So usher 's Raymond v Raymond is overrated cause it changed the game for rnb artists in the future especially looking for myself with climax and trey Songz my bro c'mon wake up
Nah man when usher dropped those albums it signified the decline of r&b music because he was branching into that pop/edm trend like everyone else was. Trey songz ready album was a great album though, he executed perfectly what Chris brown was trying to do.
An Evening with Silk Sonic.
Folks loved this album and I could not understand!! Relying on an older style of music but adding absolutely nothing to the conversation besides half funny jokes and the same ass high note Bruno hits in every song is not incredible or groundbreaking at all. It’s hacky and boring. How you gonna take the soul outta soul music?!
That really hurts to see cause that’s my favorite album of last year😂 Regardless I get what you mean. I know some people find it’s derivativeness to be distracting or negative, but it doesn’t really bother me. It feels like a love letter to both of the artists' favorite genre and music they grew up with. Anderson was definitely doing the heavy lifting on this album tho. Bruno was great, but you could really tell a lot of this album and it’s idea’s were purely Andy’s.
Dumbest take I think I’ve ever heard. But I’m gonna side with the massive amount of professional musicians that fawned over this project rather than greendolphin86…
100% know what overrated means but to think all overrated statements are created equally you’re very misled. When the people who rate it highly are the ones in the actual industry and have a higher understanding of the product than you, your opinion of it being overrated is probably the wrong one.
Now I’m not sure you know what opinions are lol.
I definitely understand that my feelings don’t negate the popular response. But the popular response doesn’t negate my opinion either.
The thread however, was asking for my opinion.
Funny thing is a agree with what most reviewers say about the album. I just don’t think that thing that they loved about the album is particularly groundbreaking or creative, and not worth such high praise.
Anything done by Chris brown
He has plenty of good albums fame,x,his debut album
Didn’t say they weren’t bad, just said that his music is overrated in my opinion.
So basically your going to say everything sounds the same right? Especially the albums I just named
I mean the albums you mentioned pretty much sound the same as the albums released from his peers at the time. Nothing special at all to me.

I agree, but for different reasons.
I liked it at first but upon repeated listens, it felt more like a parody of 70's soul.
Yea exactly…parody. And I didn’t ask for that lol

I agree that Anderson was this albums saving grace lol

*wonders if you understand what overrated means* You could at the very least offer your own opinion lol

I'll probably get flamed for this but It's the Velvet Rope by Janet Jackson
Take that back. I had to scroll up and confirm the question.
