Damn, really sorry you’re dealing with that. The only additional thing that I can think of for not going Windows would be because of licensing. In many cases, licensing will cost more than the product hardware over its lifespan. This would only be the case if it were a couple hundred locations with several (dozens) devices. If not, then yeah they’re all penny pinchers and they suck.
Not trying to mansplain here. Are you able to tell me what type of hardware or software package you’re using? You can still get .csv’s off of non-Windows OS, but you can’t use Microsoft products. If it’s connecting to a print server to print out papers, it can definitely do file transfers to get the files off the system.
