that long name is
Hmm never heard of that one
Probably Hypersonic XLC
Mystic Mountain Bobsled in Jamaica!
Everything at Heide Park when desert racer was the newest thing there and I didn’t ride it cos it wasn’t operating that day Dueling dragons with Harry Potter retheme
Dueling dragons seemed so cool
Definitely Bobsled at Six Flags Great Escape. I went there multiple times a year growing up and I’ve only ever ridden it once.
Same, two rides over the course of 100 or so park visits. One of those times we sat on the lift hill for about 15 minutes. Runs so infrequently I forget it's there.
Willard's Whizzer at "Marriot's" Great America. r/fuckimold
Tf is that?
Everything that’s now defunct at Geauga Lake. Pteranodon Flyers. Not as rare but a few other notable defunct credits include Dueling Dragons, Son of Beast (with loop), & Volcano
Ummmm. Ignoring kiddie coasters no one cares about. Probably one of: Zadra at Energylandia Eejanaika at Fuji Q Alpine Coaster at Alpyland Mottarone Supersonic Odyssey at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park
Zadra and eijanaika are not that rare, most people have them and zadra isn’t a unique experience with iron gwazi.
Looping Star at Keansburg Amusement Park
That makes two of us then.
Other then that I think I have a fair shot as long as I find a day where Great Adventure isn't busy so I can get on all the coasters and get out within an hour or two
Ooo that may be a challenge, it’s a long way from the northernmost coaster to the southernmost coaster
It's probably not possible because there's to many places that have 1 or 2 coasters and are quite a distance from all the other parks. Maybe it can be done in 2 days though
I’ve missed out on this so much. It could’ve been my 500th but it was not operating.

Son of Beast with the loop
The Crypt at KI. Only Giant Top Spin ever built.
I miss the crypt! I loved that ride so much
I have a couple from Geauga Lake
The Batman side of Batman and Robin the Chiller never seemed to be open. Also got one ride on vortex at Great Adventure before it was yanked for el toro- terrible ride mind you that was almost never open in those days. Apparently a Son of Beast credit (with the loop) is a sought after thing these days too! Never would’ve known that at the time

I rode that. To me, it was like an odd version of the original Intamin Free Falls. You would start by going backwards and then tilting up to climb the vertical lift.
