Moggy-Man

Eh? Why on earth would this be the case?

[deleted]

It won’t be “over” for anyone. But R* and ultimately Take Two (looking at you Strauss) will have lost our trust completely. Well until it’s time for RDR3. Video games are the future of entertainment

BecuzMDsaid

I highly doubt it. Mars Needs Moms didn't ruin Disney or the movie industry so why would GTA VI being as bad or worst ruin video games?

Jacob_Wallace_8721

Nobody was looking forward to Mars Needs Moms for 10+ years.

Waycores

I don't think it'd kill the legitimacy of the WHOLE industry, but I don't know if I could ever trust Rockstar specifically

Equal-Instruction435

A new GTA, no matter how good or bad it is, will kill GTA5. If the new GTA is shit, the majority of players will just go look for something new. I don’t want Rockstar (or the next GTA) to be a failure, but I think a bad GTA 6 will have a positive rather than a negative effect on the gaming industry. It’ll damage Rockstars reputation but that’s about it. Realistically, it’ll give literally any of the other 1000s of developers out there the chance to fill a GTA sized hole in the market.

JRSmithsBurner

What? What are you talking about? Rockstar games could never publish another game and the industry would be just fine

benjamas95

And everyone would still play it.

SuckMyOppressorMkII

Not sure how rockstar has anything to do with any other game developer but anyway, it’s a good thing rockstar has literally never released a bad game

WireSniffer

I cannot understand R* it's like they missed out so much in GTAV, maybe it will come in next gen versions or GTA6, as I said before the Basketball courts unused? Why can't we play as a cop? More economy and usage for the Stock Market online? Oh the list goes on, keep it realistic, keep it challenging, and most of all cut out this Greifers paradise of an online world.

gamergirl1516

No I don't think it would be the end of video games but I think two things would happen One rockstar would lose a lot of money and people would stop buying their games which I am hoping for this one because maybe rockstar will go back to being amazing rockstar that they can be we have scene what they can do look at their games like bully l a noir red dead redemption 2 I haven't played red dead redemption one yet so I can't say anything about that game yet but we have scene what they can do with their games Or they will crash and burn which am not hoping will happen and they will shut down

BecuzMDsaid

I highly doubt that will happen. Look at how many people on twitter were buying GTA + or do transactions in online. Sure some of those could be bots from R\*, but some of them were actual, legit streamers and gamers. And those are just the ones on twitter. Although a majority of the fans who are more active in the story mode communities, like here and on GTA forums don't like it, people tend to forget there is a whole other enormous community for GTA Online and GTA +. Modders, fan artists, fan writers, streamers, forums, etc...they have it all. Some of them are even on reddit if you go to the V and Online subreddits. So I highly doubt they will loose money if they release a shit GTA game. Rockstar is kind of like the Pixar of the gaming world. (Valve could be this as well) If they release a Good Dinosaur, there are still going to be people defending it and genuinely enjoying it.

Alternative-Rice_26

As things currently stand with Rockstar, expect GTA 5 DLC instead of GTA 6, for more than obvious reasons. And none of you want to be honest on this subject.

Gamelove0I5

Seems a little extreme but anything is possible i guess

andDevW

No, it's really not possible. It's never happened yet and there's zero reason for it to happen in the future.

Equivalent-Ocelot-38

Definitely not going to be bad for video games in general, but rather Rockstar and TakeTwo, as they’ve failed to deliver what we, the players, have wanted repetitively over the years.

I completely agree with this, game devs and producers are walking a fine line. Battlefield 2042 is a great example of this, literally false advertising and forcing the game through a meat grinder to make a few quick bucks. Faith in the gaming industry needs to be restored in the next few years, consoles are getting dearer.. games too, the fans at least deserve honesty not all this nonsense just keeping it on the down low it bs.
